A moral examination of actions and consequences of a given war. Morality while in the proccess of war, being involved in a war. Not the same thing. Andail is making moral judgements on this historical situation you're discussing, and ( I read your above quoted reply as meaning ) that morality is 'innaplicable' during war. I really don't see the problem with discussing various viewpoints about a historical situation, and how they fit in in a moral context. If you're saying that during a war, people step aside of their own ( usually absolute) ethics ( christian, in this case, where 'every life is sacred') and into the realm of utilitarian 'I must make the choice that will mean the loss of less lives as possible' morality, then say it. That's still an ethical standpoint, and can be discussed.

I'm glad to see everybody liked mittens. I apologize again for the campsite woes, I hope the unpleasant stuff will fade away and only the awesomity will remain. Sorry I did not accompany you to the parthenon, but I've seen it a gazillion times, and it was out of the way.

I was very glad to meet up with veteran mitteneers and new people alike. Disco is a cool guy, Glodmnu's wife, Dominica is an excellent person and Lore can if she wants, can come back to greece and live with me as my personal servant instead of being stuck with Farl. Petteri who I never met before was very nice and his games look awesome. Grund was a big surpize for me because while I never had any problems with his internet persona, in real life he's a million times better. This seems like an insult of some sort but it isn't! I was very pleasantly surprized. Scotch came out of his shell a lot, and it's cool because he's a funny, smart guy. Now he's off to join a club, or something. Jerk. Farl, Andail, Glodmnu and myself rekindled ye olde Swittens '02 nonsensical broken english hilarity. nothing of the magnitude of 'You are very smart' or 'Use your brown eye' was mentioned, but bits and pieces were hysterical. There was much adventure gaming discussion, and most people left inspired to make things. I know scotch, myself, grundy and chrille are working on games directly or indirectly influenced by the stuff talked about. Seriously, besides the funny stuff, if someone was to keep notes, the game theory discussions would make the basis of a good resource I think. As far as wealth of information and stimulating discussion goes, Grittens was awesome. 

There's so much these pictures cannot capture (and also a lot of stuff that they SHOULDN'T have - I'm looking at you, whoever took the picture of mod's nuts). Now that the tiredness has faded all that I can remember is how much I enjoyed your company. I wish there could be teleporters so we could hop in and have mittens whenever we feel like it, without 231256 hours of insanely tiresome travelling. Just make sure you don't give the teleportation details to Esseb.

Mods will post his highlights/midlights/lowlights list soon, along with his pictures I hope. Dominica, being a professional photographer should also grace the thread with a few developed ones! They are - would you believe it - for an article that Glodmnu was supposed to research on his trip to Greece, hah I have taken no photos sans those taken with my HEART CAMERA and the film in that one will never be develop... what am I saying?

Spainttens next year is a very strong possibility, and the rates will be cheap, Farl promises a nice place ( with no annoying screaming children like this time. It's not my fault they can't contain their painful yelps when I punched them! ) and so no excuses! Everybody should come.

well the first thing that came to mind when I heard about the crash was 'oh hell did a sizable chunk of ags people, including the creator, just die?'. The later abstraction that indeed no matter who they were, a lot of people died, and that that's horrible no matter what, didn't come until a bit later.

Please, can someone say that this one is good because I'm sick of hearing complaitments all the time (I know it's the Critic's lounge but it can't be THAT bad?).

Most of the constructive stuff has been covered by loominus' excellent posts. Without a VERY VERY ADVANCED understanding of all the underlying aspects of cartoon drawing, you have no chance to emulate the DOTT style (sic). It will not come through trial and error, at least, not in due time, and never assuming an essential understanding of this type of art. At best just by looking at DOTT graphics the best to expect is marginal apings. I urge you to buy the Loomis book or in fact, any other beginner cartoon-type art book you can find, and forget the shortcuts because they do not exist. Most of the people that just decoded various aspects of art like contrapost, curve against line, curve against inverted curve etc etc etc just by LOOKING at art and not actively STUDYING it, are very very talented. You are not talented in art. And while your art might not be THAT bad, comparing it to DOTT would call for protest, naturally. I suggest you either go 'back to school' (this is not that school) so to speak in the arts, or aim for something significantly lower than DOTT. It's not every amateur adventure game that has to mimic, or ape, commercial graphics of old.

And a final note: once again, you fail to be courteous to people trying to help you here. Maybe you should reconsider your attitude.

Glodmnu: having a lot of experience with KTEL busses, we will basically just go there and wait, yeah. And we won't be getting the twice a day bus unless we're extremely lucky in the timing. We'll be getting the more frequent bus that goes two villages outside. We will be having to get a cab from either bus anway, and it's so many of us the cab fares are going to be divided by 4 each...

And CJ, we seem to be in the clear about the tents, but there's a slight possibility that the campsite will not have 2 but 1 tent I've been told. Tell you what, buy the tent, I'll pay half the price since I don't have a tent either.

if we have as many tents as that, hopefull the camping will also have 2 tents for rent or so so we're there, barely. Still, if anyone else can bring, do so!

Yes Chrille. Bring the tent. We have 10 spots for 18 people, even if everybody else brings a 2 man tent, that leaves one spot for your solitary little tent, you jerk.
