Snarky's post is generally correct as far as I know about Herge. However even late in his career he couldn't help but provide Tenten with cute racial-stereotype young boy adorable sidekicks, which is a bit nnngghhhish as far as I'm concerned.

It's kinda depressing a concept. I don't like your music much, believe it to be extremely derivative, but it's well-made mostly (a big-time producer would make it sound very marketable) and if you keep at it, you might make it big.

The first Dune has a very compelling atmosphere that Cryo carried over in a few titles of theirs. Like KGB. Something about the art direction...

QuoteIf we don't want the adventure genre to die out completely, shouldn't we start BUYING these games..?

The adventure genre is alive and well. Lots of commercial games are being made by niche enthusiasts, for niche enthusiasts, and they largely suck. Buying the old good games will not help new good games exist.  It will just fuel this niche market with the substandard product we've been seeing since 1997 or so. The lack of vision and ability by today's studios is something that cannot be helped.

Left one definately. The game is called Fatman, not Batman-with-beer-belly.

Sorry for how this message sounds but... if you turn on your television only a few times a year, and one of them was for this, shame on you. If you watch television all the time, you probably have bigger problems than watching this particular show would entail.

Posting on the internet is all well and good if it's not a super-serious issue, but I think you should turn to non-internet professionals for stuff like this.

I sincerily respect your mother and wish her all the best.

Oh no you di'in't!! Take some of THIS!

Your mother is a quality member of society and I am thoroughly impressed with her volunteer work.

She is also looking rather trim these days. Her trips to the gym have really paid off.

Well I guess you had it coming...

Once last summer I was at your mother's house waiting for you, and she made me tea and cookies and we had a wonderful chat. She really a wonderful person.

Yeah I agree totally. It's just that I find it odd that sexual relations are portrayed in this light. If I were a con-artist that went around ripping people off, sure, that's not much of their fault, but for someone to go around having irresponsible sex with people that leads to babies... can't people smell that one coming?

Sorry to broaden the subject if you don't want to go that way, though.

Oh wow this is better art how?

edit: excuse me, I misread. music/sfx, not better graphics. Sorry.

QuoteSo you're saying he shouldn't pay support for his children?

No.

but

QuoteHelm: Sure, the mothers weren't exactly without blame, but the fact is, he's going around town getting women pregnant

holy shit! the wording of this! Women fought for equal responsibility all this time to be impregnated by a random, irresponsible penis going about the town? Haphazard impregnation?

It just sounds very bad to attribute the 'getting pregnant' bit to an irresponsible penis and not an irresponsible vagina.

QuoteMost importantly, it has better music/sfx than any AGI game, nearly but not quite on par with the earlier Lucasfilm games. I have no clue why Sierra decided to change that part.

Is it made to run on Apple II as AGI games are? Are there any screenshots of this? Sounds interesting.

The first half of the movie went on pretty okay. The second half stepped very firmly into silly land, with bad or purely inconsiquent characterization, odd and absurdist changes in tone (jazz club? What?) and it generally became tiring, almost insulting to the viewer. I could not wait for the movie to end, and it ended three times just to mess with me.

I have no problem agreeing a part of his behaviour is of genetic predisposition. Forget about free will. My dad and I do the exact same movements when we go to the bathroom (don't ask how I know), when we eat, specific mannerisms and such. I wouldn't say we're very alike in 'high-level' personality though, we just grew up very differently.

That being said though,

Quotenot pay a penny towards their upkeep

upkeep? children aren't bases in warcraft. What about the women who had children with him though I am certain he wasn't the poster boy for responsibility for a flat second of his life? Don't have children with people like that. Both parties are to 'blame'. And the child will probably suffer, though there's cases where single moms make it work. With that sort of judgement on the mother's part exhibited though, I'm not holding my breath.
