The guy with the "no steam tech" sign arms look a bit off though.
PS - Though, it might not be a problem when animated (I'm assuming these guys are animated with a few frames of waving anger. (laugh) )

Yeah, I captured it at his "hold the sign up high" frame :)

Nice tutorial. I noticed you are wearing similar clothing as the character. Do you feel like this is essential to getting good results?

It certainly helps, especially if the character is wearing a coat or something that will react to movement. It doesn't always have to be the same color, though.

Hello!

I wrote a little tutorial on my blog giving some quick pointers on how to animate walk cycles by rotoscoping them. It's an update to some tutorials I did a few years ago which can also be found on there.

Hope it's of some use!

For my current project it's gone a little something like this:
1. Write out the history and the lore of the world.
2. Write down a summary of the characters and their personalities.
3. Write down a structure for each individual case (including flowcharts)
4. Sketch out placeholder backgrounds and use placeholder sprites, build scenes, write dialogue and make something playable.
5. Add art, edit dialogue, polish gameplay.
6. Get someone to play it.
7. Listen to feedback and make changes as necessary.
8. Rinse and repeat.

Nice! Wonder if he'll be able to get a brush or comb from the dresser... his hair is messy. (laugh)
There are a few in-game jokes about that, especially since his wife is a hairdresser :D

Nice work!  I bet coding the mirror was fun.
Thanks! I just copy/pasted some code from A Golden Wake so it wasn't too tough :)

Because every game about an inner struggle needs a screenshot of its main character looking in a mirror...

AGS Database Entry

The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it's always been like this: disease, hunger, death. The ruling Aristocrats â€" a faceless oligarchy that controls all resources â€" have unchallenged authority. There's never enough food, water, or vaccine to go around. The rich receive regular doses of vaccinations in exchange for their unconditional government support. The poor live in fear, superstition, and squalor until they die.

Amy Wellard, a young woman reluctantly working for the government to qualify for the vaccine lottery, believes there's a cure â€" and she's going to find it. Even if it costs her her life.

A nice little writeup from someone who tried out the game at AdventureX (contains minor spoilers)

Indeed, I watched some of the livestream live and am now working my way though the archived bits. Thanks so much for providing a way to be there without physically being there.

AdventureX has come a long way, and I'm excited to see where it goes in the future!

I'm all for non-traditional conflict types in games.

You could easily make your game a story about Man vs Self. Think of it this way: why is your main character going after this treasure? Is it to prove something to himself or the world? Is it to feed some sort of addiction to adventure and glory? Is it because he thinks his life is meaningless otherwise? You can explore the character's inner struggle and make the the focus of your narrative while still telling an intriguing adventure story. It can be much more interesting than just having a generic bad guy who is also after the treasure.
