Are you saying that if I want zero scaling in my game,I should use 2 point,can you elaborate more on this.

What I am saying is that if you want to draw i.e. a box in perspective, and you want to be able to measure hight, width and debts so that these measurements are in  scale with each other, you need to use a 2-point-perspective, as illustrated in my drawing. The black lines are where you have the measurements.

So the box that is constructed in the drawing, is 7.5 units high, and 2.5 units wide and 2.5 units deep.

Personally I would not use this method as an aid to draw a person, but if you want to be able to use measurements to construct a perspective drawing, this is a way that you could do it.

I hope this makes it a bit more clear.

This way you could make a box in a one point perspective, and redraw it at a different point.

An easier way is to just determine what the height should be at the new placement. Rescale the original picture with locked proportions to the new height, and your done.

If your question is more about how to in a perspective having the same scale for height, width and depth, you will need a 2-point perspective.

Seven (or 7 1/2) heads high, is a realistic proportion for a grown up human. In game art you often will use proportions where the head is bigger.

You could do it like this

Code: ags

function cCharact_Talk()
  {
  if (cCharact.Room == 14)
    {
      ---
    }
  else if(cCharact.Room == 18)
    {
      ---
    }
 }

One simple way would be to make a black 1024x768 image, position the 512x512 image within that image where you want it to be, and use the new 1024x768 image as background.

Looking for test-players for "Jacqueline White - Bad trouble in the Red Desert"
Made by myself and HandsFree.

It's a non-commersial project. The job is not payed.

It is an adventure game with puzzles and some arcade type mini games. Lots of dialog.
Playing time is about an hour and a half going straight through, if not counting time for figuring out how to solve puzzles and time for making mistakes. Different endings are possible.

There is a "games in production"-thread for the project.
threadhttp://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=50500.0
It might give you some ideas on what the game is about.

Things that are not yet in the game at this point.
- Most of the music. (Sound effects are mostly there, though.)
- A hint system
- Credits page (you could be on it)
- A bonus mini-game that might be added later

No voice acting planned for now, but could possibly be included in a later version if this game is received well.

Only windows version at this time.
--------------------------------------------

Things we are looking for feedback on
- technical problems
- story problems
- typos and language mistakes (we are not native English-speakers)
- generally stuff that don't work or could work better

Also happy to hear about things you might think works well.

If you are interested contact us through PM or mail.

-----------------------------------------------

The game is planed to be distributed with a license/Terms of Use (basically; free to play and to distribute, but not to sell)  [.txt] and a manual [.pdf].
We would like to have feedback on them too.

If you like to look at the documents and comment, without testplaying the game, you have a link to the documents here.

documents zip file

---------------------------------

If there is something concerning test-playing you think we missed - some type of feedback we should have asked for, but didn't - we are happy to hear about that too.

One way to make the game objects clearly separated from the background is to give them a little bit of frame behind them.

A rough example to show what I'm talking about.

There are many different ways to do something like that.

added some colour with transparency. Also more of the board in-game:

Overall it looks quite nice.
It is however a bit difficult to see what is background and what are game elements. My first impression was that the wizard was standing in the hills (didn't see the houses as houses at first). The brown cylinder (cup for dices?)could be seen as a tower on the distant hill (though it should have been out of focus in that case). The hand sort of blend into the background. Is the dragonfly a part of the background? You might want to find a way to make it more clear what is not part of the background.

Are these your original sprites that you are entering into the contest?

Yes they are my original sprites made special for this jam, and yes I'm entering them in the contest. :)

Made a few quick fixes on the face.

The ears in your picture are way to small. The ears should be about from the height of the eyes to the bottom of the nose.

Real brows don't go up that way. Painted on eyebrows might. Moved the eyebrows to a more realistic position.

Eyes. The reflected light is on opposite sides. Moved the left one.

The mouth is to narrow. The corners of the mouth should be about under the pupils of the eye when the person looks straight ahead.  Broadened the mouth. Also made the upper lip darker to make the mouth look stronger.

Don't know if this is what your looking for, but there you are.

Of course it's not a bug. That is a no-brainer.

Nice :)
I think that Robin of Sherwood was a really good series with a lot of interesting turns in it. I remember it fondly. Thank you for reminding me. Happily humming "Rooobin - the hooded man"
