As a big fan of www.fat-pie.com and David Firth I have to put forward Salad Fingers:

Very nice, I'm waiting patiently for your game Grim, how big did you plan on making it?

Huge.

I thought I'd post another one... ;) Here's background #105 for The Cat Lady, the living room in a house that's inspired by Maniac Mansion. In this part of the game I've made my own version of the house we all know and love and, well, tried to make it real and scary. The layout of the house will remain also more or less faithful to the original.

It's stupid ideas like this that make working on this game take ages;)

I agree on the cursor- left/right click is definitely the best option here.

So... are we releasing screenshots and stuff? I didn't read all above 'cos it's too bloody late and I'm too tired but it sounds like fun:) Here's one from me  (rejected piece of artwork that didn't make the final cut):

I know. It's a car.

Dual: It's ready when it's ready. Can't speed it up any more-  high res games really do take longer to make... ;)

Mr.Dream: Thanks. Big indeed. 800mb already... ;)

Chicky: Thanks! I hope it won't disappoint you:)

I really like the creepiness of it! But wait... are they meant for 10 year olds learning the piano? I must've got something wrong there...

I could make one or two illustrations for you- if the art is supposed to correspond with the above track then it's something right up my street (and also- black & white ;) )

EDIT: How about something like this:

That's the plan for my daughter as well. but she's only 2 1/2 months, so she hasn't even started to grab fluffy chicken toys yet  :P

Just play some Ben Jordan with her to start her off. I mean, on adventure games, not chickens (unless they're rubber!) :)

You should fear that whatever you try to teach him, he'll choose the exact opposite. ;)

I fear that too.... That's why every morning I put on a pair of knee-high socks + stripy shorts and dance to Basshunter holding a hammer and a drill.... ;) I think they call it ruse haha ;)

Just played and finished it. Absolutely figgin' lovely! :)

And then after this we can make the first one, like a prequel.

I'm sure Icey is already working on that one;)

I promise to "train" my son in adventure games as soon as he gets past the "grab a fluffy chicken toy and repeatedly whack it on the floor as hard as you can" stage. I'd  love to be able to raise my son to love games and make them with me! :)

My only fear now is that he might choose football, DIY and dance music instead.... ;)

I think the best proof that we are still going strong is the on-going Swarm project. Now, that is something special!

Police are never going to take her seriously, I wouldn't worry about that at all. But if they actually turn up at your doorstep you should tell them axactly what you've just written. They'll understand. No one ever got arrested for a gifted t-shirt!

Shame about the relationship, though...

I'd try to find out if that Zack isn't just a lame excuse and the real reason for this odd behavior isn't something completely different. Remember that girls often say one thing but mean something else.... They just seem to think it's better to solve problems this way. To me it sounds like she blames you for something she think you have done. Maybe someone told her some lies about you?... There must be another reason for this anger....

I became a father myself 13 months ago and also felt that bizzare need to post here about it... ;) Sort of made me feel better for sharing it with the AGS crowd;)

My advice to you would be this:

I'm not gonna lie to you- it's very hard at first... People will always tell you that it's the most amazing experience and it's ever so wonderful to be a parent... and yeah, it is when you see your baby smile and you hold it in  your arms when it goes to sleep and you see all these special little things it does that nobody else does...

But there are also times when they cry for hours for no reason. There are times when you are so tired you feel like nothing that'd ever happened has prepared you for that. There are times you worry there's something wrong with them, because they don't want to eat or drink, or look a bit strange, or you think the neighbours will turn up on your doorstep because they can't stand the noise anymore... and there are times, well, most of the time really, when you've only had two hours sleep and you know you have to get ready for work in a minute...when your legs feel like they're made of lead and your head is all messed up...

It gets better, though. You learn how to cope with the crying, and the nappies, and the neighbours. You notice your baby does something unexpected, like all of a sudden making a noise that sounds like "Guybrush Threepwood":) And then they smile and laugh and man, that's awesome when they do that:)

I spent a lot of time holding my son, as it seemed in the first few months it was the only position he would tolerate and then shut up for a while. I figured that while I had him resting on my left arm, all comfortable, wrapped in a blanket, I could still play adventure games, because most of the time they only require one hand to play:) So I played a lot of Ben Jordan. I am so grateful to Grundislav for Ben Jordan games especially, because as stupid as it sounds, they helped me get through a difficult time. It took my mind of things. I wasn't being a bad parent for diverting my attention for a while, I think, but it eased me in into this new chapter of my life, when games can only be played every now an then because of all the responsibilities and all the work you have to do as a parent. Thanks again, Grundi:)

Get yourself some good adventure games and keep them handy- you can only admire your baby for so long at 3 am when it wants to be awake and held by you. There is nothing wrong with a bit of cheating. (well, unless you check Ben Jordan's walkthrough frequently ;) )  I think it's important to remember that this is only a phase and it passes, as everything else. Only people who are baby-crazy enjoy all of it. People who shit out babies for breakfast, you know the type surely- 35 years old mothers who have planned what their babies names will be at the age of 5, they get  mental about this kind of stuff. Normal people get tired and fed up, no matter how much they love their children. It doesn't make you a bad parent if you feel like that.

To sum it all up, I will quote (from memory) what Bill Murrey said in lost In Translation. His words have always stuck with me somehow... Near the end of the film he says (about children) that:" they grow up to be the most delightful people you will ever meet".  13 months in, I already know he was right.

Don't know why but I really chuckled at "Internet with the vampire"... :)

I've done the lab. Wasn't sure where that laser was supposed to be... And there's no mirror or chair but I think they will have to be done as objects anyway?...

Do I send it to Baron?

EDIT: Updated to non-jpg version. It's a png now.

Whatever they do, it won't change things for the better, that's for sure...

Working for NHS myself, I have to say things got tougher the last few months. For nursing staff, like myself. My idea of resolving whatever problems NHS struggles with is to get rid of the number of black-suits that get paid lots more than us for doing... well, who knows what some of them are doing? Some of the recent schemes managed to eliminate some expensive staff, but somehow I don't see any new "foot-soldiers"- pardon my expression- arriving in their place.

The way I see it- more  nurses will ensure patients will have better hospital experience and better care. It wil also ensure nurses go to a work environment they enjoy, instead of a slave-house. You can't expect people to work their asses off for 13 hours, sweat dripping down their necks, and still be able to smile and give everyone the same level of care and attention...

Anyway, I might have totally misunderstood your question, but I'm not into that political mumbo-jumbo, that's all bollocks, really. What it is, is a bunch of people who have no idea what they're talking about making decisions for others, who have to suffer the consequences...  :'(

Okay, here we go with another "guess the song" request.

The night before last, approx. 3 am some nutshell around the block kept playing this song over and over again loud as hell in their car (probably). It was a slow ballad sung by a female vocalist. It stuck in my mind after hearing it like 20 times (before the police shut them down), but I couldn't make out the words.

What I know is that the most recurrent word was "you". Nothing surprising in love ballads, I know. I remember that there was a phrase "about youuuu" with a falling pitch in the chorus (I'm talking only about the chorus here, the rest was too far away to hear), and then something like "I remember (to saayy)" - the part in the brackets may be completely off, it's just there for the rhythm's sake, it was simply two syllablles sang over 4 falling notes.

Now I guess this is too little to identify, but maybe I'll be lucky. Anyone?

Was it Adelle's "Someone like you"? It's on the radio all the bloody time... I figure if someone was to listen to some track over and over again it would be that these days.
