I think they're horrible, but they won't stop you from making your game. The 'art' 'style' doesn't suit Bone at all, of course, or indeed, much of anything I can think of right now, but seriously, if you want to make this game or any other, go for it. It won't look good, but that doesn't mean it won't possibly play good either. If you have no strength in gameplay making, writing, scoring though, since clearly art is not your strength, you should really think about what you're trying to do with ags. If you just want to have fun, cool. If you desire to make something others will enjoy... well.

QuoteIt's going to be like what would've happened if LucasArts had made a game of Bone during the beginnings of Bone in 1992-1995

No... no. Not at all.

Kinoko, I wholeheartedly suggest you become a scientologist, it's going to be fun and it'll work for you very well.

I don't know any greeks so I can't answer your question, Farlander. I can tell you this, though: Cannibal Holocaust = Helm way of life

Remember to allow diagonial movement with the keyboard (some of us still have numpads and adore them) and also, I'd suggest pixel-perfect movement for the characters. That is to say, every step the character makes, he moves exactly the length of pixels his stride covers, no gliding, no skipping. It's the ubernitpick, I know, but these things help immersion!

And yes, Sierra games didn't do anything with the parser that you wouldn't be able to do with an icon interface, and this is mainly why they're more closely aligned with the latter point and click adventure games and not the modus operandi of traditional IF.

You won't find Ample Destruction on CD. And the vinyl pressing is insanely hard to find and costy. Ebay might help, but I can only say good luck. A good Jag Panzer cd is 'The Fourth Judgement', probably their best, really.

Find and buy Heir Apparent - Graceful Inheritance if you can. And Manilla Road's The Deluge.

This is now easily my favourite AGS game in production. This is the best hybrid gui I've seen in an amateur adventure game, and barring straight up IF, the best in most commerical games too. I just hope you make good use of it. I found it very intuitive. Awesome that we have now, a great-looking game that also depends on good writing to work. I just hope you do the good writing :P

It would be a good idea to eventually make the code for this public because if I ever make another multi-screen adventure game, I'd really love to use a variant of this GUI.

Pseudopod, make an interactive fiction game.

Petra: Ok.

Guybrush, I find them ridiculous as I find most third wave power metal bands that ape bands-that-aped-prime-helloween. They do not stand out in any way for me, from that sort of sorry lot. Very derivative, not convincing. The music is boring too. What can I say? The big issue is, I know this music very well for the Sonata Arcticas and the Theocracys to have any effect on me. When you've heard and enjoyed the types of Jag Panzer's "Ample Destruction", Omen's "Battlecry" or Warlord's "The Cannons of Destruction Have Begun" for the bigger part of your youth, the later sort of derivative stuff doesn't appeal much. I haven't heard a decent modern power metal band since Nevermore entertained the style back in Politics of Ecstasy.

I don't mind the christian message at all. Two of my favourite bands are Savior Machine and Candlemass (from Nightfall and onwards they're positively white) and I do enjoy a lot of white power (haha, oops!) metal bands you wouldn't know like Veni Domine, Seventh Avenue or even prime Stryper. If people believe fervently in something, usually that sort of conviction captures me, be it belief in gods or devils or whatnot.

And yes, of course this is all my opinion, I don't claim to objectively be able to determine what is ridiculous and what is not. I am neither evil, nor a genius, and would appreciate it if ManicMatt would put a lid on it.

Timequest unknown? Anyway, Legend took it a step further in Gateway 1 and 2 too. Excellent games all around.

We'll see. I'm bringing my plaster of paris and a makeshift grappling hook. The sass ends, even if it's going to take all night.

Nikolas, if this is what I think it is about, just threaten your wife with even more violence and you'll be ok, she'll never press charges. It's the greek way.

I WOULD PRESS CHARGES WITH MY FIST IN YOUR GREEK FACE.

I'd beat you to an inch of your life and you'd love me for it. Surefire way to end the sass. Nikolas knows what I'm talking about, right Nik?
