Well, like I said in my post in gen-gen, if you want to be interviewed, PM me and set up a date and time.

Wow!  It's been a little over 3 years but the AGS Podquest is back!

In this edition:

- A review of what's happened in the social scene the past few years.
- A thrilling discussion about the return of adventure games!
- A lot of silly rambling from me and Zooty!

Give it a listen right here

Hello!

You may be thinking, "the interview thing is so cliché! Quit ripping off Vince Twelve's idea, you lamebrain!"Ã,  To this I say, yes, I am not original, but I want to try out something new, and since it's been far too long since the old days of AGS Shows and Operas, I feel the time is right to go forth with my idea: AGS Podcasts.

Not so much a Podcast as me calling up a member of the AGS community on Skype, talking about inane things, recording it, and then posting it for your listening pleasure.Ã,  Anyone who would like to be interviewed by yours truly for a laugh can feel free to PM me and give me the details to set up the interview.Ã,  I will do as many as possible until I get bored with it all.

Now, as this is AGS-themed, I ask a few things:
1. You must either have finished, or be working on, a game* (so we'll have something to talk about)
2. Um...that's it, really.

So, if you're interested, head on over to http://www.skype.com and get Skype if you don't already have it, set yourself up, and let me know!

* This includes OROW games, demos, anything made by AGS that can be played.

Glad to hear you're okay, Darth.  Yeah, Broward definitely got the worst of it this time.

And yes, the weather has definitely been our salvation after this storm.  It was very pleasant to be able to sleep with the windows open and no electricity and NOT wake up drenched in your own sweat.

As I'm sure most of you are aware, Florida recently had the "pleasure" (note extreme sarcasm) of going through Hurricane Wilma, a category 3 storm, on Sunday, October 23rd.

The storm has devastated most of south florida, especially Broward county, which hasn't experienced a storm of this intensity for over 50 years.  Florida Power and Light is estimating that it will take up to 4 weeks to restore power to the roughly 2 million people left without electricity.  I was lucky enough to get my power back at 3am this morning, but I know Darth and Tiki live in Broward county.  Hopefully they're doing okay, and are just extremely bored like I was the past 2 days, and not dealing with anything serious.

On the bright side, even though this storm did a lot of damage, it didn't wipe out entire neighborhoods like some previous storms, and the death toll so far is less than 10 people reported.

I just hope this is the last storm of the season, because this is starting to get ridiculous.

Well, that was fun.

I literally just got electricity back 5 minutes ago.

As I'm sure you know, we had Hurricane Wilma here in Florida on Sunday the 23rd. I have been without power for the past 2 days.Ã,  Therefore, this has been a partial reason for BJ5 being delayed, and, to tell you the truth, after this ordeal, the game is the last thing on my mind at the moment.

So, blame Mother Nature!  BJ5 might be out for Halloween, it might not be. It will be out when it is out.

Please don't compare me to Roberta Williams, Rui.  :P

Yeah, I'd rather this thread be deleted  :P

I took them off the AGS games page for a reason, and had no idea they were still available in the archive.  I'd prefer it if they were eliminated completely.  I am disowning them!

Ha. I took a Linguistics class once, and one of the TAs was Korean (go figure), and her favorite sample sentence was "Elephants don't like peanuts," said of course, "Elephants don't like peanus."Ã,

It was always heartbreaking to see her stand there and look confused when everyone giggled.

Not to upset anyone or anything, but remember the key word is "tentative."  As of right now, the game is still missing several animations that I haven't had time to do, and lots of music that Ghormak hasn't had time to do...so right now the 24th is looking like it's not going to be the date. But it's been completed and beta tested, so never say never!

What about the cliché of the cliffhanger ending?Ã,  Or is it really a cliché?Ã,  They would probably be more effective in a series of games, like the ending of Quest for Glory 3.

So, would a cliffhanger ending make you feel cheated? Excited to see what happens next? Both?

This is purely theoretical of course...it's not like I'm going to have any cliffhanger endings in any of my games...no sir. Never.

;D

If you're serious, then I'd be very interested in that prospect...drop me an email at grundislav@hotmail.com

You can get the demo at http://www.grundislavgames.com/bj5demo.zip

Oh, and I have updated the thread to include the tentative (!) release date

And I have a Question, Would you put some voices this time in the characters?, I think it will give more realistic to the game, but the important thing is that the puzzles being a goodÃ,  challenge to our minds, like the others Cases of Ben

I've thought about it, but decided against it for several reasons:

1. Talkies make a game's filesize significantly larger.
2. It's very hard to find good amateur voice actors and keep the same file quality, volume, etc.
3. I'll only make the series a talkie if I can get John Cleese to play the part of Percival Quentin Jones  :P

I feel like a nerd for even knowing this but...

It's not a walking dead. You can also access the World of Fish by talking to the old man at the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

We were telling embarrassing stories at the pizza place (the night Farlander got drunk on ouzo) in order to get scotch to tell us something.

And I've learned my lesson since then!

I'd like to submit another quote that popped into my head the other day:

the Americans, both really nice people even though I can't decide who dancest cooler.

Are you kidding? If you seriously don't know, I'm not telling :P

Hint: the answer rhymes with "Bisco"

Oh, so it must be "Francisco" thenÃ,  :P

BTW, what was my quote deemed too embarrassing to post?Ã,  I don't recall having said anything terribly embarrassing...then again, I also don't recall doing my former avatar dance at Mittens...damn alcohol!

All these companies are the same.  I work at Target, and it's the same story.  These mega corporations couldn't give 3 rat's asses about the employees.  We had a hurricane last week and the store opened the day after, despite not having any electricity.  They expected us to do our job as normal in the dark and with no air conditioning!

I would quit my job except I need the money. It's sad, isn't it?  In any case, RE, you can get another job, hopefully someplace less evil.

Dream job?

Working with AGSers making games AND getting paid for it?  Yes sir!

Unfortunately, it's gonna take some convincing before I pack up and move someplace else to do it.  Like it has been said, I think the big investment should be made once the first game sells well.  I'm willing to do it, if it means I won't end up under a bridge in 3 months!
