Not to mention there is no set "canon" for Hitchhiker's Guide.  Remember, the books came after the original radio series.  This movie isn't going to follow the book exactly, just like the tv series didn't, just like the book wasn't exactly the same as the radio series.

I have faith that the movie will be good, but we'll see.

I thought Sideways had such subtle moments throughout the whole film. For example, the discussion between Giamatti and Virginia Madsen about pinot noir was beautiful.

But I just like endings that end early. If the film had continued past the end, it would have been really hokey, and that's how I felt about Finding Neverland.

DG, really? You found that conversation subtle?  I agree with you it was well-written and extraordinarily performed, but I found it to be such a blatant metaphor...but maybe that's just the cynical analyzer in me.

However, I do agree that the ending to Sideways was perfect.  (A comment my friend and I made, however, was how the final answering machine message allowed such long pauses without the machine cutting off...that's the movies for you.  )

Surely it's because of his unofficial presence at Mittens.  But that's no excuse for not watching his movies.  Do it. Do it now. You won't be sorry. 

One thing to consider about the 2004 election is that it was by no means a landslide victory for Bush.  I think the end result was Kerry 49% Bush 51%.  I can vouch for Florida and its voting practices.  The day after the election, my univeristy's paper ran a breakdown of voting precints, and Kerry won every single one in Alachua county.  My parents told me that he also won Miami-Dade county and Broward as well.  Now, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a bit of a generalization, but the rest of the counties in Florida are mainly populated by the "conservative Christian" voter.  The big issues in this election, aside from the war, were gay marraige and abortion, two big no-nos in the eyes of the conservative christians in the United States.  Now, the sad thing is that these two issues pretty much determined Bush's re-election.  I'm sure if Kerry had been against the issues, he would have won, but then that's just my opinion.

I remember seeing a news report where they had a group of Americans who were voting for Bush. They asked each person to raise their hand if they had a relative or knew someone who had a relative fighting in the war.  The majority raised their hands.  Then they asked how many knew a gay person who wanted to get married.  Very few, if any raised their hand.  Then they asked them if they knew someone who'd had an abortion.  Again, very few raised their hands.

A friend of mine had this as an away message right after the election.  I don't know where he got it from, and I'm going to paraphrase because I don't remember it exactly, but it went something like this:
When your son comes back from Iraq in a box, as they lower him into the ground, at least you'll have the peace of mind that those damn gays can't get married.

I think the best part of all this is seeing newscasters report the issue with a straight face, and feign surprise that nothing was found.Ã,  Of course, a few local anchors have made sarcastic comments, but overall they have to seem like it's the biggest surprise ever.

I also heard someone report "The United States claims it has no regrets about invading Iraq." I wish the media would stop making George W. Bush = The United States.

Yes, I intend to hold true to that promise.Ã,  Of course, just because I say nine games it doesn't mean that's all I'm going to work on. If I get tired of Ben Jordan I intend to take a break, by doing something else or taking a hiatus.

All I'm saying is, don't expect to see Case 9 before 2006

For those who have played GK1, my example will make more sense. If you remember, there were a couple of times you needed to call some people, and the phone GUI had the numbers, an on/off button, clear, etc. When you dialed the numbers, they showed up on the LED display, and once you dialed 7, the phone rang and the appropriate person answered, or you got a busy signal, that sort of thing.

So, I have a phone GUI. I have each number button as a button on the GUI. I have the LED readout as a text box. I need to know how to script it so each number will appear as it is dialed, and be processed after a certain amount of numbers are dialed, to simulate the call.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
