General Discussion / Re:Kill Bill

I didn't see The Matrix Reloaded, nor do I plan to, nor do I plan to see the 3rd one, but I did see Kill Bill Vol. 1, and let me say I have not had such a great time watching a movie in a while.  It was incredibly entertaining, and while I don't consider myself a Tarantino "fan" per se, my respect for him as a filmmaker has skyrocketed.  I can't wait for Volume 2 to come out, but I plan on seeing Volume 1 at least one more time, because it's just so good.

Hehe yeah Rode, I know exactly how you feel.  Part of the feeling of violation is that fear that they'll return. I remember setting up a trap the last time we were robbed. I put a chair against the door or something like that.  I doubt they'll come back though. Now that you're expecting them, it'd be rather dumb of them to.

Of course I remember! It was the Second Coming of Chris!

(remember? when Chris Jones set up a webcam and we all watched him...uh... yeah)

My sympathies, Rode. My house has been broken into 3 times, and as a result it looks like a jail with all the bars all over the place.

The cops are useless when it comes to robberies, and there really is no worse feeling than thinking some complete stranger came into your home and took your stuff. I hate thieves with a passion. Don't worry though, I'm sure karma will do something good for you soon.

Perhaps you and Tim and Eric can have a hot 3-way, like this!:

QuoteI would give Eric all my Tim Schafer adventure games if he'd do this to me

Looks like you owe Eric some Tim Schafer adventures:

Yeah, that's a problem with the walkable areas.  Just click the walk icon above the emergency exit sign or higher up and you should be fine.

The last game in the trilogy, the one that I've been working on for the better part of 2 years, the game that will probably be impossible to distribute over the internet due to its size, it's...

RETURN TO CARVER ISLAND (aka Carver Island 3)

This game takes place roughly 2 years after the events depicted in Carver Island 2. Francisco is now a senior in high school, completing his IB exams in order to graduate. However, all is not well, as Mrs. Rodriguez returns from the dead a third time, now hell-bent on becoming principal of Carver Island.  Can Francisco save the day a third time? More importantly, can he graduate high school?

FEATURING
640x480 high color graphics!
Fully animated characters and cutscenes!
Voice Acting!
Feeble attempts at comedy!

I've been doing a lot of thinking and have come to the decision to put Granny Zombiekiller on hold.  There are several reasons for me doing this, the main one being that I just don't think I'm in the right frame of mind to make it a good game.  I need to let it stew in my head for a while before I let it out.

I've been working on Carver Island 3 for the past 2 years and I'm close to finishing it.  I feel like I need to depart from the comedy and try my hand at something serious and dark.  I want to make an epic game, which is what I'm going to try and do once I finish CI3.

So, GZ isn't "cancelled" per se, it'll just be a while before you see her, IF you see her.

Good to get that out.

Have you talked with Mrs. Haun on the first floor?  She tells you what Mr. Lindo is afraid of.  Make sure you get the handle from the plunger in the bathroom.  Now take a look at what you've got...anything that can be combined to make something scary?

Hope that helps!

The file cabinet is of no importance.  As far as the new quest, go talk to the people in the Coral Reef office after you get Mr. Lindo fired.

Go to the beach and get the glass from the pile on the right side of the screen, then fill it up with water in the bathroom and use it on the hole you made in the floor

You might have a hard time seeing the door to the far right in the town, but it leads to a store where you can get an item that will help you with the crew member.

The tattoo is just a matter of painting.

Look on the Voodoo Lady's bookshelf for the knot solution.

As for the umbrella, those little drink umbrellas are usually made from small pieces of wood and paper...

Completed Game Announcements / Carver Island 2
Tue 07/10/2003 07:10:03
As promised, here's the 2nd game in the Carver Island trilogy.  It's a bit longer than the 1st one, but still lacks hotspots and skipping cutscenes, so patience is a virtue for those playing.

Anyway, enjoy!

As usual, CJ displays his n00b ignorance...

QuoteCome to think of it, I don't know why these forums are even here... all they do is provide a mouthpiece for you ungrateful kids to mouth off about the latest piece of homework you got (oh, shock horror, you had to do some work!) Meanwhile I'm busting my ass to earn my taxes which pay for your so-called 'education'.

I'm curious, how do your taxes pay for my education?  Does your mickey mouse money magically fly over to the USA and deposit itself in some magical Grundislav account?  And don't make me laugh with that "bust my ass" malarky, we all know you whore yourself out for your income.  The only ass being busted is yours when your male clients get a little too frisky.

QuoteWell you can talk - a team of just 20 monkeys with typewriters could produce better games than you have ever managed, and at twice the rate too!
Yes, I can talk, because I HAVE produced games!  You make your high-and-mighty engine and don't even provide a suitable demo for it?  You couldn't make a game if your life depended on it!  The n00bs around here could make better games than you blindfolded!

QuoteAt least I let people know what my real name is. I don't cower behind my nickname, using it as an anonymous shield. What have you got to hide?
I have nothing to conceal, except maybe a weapon that I can use on you!  God, you make me sick!

QuoteAt least mine decided to stop using [birth control] - from what I hear yours just had a terrible accident.

I'll have to claim responsibility for your parents having you, I should have told your mom to take the pill before we had sex.  Now send me a Father's Day card, you ungrateful brat!

Gurny?  Who is this Gurny you speak of, Panda?  Perhaps you're referring to the hospital gurney you're going to be wheeled out of here on.  And I really admire you insulting my state.  Whooo, that hurts me sooo much.  Incidentally, you must have a really oddly shaped penis if yours looks anything like the state of Florida.  As far as hypnosis, I do nothing of the sort. I don't need to control your mind, mainly because there's nothing in your skull to control!

Andail, I don't need your approval for telling off CJ.  I also don't ALWAYS put down the French.  I have no problems with the French, I only have problems with CJ!  And I wouldn't talk about my country if I were you, since the only Yanks you know about are the ones you perform on your "State of Florida!"
#1320
Oh, it's on now!

The all-mighty CJ has gotten involved, has he?  Well, just because you created AGS doesn't mean I'm going to suck your toes like everyone else around here does.

You, sir, are the epitome of n00b!  You come waltzing into these forums like you own the place, and put on airs like you're some sort of revered diety just because you slapped some code together?  I bet you found the instructions in a cereal box, then just lucked out from there!  Sure, the whole "Oh I'm such a humble nice guy! Blimey!" act may work on everyone else, but I can see through your facade for what you really are: a no-talent hack!

QuoteGrundislav: well oooh la la, aren't you clever and smug there with your analysing.

So, you're really French are you? I knew it all along!  Not to worry though, you can do your fellow countrymen proud and surrender to me in a matter of days!

QuoteIt's a pity your conclusions make as much sense as your deranged nickname.

At least my nickname is unique, unlike you, Mr. I-Have-The-Most-Common-Name-In-The-English-Language.  I'll bet your real name isn't even Chris Jones, it's probably something froo-froo French like "Pierre Pelatier" or something like that.  As far as my conclusions go, if they are senseless, then they can't possibly be quite as senseless as why your parents stopped using birth control!

Go eat a croissant, Frenchie!
