check out the first post.
This was a mistake!

This is my script:

function object1_a() {
Ã,  // script for object1: Ext.modes object
Ã,  Ã, if (UsedMode("open")){
if ((GetGlobalInt (1))==1){
DisplaySpeech (EGO,"I can't reach it!");}

if ((GetGlobalInt (1))==2){
Ã,
Ã,  if (GetObjectGraphic (1)==140){
// if door is closed

SetObjectGraphic (1,141);
RestoreWalkableArea (3);}
Ã,  if (GetObjectGraphic (1)==141){
// if door is open

SetObjectGraphic (1,140);
RemoveWalkableArea(3);}
}Ã,  Ã,
}
}

I want the the object's grafic to change between open and closed.
The player character just walks to the door and nothing more...

The original is the best... Simple and pretty
I like the trees and bushes very much.
This could end up being a really cool game if you fit the gameplay to this simplistic style of your...

I've just made this sprite and I would like some C&C on it! Maybe even paintovers...

This guy is supposed to be the EGO in the new game I'm working on.
The game takes place in some sort of twisted fantasy world like Lord of the Ring on drugs.Ã,  Well, I haven't really figured the entire plot yet...

EDIT:

Thanks for all the great c&c!
I've changed this guy a little!
Sorry to all you wierd-nose-hateers, but the nose stays!
So does the sneakers. It was supposed to be funny and it fits the style I'd like to use for this game.

x2
On the backview: it's supposed to look like you strap the armor on like a bra.
Major thanks to InCreator for his paintover. As you see I stole your idea...

Hi

Here's my song.
I've sampled my voice and made a little stupid song out of it!
I think it went OK, maybe except for the drum sounds!

You can hear it here:

Yo yo!

Really nice background. The cartoonish style rocks!
Though the background was good in the first place I added a few things:

1. Changed wall colours slightly om the celling and back wall.
2. Added a few shaddows.
3. Changed the window and the door so they fit their walls, respectivly. They do not fit into the overall perspective of room to keep the cartoonish style intact.
4. Stole the idea to the things outside the window from Darth Mandarb...

I hope you can use some of my changes.

The very fact that you added "very fast work" below the first background makes me sort of cross my arms...if you by that mean that it would be better if you gave it just a normal share of attention, then why not do that first and publish it afterwards?
'Cause then you will manage without our c&c until you have reached a level where it will be cruicial to make you progress...that level isn't reached yet.

The second bg is substantially better, mainly because there is some sort of depth, which is important for scenes in an adventure game, although it's also minimalistically furnished and detailed.

Well, first of all I already published this background in the beta version of the game. I just did the game to learn the scripting of AGS since I'm very newbee. Everything in the game was done very fast.
Due to a very great response on the game I decided to change the grafics of the game for the better. So I thought i would start by asking what you guys thought could be better. I thought i would give me a place to start. And it allready have!

Secondly, this game is not an adventure game. It's more some kind of shoot 'em up game!

You can try it here if you'd like:

Critics' Lounge / MAFIOSO OVER KILL Background

HI.

After getting a lot of possitive respose on my game MAFIOSO OVER KILL (thanks to everyone who said something nice, I did not expect that at all), I decided to make a couple of levels more and improve the backgrounds and sprites a little.

I thought that maybe you guys could comment a little (much if you like) on these backgrounds.

This one is in the game allready and it needs a lot of work to look good:
The broken windows are not broken in the game. At least not untill you shoot at them!

Really fast work! Especially the roads.

This one is new. It's supposed to be inside the building:
I've made transpararent windows. I lthink that they look quite great. But they are objects so you can't see them here!

I think it needs more detail!

Thanks again

Hi

Very nice animation! But try checking out the bottom of his left foot.
Just before he lifts the foot the's a missing pixel or two, it leaves a white spot on the foot.
Other than that it's really good!

oh and one more thing... I think that the charcter would look better  if you either shaddowed the entire character or added no shaddow at all...

Great game!
The music and the backgrounds are really good!

I've just played DEMON DAY and I enjoyed it!

The grafix are allright and especially the demon is really funny!

The two "photo" backgrounds don't really look that good though. Change those and the overall impression of the game would be better...

Hi there!

I've just finished my first game! And I'm really NewBee!
Well, actually it's just the a beta version, but it's THE official beta version.
I did this game to learn how to use AGS, so the game pretty much suck...
It's a shoot the shit out of everyone on the screen kind of game. I thought that would be easy to make rather than creating a plot, puzzles ect.
I guess I was wrong!

The game is in 640x400 and 16bit colour!

The story:
You are in a SWAT Team. An alien mafia has taken over a city.
Your mission is to kill all the aliens in the city!!!

Well, check it out. It's kind of fun while it lasts...

My question: Where did you get these awesome violin etc. samples?

Did you record them yourself or did you download them?

Well, I've used Reason 2.0. The program contains two different samplers, two different synthesizers, a loop player and a drum computer. Futher more there is a lot of different effects.
It really worth checking if you are into creating music! (And I don't even paid to say that) The only downside is the price, it's quite expensive.
The strings (among many others) are samples that come with Reason. It's recorded from real instruments note by note...

As answer to the midi question: The notes of the music could be tranfered into midi, but I don't really dig the sound of midi istruments, unless of cause it's in old classic games. But then again, I would properbly find Maniac Masion even better if had a listenable soundtrack. I've just spent to many hours listening to midi music...

P.s. I love Maniac Mansion!

thanks!

well, I thought of some sort of medieval story.
Maybe a Monkey Island kind of game with humorus twists and intertextual references to my favourite games.

After listening to my tune again I think it might fit better as intro/outro music. Or maybe a completely different game.
The hiphop kind of feel was ment as a funny twist to the sad and classic compossion. But I guess that didn't really work out that well...

I'd still like to hear other peoples oppion!

Hi there...

I'm pretty new to AGS and this community.
I've just created a piece of music I would like some comments on...
I've pictured it as the background track of my first game...

I think that it might be to monotonous and maybe to sad as well. What do you guys think, and do any of you have surgestions for improvements?

you can listen to the track here:

www.5feetunder.com/stille.mp3

You might need to right click and "save target As.."

Thanks
