I wonder what's the biggest sized item you could fit in her inventory  :=
You can only imagine.. But it's SO the second biggest inventory holders I've ever seen. No-one can beat Guybrush's pants. He can fit a dog in there!

My opinion: By adding a topic in Completed Game Announcement, including a link to mags website and this tread, way we can also "promote" the competition, in the terms that it's visible elsewhere.

Agree with 1$ on the statistics and the short-based comments during the game and voting period.

Lots of people this month. xD

Yup, looks promising! Keep up the good work everybody! ;D

Like I said, the solutions are often easier than you think.
Even easier than I thought!

thanks for the positive feedback!

I will definitively make more games in the future, however only if I get the right idea.. ;)
#74
no problem :)

If it's one thing I've learned about scripting, it is that the solutions often are easier than you think.

Good luck with your game!

I would make a global variable to help you out. Set the initial value to 0. The you can use the if-else code to check the value of the variable. If the value is 0 the player hasn't interacted with the phone yet, so the spoken replay will occur. You will then set the variable to let's say 1, and then the next time the player interacts with it, the script run the script where for example the phone is dead.

also in my opinion plain white for wall/floor/roof colour must be used with care, or else it can look "unfinished".
#78
simple doesn't need to be a bad thing. Some colours on the walls/floor and it will look a bit better. Try one colour for the horizontal walls, and a slightly darker for the vertical walls for example. The map/globe-background looks pretty nice if you ask me.

Creating backgrounds, layers is a pretty good thing. I reccomend Photoshop by adobe. Paint Shop Pro by jasc software is also a good tool. But it's pretty much up to which program/interface you feel comfortable with.

At least that's my opinion ::)

Thanks Tijne, and thanks for all the votes! It's nothing like a close contest.

And for the August guidelines, it will be posted August 1st I guess..
