Those 3 are very nice and fluid, but each one says something different about the character.

The first one is a big, tough, macho type guy.

The second one has a very pronounced limp.

The third one is a very feminine walk.

So really it depends on if that's what you're going for.  Good job, though.

You get as many tries as you like.

Hello everyone!  I'm shamelessly ripping off ProgZMAX's contest idea here, but bear with me.

Have you ever dreamed of being in jail? We've got an empty cell that needs you!

Check it out:

In other words, would you like to make a cameo as a prisoner in Case 7?

Well then all you have to do is the following:

1. Be able to provide a photo of yourself.

2. Guess the game's title.

That's right, in order to make this a little more fun, you have to correctly guess the subtitle for Case 7.  If you go to the official website you can see the title's format, all you have to do is fill in the blanks.

You can PM me with your entries, but please try to reserve it for serious guesses only.

Also, people who went to Brittens/Mittens and already heard me say the title there are not eligible to participate in this contest.  Sorry guys.

This contest will run until December 24th, 2007 at which point I'll announce the winner and the title, or just the title if nobody is able to guess by then.

So, to get things started, I will provide the first clue.  I'll be providing another clue next month, and then a final give-it-away clue in December, if nobody has guessed by then.

CLUE #1: Spiders and scorpions hear.

Good luck!

Update 11/1/07

Congratulations are in order for GarageGothic who managed to figure it out!  I'm very impressed, I honestly didn't think anyone would figure it out before the 2nd clue.  But, through his resourcefulness and smarts, he got it.

Another thing you could consider doing is breaking your game up into a series of short episodes.  This way, you can make an epic story if you want, but only have to worry about doing one chapter each time, which makes development a lot easier.

As Progz said, focus on making your game something you would want to play if you hadn't been the designer.

Hints & Tips / Re: Ben Jordan 6

There is no variation depending on the answers you give Professor Sanbourne.

The point that's easy to miss is

Spoiler
Talking to Simon, Alice, and Professor Sanbourne about Sirens after learning about them from the Oracle.

InCreator: Go ahead, if you want.  Just be nice to the characters, please.  :)

motukutonga:
Spoiler
The Oracle wasn't a trickster, she just wasn't "all-knowing" as you put it.  She just knew about stuff on land, like everyone else.  Also, the King of the Sea People makes it clear that the monster is the last of its kind.

Here are a few fun things to try that you may have missed the first time around:

Spoiler
Did you try talking to the campers at night?

Did you try going into the campsite after seeing Alice go with Vaggelis?

How about going back and answering different things when talking to Professor Sanbourne?

Reading these has been very interesting!  I'm glad to see people are paying attention and picking up on stuff.  Keep them coming!

Now, not to be too spoileriffic, (is that a word? oh well, it is now) but I felt I should respond to a few of them.

Stupot:
Spoiler
An interesting idea, but I can assure you there is no "big conspiracy."  The Knights Templar are not behind any of the stuff going on.  There is a main "source" linking everything together, but it's not on a global scale or anything like that.

olafmoriarty:
Spoiler
Of the 3 paragraphs in your theory, one of them is correct.

Jhumjhum:
Spoiler
You have definitely got some of the right ideas...just not exactly the right ones  ;)

Also, for those who have REALLY been paying attention:
Spoiler
The link between the subject of Ben's dream in Case 6, the matter of the tombstone in Smailholm, and Alice can kind of be found out by stuff both in the games and included with them...
[close]
But it will be explained fully by the end of the series if you're still stumped.

This game is great.  Incredibly atmospheric, brilliantly written, and superbly acted (although I may be biased on that one  ;))

Lauren Blackwell is definitely my favorite AGS game character, maybe even my favorite character of any adventure game.

I'm was disappointed in the colour of these cups Mister!

Ha, I considered making them blue for a split second, but I figured that's been done to death, and didn't want to make such an obvious reference.  If it makes you happy, there is a blue cup in Case 7.

Also, I'm curious to hear your theories!
#890
So, went ahead and announced it, did you?  ;)

I offer all the support and encouragement I possibly can for you to finish this project, because what I've seen looks amazing.

Hey, Grundislav - how come you haven't pimped your developer diary in the forum? I only discovered it by accident today. Interesting reading, and that background for BJ7 looks awesome. Does the San Silvestro church actually play a part in the game, or is it just a setting for more Vatican intrigue? I researched it a bit and saw that they allegedly have the head of John the Baptist there (hmmm, "The Baptist's Head" would fit with number of letters for the title, though it rather conjures up images of decapitated rednecks). The head of Baphomet, the Knights Templar... I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I believe in viral marketing.  Obviously, it worked!

I'll let you come up with your own theories regarding the role of San Silvestro for now.

Grundislav Games proudly presents:

Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator
in
Case 6: Scourge of the Sea People

The Story

Following Alice's near-fatal poisoning in Japan, the paranormal investigating trio decides a vacation is in order. Traveling to Greece, they find themselves in the remote fishing village  of Agia Anna. However, they soon learn that even while on vacation their work is never done. It seems that ancient creatures of legend known as the Sea People have been emerging from the ocean at night and dragging villagers down to the depths to eat them.

Ben, Simon, and Alice must investigate and stop the SCOURGE OF THE SEA PEOPLE!

Hey, I just remembered. Didn't someone take a picture of Kevin and I wearing moose hats in the back room of the Bayfield General Store?  Where is that picture?
#894
I never realized what a scary monster I am!

So all that Fop stuff made me forget that I had actually taken more video at Mittens!

Here are some clips, more to come:

Seriously though, given the trouble some people have at "crossing the pond", I think it's only fair to hold next Mittens in Europe if the last one was in America. Also, we should try to hold one in Australia one of these years.

This really goes both ways, as you're going to have people on either side who can't/won't come every time.  Australia would be great, but we've already tried that once and it didn't work.

Also, I don't really think the "it's fair to hold it in Europe because it was in North America last time" argument is valid, considering the first 2 Mittens were in Europe, followed by the USA one, then two more consecutive European ones before this year's in Canada.
#898
I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to make it.
#899
The main reason I started this thread was because, not having been in the van on the way back, I didn't know that France had been officially decided as next year's location.  As this is the case, I add my support to it.

But I still call dibs on '09!  ;D
#900
Alright, but let it be known that I'm calling dibs on Mittens 09 being in Miami!
