Messages - He-Man

Yeah, thanks for the review. It must have taken forever to listen to and review all those songs. I think it was worth the wait!
Too bad I didn't win. I was so close to being a Grand Slam Champ...
Btw it was very nice to see/hear so many entries this time. Great contest.

I vote [lgm]
I love the mute of the song and the guitar/bass or whatever scratchings are very cool.
#23
Voting would be a good idea if he doesn't show up soon.
But hey, give the man a little time. It's only been like a day since the contest ended...
Also, I would love to see a small review of every song like there usually is after a tune contest. If we just vote that probably won't happen. Unless of cause some one else does it...
I can't wait to find out who's the winner!

I finally manage to make a some what desent mix out of this song.
I'm not completely happy with the result yet but I decided to enter before it was too late.
Here's the picture:

And here's the song:

I also thought of the picture below when making this song but I thought it was too offensive to actually use for my entry...

Feel free to pick the picture you find most fitting...

Enjoy!

Stay up really late and take drugs.
This not a bad surgestion, but you should not nessecary expect the result to be good.
I once made an entire poem collection where I made a rule that said that I could only write when I was stoned. Just to check out if it was true that you get more creative when you are on drugs. I wouldn't say that you do, but the result definitely gets a different edge to it that when you are sober.
Sometimes it helps to get away from the project for a while and maybe work on something else.
Good luck...

I will join this competition after Easter.
I get home from a small tour in Holland, Belgium and Germany monday and I'll join shortly after.
I already have some ideas...
Cheers

Something that was discussed in the past and many people liked, is a list of "if you like this game, you might also like <foo>".

Here's how that works: if you rate a game, you get to type one game that (you believe) is similar. When other people look at the game, the interface lists the top three of those "also" games that had three or more nominations.
If I understand this correctly you want a system like fx IMDB where the bottom of a movie's page says "If you like this movie then you might also like these movies..." and then there's a couple of surgestions.
I think that would be a super idea.
I also second LimpingFish's idea with the different categories. It would make it easier to find the games you where looking for...

I also like the cutscene idea. Maybe you should call it movie competition or something since there is no game and the film you produce would technically not be at cutscene.
I agree that 5 minuttes is a long time. There's a big change that the movies will get boring a that length. I would say that 3 minuttes is more than enough. But then again that could also be up to the guy started the competition.
Well, enough of my ranting. I just wanted to say that I like the idea...

Song: A Wilhelm Scream - Soft Cell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Iq2uyeRtmU

Comments: The song is taken from their 2006 album Ruiner. I think it's the best album of last year. I you are into punk and/or metal you should check it out.

How I discovered it: I heard about the band from a website where I was looking for guitar tabs. I bought one album and I was hooked. Now the band is one of my favorite bands.

Fun Fact: I don't know any really fun facts about this song but I'm not even sure it's the best song of the album...

It is very good. It's got a lot of Monkey Island 3 feel to it.
Her face is a little masculin but that might just be the hair.
I assume she is walking otherwise the pose is a little strange...

This is an Amazing idea for a thread.
Great songs so far especially Rincewind. The Mars Volta rocks.

Song: Mighty Midgets - Bon Apartheid

Comments: Dainish punk rock with a twist of something else. Since Denmark is a pretty small country not many people know about the band.
It's a song against the Dainish National Party that is turning a lot of Dainish people into racists. Good melody and good message.

How I discovered it: I found it on their website. It's from their upcomming 7" with the band Stars Burn Stripes.

Fun fact: I wrote the song!

Yo yo.
The final moment has come and it's time to pick a winner.
Thanks to the three of you for entering. All three entries were good and also very different.

Hammerite - Very noisy. I have listed a bit to noise music (mostly because some of my friends are into the scene) but I find it pretty hard to understand. But you track still manage to capture to chaotic feeling of a riot.

Oz - Really cool track. The sirens and the police radio thing really go well together with the music.

Bartillier - Also a very nice track. But like you mentioned your self it seems a little unfinished especially the drums. Work a little on it and you have a good soundtrack for a riot.

And the winner is:
Bartiller!
The other tunes were good but yours was superb in my opinion. You really managed to capture the feeling of a riot. Very well done...

You start the next contest...

Wow, Oz. That was an amazing track...
Anyone else want to join in?

I also found Borat very funny and it definetly does not belong on this list of films.
Sacha Baron Cohen (who plays Borat) is a Jew himself, so I doubt he thinks that Jews are evil or whatever. I love the way that he is able to get the worst out of everyone (also with his characters Ali G and Bruno). He makes people do and say things that really say a lot about who they really are behind their facade.
I think it's nice to see a movie that have the guts to take a piss on everyone. I actually think the humor is able to break a lot of tabus. Political correctness sucks!
BTW I don't see what's so offensive about masterbating. I do all the time...

I was taklking about the new one. That was horrible...

I forgot to mention Ninja Terminator.
It's about some ancient ninja statue which is divided into three parts and when a ninja puts all three parts together he gets to be the ultimate ninja - The Ninja Terminator. Meanwhile there is a total unrelated plot going on with some journalist who get attacked by masked ninjas all the time. The plot of the movie make no sense which is funny enough in it self but the crappy acting and fight scenes really makes it all perfect...

The He-Man movie was also very funny because it was so bad. I think it's called Masters of the Universe.
Most of the movies I've seen starring Dolph Lundgren has been pretty shitty. I remember one movie - I can't remember the title though. In a scene he surprises this girl and she says: "Oh, I didn't hear you come." Later on there's a sex scene between the two (of cause) and it ends with the gril saying: "Ah, this time I heard you come..." or something like that. That was so corny I couldn't stop laughing. That movie also had a lot of crappy acting and stunts.

So far 750 people are arrested and 197 in jail. Denmark is a small country and this is one of the biggest police actions ever in the country.
The reason for the riots and protests is that about 20 years ago Copenhagen gave a house to squatters to use for their koncerts and activities. A couple of years ago the house was sold to a Christian organisation. This resulted in years of strugling with the Dainish justice system because the squatters felt had the right to the building since they were given the key to the building as a present from Copenhagen. The court decided that the Christian organisation had the right to the building and Thursday the police emptied the house. The mayor of Copenhagen and her fellow politicians have not done anything to find a solution to the problem and now the squatters and punks are "houseless" and angry!

BTW it was nice to hear your entry Hammerite. I hope more will follow soon...

The Fog is bad, but definitely not so bad it's good. Just so bad that any sane person would turn it off after half an hour. Man, that movie sucked!
Snakes on a Plane was also bad. I thought it would have been so bad that it was good but it was also just bad. It was good enough to sit all the way through. So it wasn't as bad as the Fog. But then again, the Fog was really bad.
This is a bad post. I'm sorry about the bad post. It was really, really bad. But then again probably not bad enough to be good.
