Orson Welles in the Original Hipster?

Of course, no role he played will ever be as accomplished as that of Unicron in the Original Transformers the Movie.

The dinosaurs were prehistoric
Their roars considered stereophonic
But to try and create one would be moronic
Because they'd probably eat ewe [sic]

New word: Gondola

Edit: I was too slow! Dammit.
Edit 2: and my last line probably didn't rhyme... but that did... I think

EDIT 3:

The last two posts suffered a convergence
Which resulted in a problematic divergence
Which new word to use?
It was sure to confuse?
Problem solved by this third edits emergence

New word: Gondola (again)

I'll still leave it open to someone else to continue - early bird gets the points worm.

Ok, so my detailed solution is - 1 point for any of the following letters - q o p a d g b e Q D A B* O P R
(letters which have ringed off areas / fully enclosed spaces / holes in them)

*would this have been worth 2 points?

Tbh I suspect many other people were on to the same theory so I can't take much credit - Baron's post about horizontal lines got me thinking on this track.

Happy to pass baton for starting new puzzle to someone else

I was going to guess it's the number of fully enclosed spaces e.g. o but I count 13 in Stupots first sentence when only 12 points were awarded.

Watching thunderstorms in the dark. Gets me every time - be they overhead or out at sea. As others have said - this is even better when somewhere that amplifies the splashing of rain drops - like in a caravan, conservatory, car etc.

Great collection and massive thanks for making available.

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Re: Firewatch

I just hope it doesn't turn into another Alan Wake (although I did still enjoy that game - just wasn't at all what I expected, felt it could have been more).

Also, as a geographer, I'm an explorer at heart and therefore a sucker for open world exploration games like this - as you mentioned, it's that sense of the unknown.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

Trailer has got me very interested, hopefully it will be an intelligent adventure mystery with an emphasis on story and character development. Mfw it turns into a zombie shooter.

Out in a month!

What would be really cool is if Sox room had a glass ceiling and the room above was Groks!

I think they are both most excellent - but there is a simple charm about Groks (plus the fact it looks like you get a free drink) so that gets my vote

Hmm...

Spoiler
Rog has been given a capital R which suggests to me it's short for Roger... so could it be we need to remove Roger from Frogger to leave just 'Fg'

Scramble that into Oilfields....

Fillies d Fog - the less heralded sequel to Gorillas in the mist.

Dinosaur bands!

Spoiler
Dinosaur Jr
Jurassic 5
T-Rex...

Although just seen the latest post - good work with ZZ Top?

Spoiler
I got excited and thought 'break rules' might be 'd' as it turns rules into ruled. But I expect the putting the zz in rules is correct also.

Spoiler
So, riding entirely off the good work of Mandle - is it 'Puzzles'? Scooby Doo would pronounce Puzzles as Ruzzles.

Edit - looks like I wasn't the only one to mount Mandle and ride him to victory.

My assumption is:

Spoiler

EA sports bit means 'ea'
arabic script... not sure about this.
officer = major

So that makes Ea.. Major.

So my matter of deduction the answer is "Easy Major"... the camp comedy adventure about a promiscuous army officer rogering his way to victory.

Ingenious - like a beast with three backs we rode to victory... that's what I like to claim anyway.

QuoteOoo! Haggis, you are so close I'm surprised you can't smell it!

I'm afraid my personal stench is too overwhelming.

Riding on the back of Mandle...

Spoiler
Removing ALL the S&T&Ds leaves:
arry augher
Two left hand guns in the air... the only thing i can think of here is that the two rr's look like guns (not sure why left handed), flip them upside down into L's(??) leaving:
ally augher
There you have it - ally augher aka Alley Ogre, legendary adventure game based loosely on Shrek's big move to the city.

We have a winner! Good job.

And to break it down:
Spoiler
Who is rudely brief = curt is
trimmed = curtis
put's on women's clothing and hangs around in bars = his occupation as a lumberjack in Broken Age (lyrics from the Monty Python Lumberjack song)
