Thanks for the Rating Panel Information thread. It adds a lot of transperency to the work of the panel.

General Discussion / Re: My wish for 2010

When did this become the 'what is your favorite part of the fallout-series?'-thread?
I also enjoyed all three, but my favorite is the second game. I even created a Pen&Paper-RPG for Fallout.

First of all: Thanks Bicilotti for hosting the competition!

So far, I see lots of very nice, short nominees. But didn't we have any longer game worth an award?

What about Cold Meat , the adventure of lazy, Heavy Metal and Fastfood-loving Pete, who has to deal with zombies that beset the new fastfood restaurant in his town?

It's sure not the best looking game but one of the longest in 2009 (if not the longest- correct me if I'm wrong) and has lots of qualitites:

I seriously recommend everybody who fancies some full length amateur adventure puzzle solving to give this a try, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee you. And I will furthermore fortify this with a short list of things that make this game worth YOUR time:

- good characters!
- good music!
- good puzzles!
- good font!
- good length!
- okay graphics!

See? It's good!

So, I nominate it for the categories:
Best Game Created with AGS
Best Gameplay
Best Puzzles

Why the AGS review is made for a one person and has more importance than the user ratings?

For my decision if I want to give a game a try or not the user ratings are more important.
But I think this is a minority opinion.

@Dual
Wow! You created the "best AGS game ever" that's "not recommended to anyone"  ;)

I think as a creator of a game that's hard to judge. Look for playtester and ask them if the music is to repetetive or if it even changes too often.

Helme, looks like they're discussing it.

Thanks. I couldn't keep track where the discussion ended.

Or with other words: AGS PANEL is trying to tell us how we have to write the games. No way! The indie game creator is an artist not an engenier!

I think I overrated the influcence of the panel reviews a few weeks ago. Since 2 of my games have a panel review by now, there hasn't changed much about the dls or the feedback I get for them even with one review that is not very flattering.
#47
Didn't the panel want to make their work more transperent with some sort of "This is how the panel rates and reviews games"-thread?
If some questions are frequently asked a F.A.Q. would be a good idea.

The choice was surprisingly easy for me.

How come most peoples games get one liners like "Good game, really enjoyed it" and mine gets a 300 word slating :p seems rather unfair to me.

Fantastic game! Can't wait to get the next one.

Satisfied Calin?  ;D

I think I said that Danny Dread is lacking immersion. It's hard for me to point out exactly why. But the main quest to fetch a sheep didn't really arouse my interest. Maybe that's why the game felt a bit boring to me.

Generel Settings - Compiler - Compress the sprite file -> true
#52
Is 57mb the size of the whole game folder or of the compressed 'compiled'-folder?
#53
I noticed that the black guy on the second screen has orange eyes. I suspect this is not intended and you used white as the transparent colour and his eyes are now transperent, too.

... and what's most strange is that depression is actually fuels my creativity.

Without depressive artists my CD-collection would be quite small.

There are vague ideas for more episodes, but I haven't decieded how to continue. It will also depend on reactions of the community.

But don't expect that many games by me as in 2009. I will be a lot busier with real-life work in 2010.

how part you have in programm?

Sorry, but I'm not sure if I understand your question.

I wish I could improve my english as fast as my background art.
The game is almost finished. Now I have to wait until Sebastian polished the dialogs and Dr. White made some more catchy music.

Why don't you personally rate your own game by the amount of cups of coffee you drank while making it and add that to the games description.

I love that idea. That would be about 50 cups for a MAGS-entry  ;D

Ahh...Christmas. A time to paint little Santa hats on our forum pics.

Right ;D

I used to dislike christmas. I remember my former neighbours christmas light-decorations that had the charm of a brothel in Las Vegas. I've no idead how brothels in Las Vegas really look, but the all the blinking was very annoying.

But it starts getting better. It's one of the few times in the year when your friends meet again in your hometown and that's what I appreciate about christmas.
