Hello everyone,

This year in Canada we tossed around a few ideas for the location of next year's Mittens.  Nothing concrete was decided, but there were a few suggestions for France.

I'm all for France and think it would be fun, but I am also presenting a second option just in case nothing happens with it.  If we do go with France, then consider this my bid for 2009.

I would like to host Mittens here in my hometown of Miami, Florida.  I've been looking and found that there are indeed camping areas within the city, and not way the hell out in the middle of the swamp as I previously thought.  One I was browsing offers cabins that sleep 14-16 for $169 a night, and has a pretty decent location.  If we did like this year and rented a van, it would be easy to get around and go anyplace within the city.  I'm sure there are also other places with comparable rates, so that's good to know.

So, my reason for starting this thread is to ask two questions: the first is, if we do France, who will organize?  The second is, if we don't do France, who would be interested in Mittens Miami?  (Same question applies if we do France).

Ask and you shall receive!

I'm back, just got home.  Both my flights were delayed, and I stupidly forgot that maple syrup is a liquid, so they made me surrender it to security as I didn't check my bag.

But all that aside, Mittens was amazing.  I loved seeing all the old faces and meeting the new ones, and laughing all week about stuff like Clumsy Fop and "I'm comin ova now!," the alternate Bible and the sand in the water.

I only took 3 pictures, but I took lots of video, so I'll get that edited and uploaded ASAP.

I'll be bringing my Venture Bros DVDs, to bring some of our American culture to Canada.

I would like to see Toronto, but preferably as a day trip during the week and not a rush job at the end with everyone's luggage to worry about.

I agree with Quintaros, if someone can put us up in Toronto I'd be a lot more open to doing it at the end.  I don't want to lose the money for our last day in the cabin and on top of that have to spend more on a hotel room.

Dave the Driver also gave these sage words of wisdom:

*"In life you've only got two friends: your mother and the pound in your pocket. Once your mother's gone, you've lost your best friend in the world.  After that, all you've got is the pound, and everyone's trying to take it away from you."

Right, so I've been uploading my videos.  They can be found here.

All of them should be up in the next few days.

I have arrived home, safe and sound.  I took very few pictures, but a whole lot of video....so much I'm considering making a DVD!

I'll get some stuff up over the next few days, right now bed...and then back to work!

EDIT: Here are all 20 of my pictures!

I still have to watch all my video and edit it, so that'll be a few more days.

The first AGS game I've played in a while, and what a treat it was to play, too!  An impressive first effort.  I'm looking forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Unless a ghost stabbed his tire, I don't think Ben Jordan would be very much help.

I bet we could go through years of Mittens photos finding 'ghosts' in the pictures :)

You're absolutely right!  Just now I was looking through some old Mittens photos and I found this:

The proof is irrefutable!

Who knew? If They Mated, Guybrush Threepwood and Indiana Jones would produce Conan!

Please finish this game!

Stratford Upon Avon is the biggest tourist trap ever.  I ate at the Shakespearean McDonald's, where we had a Big Mac"beth".

...and I'd spend the whole day talking to him as him until he killed me.
