It was $360 per person for the Mittens house last year, and according to google, 265 Euros = 360.5855 U.S. dollars, so it comes out exactly the same.

Finished it last night.

First impressions: intense, stressful (I had trouble sleeping last night because of it), emotionally draining.

Story was good, not ridiculous like Fahrenheit, and while there were a couple of plot holes, overall it was enjoyable.

The QTEs were much better implemented than Fahrenheit, letting you focus on the action and feel like you actually had some control, not like watching a cutscene and pressing buttons on Simon pretending you have control.

I'm looking forward to replays to see how much control over the story you really have.

One thing that might be interesting (and I sort of regret suggesting it because I'm way too lazy to ever do it) is to have the game creators themselves do a sort of Let's Play of their own game, but do a DVD-style commentary as they go along, talking about making the game, etc.

Before finishing Case 8 and being completely done forever with the Ben Jordan series, I've decided to go back and rectify the horrible mess that was Case 2.  The original makes me cringe, and since I remade Case 1, Case 2 is now the odd man out of the series.  Soooo, it too is getting the "Deluxe treatment."

Features:
Fully voiced (but no lip-sync)
Extended storyline and better puzzles (No more blowing up safes with dynamite!)
Upgraded graphics (your opinion may differ)

Story: 100%
Scripting:100%
Art & Animation: 100%

I've got a short trip planned at the beginning of June, so any time after the 14th would be good for me.

And CJ, don't worry, I don't think Italy will be as hot as Florida.

I wonder if they'll have specialty drinks named after games.

For example: The Prince of Persia - Makes you run up the wall!

The Fallout 3 - You'll feel like a nuclear bomb fell on you tomorrow morning!

etc etc etc

For your consideration (appropriately whoring out our game):

Back Door Man

for:

Best Dialogue Writing

Best Short Game

Best Player Character - How many other games let you play as a male prostitute?

Best Programming in an Adventure Game - Edmundo's scripting for all the possible outcomes and variables deserves an award!

Well, to be honest Francisco, you're kind of my idol when it comes to AGS (you were totally the inspiration for me getting into this), and if 2.72 is good enough for Ben Jordan then it is good enough for me  ;D

Wow, thanks Bill! I...don't know what to say to that, that's extremely flattering.

Like Ponch, I am also holding off until I finish so as not to have to update all my preexisting code.

Yeah, I've also been using 2.72 forever.  I tried 3 for Back Door Man, but I prefer to stick with 2.72 until I finish Ben Jordan so as not to have the extra worry of learning all the new stuff, but the upgrade is inevitable.

Zooty, no!  Keep it on topic!

Mr Matti: I've done research on the subject, and I'm close to the source.  I know this sounds vague and unfounded, but I don't want to derail the thread any further.  PM me if you want to discuss it further.

Frasier Crane?  I always thought Kelsey Grammer was trying to sound British in his accent, or at least like people did back in movies from the 40s and 50s.  I forget what that accent is called.

America has a higher infant mortality rate than cuba and britain has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in europe.

I just needed to comment briefly on this statement, and I in no way mean to derail this thread, but the reason Cuba has such a "low" infant mortality rate is because the Castro government manipulates statistics.

If a baby dies within the first 24 hours of its life or is stillborn, it's never documented as having been born at all, simply for the purpose of keeping infant mortality rates low.  Also, Cuba is has the third highest abortion rate out of 60 countries surveyed, and the government actively encourages women who have a high risk of giving birth to mentally or physically disabled children to abort.

Anyway, to be on topic, I agree with Zooty: it's better to deal with people on an individual basis.  Also, Zooty fits into the sexy bracket.

It sounds good, aside from a word here or there that sound a bit off, like "band" and "compass."  Otherwise it's pretty convincing.

My favorite part is when the news guy says something along the lines of "why in the world would kids drink kerosene for fun?!"

Maybe he should logically answer his own question.

Mine is GrundislavGames.

I still feel ashamed at the fact that I joined Twitter in the first place, but hopefully someone might get enjoyment from reading me rant and complain about game design.

Hey, I finally got around to uploading a couple of videos I took on the very last night at Mittens where

Disco and Pete got into a knife fight!
and
Limes were used as metaphors

While it's true that nowadays it can be taken to have homosexual implications, we're using it in the original sense, which according to Wikipedia is:

In southern culture, the phrase "back-door man" refers to a man having an affair with a married woman, using the back door as an exit before the husband comes home.
