well... the hard part's over then, isn't it? Just a few metaphorical boulders left to push out of the way and you're almost done.

Regardless of whether this is of my taste or not, here's some critique:

The singer's voice doesn't have the necessary qualities to be convincing in this idiom.

Furthermore, the quality of the recording destroys any chance for immersion as you can hear the mic hiss and the silly accoustic guitar go strum strum in a small room. For Gothic to work, you need to be transported to another place. Since you like Joy Division, go listen to Closer, and it's quirky production. Notice how everything gets tinned out and reverb-washy? Does it sound like a guy with his accoustic guitar in a small room? Don't bring attention to the recording means, unless you're confident they enhance the feeling of the song. The current do not. Sparseness is very unforgiving.

The lyric is trite. Many gothic bands, while morbid in many ways never forgot their sense of irony. Check out Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy or even Joy Division again. I guess if the singer was at least somewhat convincing maybe I wouldn't mind the angsty lyric so much. I can respect any kind of music that sounds passionate. When I listen to a song, I presuppose the song means a lot to the people that made it, and regardless of whether it's intended for me, or if I get it, they're making it because they're compelled and passionate about it. When this isn't the case, I feel kinda let down.

I think I know what the problem is. When I imported the 'ingress' button, I set the black to transparent, so unless you click on the WHITE of the letters, it won't register the onmouseclick.

Silly of me, but easily avoidable for you.

Thanks, junk. Like that you like. Don't hold your breath on full games from me. More likely to make another orow game if we have a sequel competition.

We are booked. Exact moneys will be posted soon. I'll have to downpay a part of it but eh, you guys will pay me back in trade when you get here.

This was made for the one room one week compo. It lost. If you haven't played, give it a whirl, it's ok. I did everything but some of the writing, which Unilin did. A guy you don't know playtested a little. As it goes, it was made in one week so it's not the epitome of cleanly-made, therefore. Even if I had more time, I'm not very good with scripting, so it's unchanged from the compo version. Read the info before playing, as there's some known bugs.  This was intended to be played in 640x480, windowed with sound on and NO AUTOMATIC AA on the characters, but suit yourself. It looks bad in 320x240.

There will be no screenshots or anything else to lure you to play this. The point of the compo was to make a game in one room, so I won't spoil anything.

Get it here.

The dates will not change. The only thing that can happen is for the camping person to tell me that 10 spots cannot be reserved, in which case we'll reserve less and rent big tents. So no biggie.

I'm waiting for the freakin callback from the place. I called yesterday. Probably we're clear, but better safe than sorry

This makes me very glad! Please try your best! When you want something really bad, the universe conspires for you to get there WHICH IS A LIE AND TOTAL CRAP AND I'M NEVER READING THIS JERK, COHELO AGAIN. ASSHOLE. YOUR BOOKS SUCK. But the illustration by Moebius was neat.

I like how besides Dart, any women that might show up will be in relationships with ags guys. Total trophy-ing will go on.

Didn't book today, was sick and sleeping. Book ...TOMMOROW!!!1

but go ahead and book for flights, you guys, I'm pretty sure my end of the booking will go flawless as this is a big fucking campsite. We'll fit.

Mats, it may be a good idea to not critisize your critique so much. That's not the point. Take what you want from it, but don't be in constant rebuttal mode. You don't like the fingers in an edit? Don't keep them for your final version. The point of this place is to post art, get critiqued, repost, get recritiqued until you've refined your artwork to something you figure is good enough, not to post art, get it critiqued, then critique the critiques until people make your envisioned finalized pic themselves. In fact, it could be better if people stopped editing your work altogether, so you got to work on rediting your posted sprites after getting critique.

Okay, it seems we have a sorta finalized rollcall and it's around 21 to 22 people. a couple more or couple less will not make much of a difference. The dates will MOST PROBABLY be 15 to 22. I will call monday or tus to confirm and book, so you can also start asking for the days off and the like. This means we'll be paying slightly less that what's on the page ( possibly) and I'll let you all know come monday. Exact rates, detailed ways to get there and the like. If flights come to late in the 15th and you feel like it will be one lost day, you could fly sooner, and spend some time around athens with me, or if you're too many, simply hang around with me in the airport like tom hanks until it's time to roll with the busses. All this will be discussed to a greater length when I've actually booked.

Watch this space.

LGM: when you recieve criticism, do not reply point by point. In fact, don't rebut at all. Say thank you, and go back to the drawing board.

So guitarists, here's your backing track:

http://herculeaneffort.adventuredevelopers.com/backing%20track.mp3

FYI, the backing track is in A minor and the BPM is 120 just incase you want to sync it or something.

Have fun!

Ask him. And also half-overwanking would properly simplify to exactly the right amount of wanking, no? (answer: sadly not :()

the original one is blanket shading. Go easy on the AA with so many shades. Looks like velvet now. Harsher limits on the colour stages.

Yes the same. This is where I come from. The amateur adventure game designer cult. The pixel art fixation came after, really. Nice to see you around. Oh, and Pixelation will be back at some point, although don't hold your breath. Thanks for liking my halfassed try, you're obviously more skilled as a player.

www.locustleaves.com/jazz.ogg

this isn't very good, because on the one hand, I tried to not put too much wank in it, and on the other hand, this is exactly the kind of music you should overwank. So it's halfassed. Two channels, by the way. Oh and I really don't like the blues so this is hungarian minor with lots of accidentals and too sterile to count for anything with soul.

EDIT: wait, I thought that it would be a nice idea to play hungarian minor. This is just pentatonic with one major shift somewhere. Crap.
