Hey, Jim Walls sent me a friend request on Facebook! How cool is that?;)

I'm secretly hoping Ron Gilbert is next;)

Brilliant game;) Made me think of Robert Sheckley's novels somehow. And a fantastic voice acting!

Now off to watch the dev commentary video!;)

Oh, great! So now that you're back, are you going to help people with AGS again? I could use some of that!;)

I PM'ed you before but that was probably during your *afk* time. That, or you just don't like me for whatever reason;) (that's cool if you don't, just saying:P)

I'm an auxiliary nurse.

Also, an indie dev, I guess;)

I'd love to make a Slender adventure game by the way!;) I bet it's all been copy-righted by now, though...
Use a better and much more mysterious creepypasta

Oh... The Black-Eyed Children... I can still feel the shivers it's sent down my spine... ;) Loving it!;)

Am I the only one who got really scared by Slender?... ;(

I know it's cheap, I know there's hardly anything to that game... and yet, played in 15 minutes weekly sessions it makes me incredibly tense (that music, dear God!)! I don't recall feeling like this with any other game (maybe Amnesia, but then I got stuck on that valves puzzle and never played it again :P ) I'd say the idea of the Slender Man is ace, even if the game's graphics are super bad and there's hardly any interaction with the world. It's just a different kind of game, a new sub-genre, and it suits me just fine.

But to add my two cents to the discussion about horror I'd say that it's also important to show some stuff. People always say it's what you can't see that's most frightening, and for the most part it's true... But if you never show anything at all... I don't know, it always makes me feel disappointed somehow when games or films do that. I'm not saying you should show every detail. Just enough to feed the imagination.

I've never liked Lovecraft for that very reason- what I read of him as a kid never sparked up my imagination, never made me scared. It just told me that some people saw something creepy and shat their pants, but why? No idea. At least that's what I remember- it's been a while. Then I found Stephen King and he satisfied my cravings for a good scare and a good story. Sure, he wrote some bad books too... But the ones that were good I will remember forever.

What is also scary in games:

I was going to post here after noticing his LP of Eternally Us... but forgot completely;) It is kind of a big deal, really. Yes, he's a bit of a jerk and yes, his fanbase is really a mixed bag, but one thing is certain- once he's played your game the whole world suddenly takes notice. So well done, Calin/Ben, and to be honest your game is excellent and deserves to be in a spotlight. And it works well as a Let's Play video, too!;)

Now, where's that big commercial game you were supposed to be working on?;)Would you care to give us some news about it?;)

Let's try this;)

Downloading.

I think I've used some of your modules/plugins in The Cat Lady. You're a legend, man!;)

And it's great to see someone looking back at this community with sweet nostalgia, instead of throwing shit at people and pointing fingers/making dramatic exit (which has been a recent trend with some members).

I don't know you personally, Akumayo, but your presence has left ripples on these forums. You should stick around.

And make more AGS games?;)

Amazing stuff.

Right now, for me, the most anticipated AGS game in production.

Brittany will do a great job;) Looking forward to it!;)

Thanks an Urpney for explaining that;)

Now, I made a new little trailer to boost votes on Greenlight. Cry featured it at the start of his LP last night, which was perfect, since that means 100.000+ people will see that!;) As a result of this, we've already entered the Greenlight top 100, and with a massive BANG, too!;)

Well, without a further ado, here it is (share it guys, it helps a lot!:)):

You're making me want to quit smoking... stop it!;)

Xzyj:
Spoiler
But you got the good ending!;) The ending in which Mitzi does not die is a "secret" ending. A bonus one. Talking of logic, it really doesn't make much sense for a terminally ill patient to get well suddenly, right?;) It was my intention from the start to have the game end this way and besides, The Cat Lady frequently fucks with players' expectations and often makes you feel guilty about choices you've made. The whole point of that scene on the roof was to make you feel bad about not listening to a fictional character in a game. There was no warning that such thing would happen, so you couldn't have expected it... So in a way, it evoked certain emotions you've probably never felt before playing a game!;)

Reading the description made me think of Steam Greenlight somehow... If you replace the Adventurers' Guild with Greenlight this very well could be a perfect analogy to the life of a game developer;) This, or I'm just going mad:P

Either way, it's looking good!;) Keep up the good work!;)
#296
Ryan, what did you say that had such an impact on him, may I ask?...
#297
What I'd really like to know is this: WTF happened and how did I miss that?

I'm on this forum nearly every day and it's killing me that I don't understand what's going on there. Who offended Monkey? Who did he Monkey offend? Why is he taking all this time off from internet?...

Well, whatever it is, Monkey, I hope you're all right.
#298
Are you making use of that lovely parallax/smooth scrolling module you'd made for the first game?
#299
I'm sorry, I love a lot of indie games- Path, Dear Esther and many more. But I just needed to get it out of the system;) Anyway, sorry for interrupting the topic. What were we talking about?

I hated Braid...

Good review though!;)
