God, HillBilly, that's quite an annoyingly large signature image you got there. You'd better not post another time, or I'll have to smack you hard for wasting space.

:P

Fun thing. I was changing it the minute you were typing that reply.

Every single puzzle in "The Longest Journey". God that game was annoying. Still, i finished all the 4 CD's.

Just surf around on the board and check out diffrent characters. You'll learn it fast.

Oh yeah, that character looks great. Maybe add a sho?

Just a little tip: When the guy shoots with the pistol, the gun flame/big yellow thing starts from small to big. That would make the gun shot look really...well, not real. My suggestion is that you use the biggest shot in the first frame, then 1(or 2, if you think that looks better) small shot. If you know what i mean. You could also make the character a bit more light in the first frame when he shoots, that would make it even more realistic.

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=10916 Just a library. Working on Wayne's apartment.

Anyway, my FTP works now:

I love the new eyes you drew on him, but they just dident fit his personality.

I see the new one better, excepts for nostalgics (Which is sometimes a point to have in mind sometimes)
The what?

In addition, the first one has some tecnical problems, he is taller in north and south view than in the side one...

The first one, as in the "old" one? Yes, i know that. That's one of the reasons i'm improving.

Hmm... I guess that's the "cheeky" look. Maybe i could try to squeeze that in in the new one too. If you look at him now, you might notice that he looks "in-shape" and somewhat proud. I want him to be more sloppy and lazy. I'm thinking of making him a bit more messy and wider at the bottom of his short. Good idea?

Edit:

There we go, I think I've got it now. Anything more(By the way, i'm gonna move that skull on his shirt a bit more up on the second view, so they match.)?

I like the new one much better!

Thanks!

Quotesome crits:
you should put some darker pieces of blue in his hair, so it looks more like hair - get it? :)
Well, i gave him a small lighter amount on him now. Darker would look like lies.  :P

QuoteI'd give him a mouth and some eyebrowes if I were you, but that ofcourse is up to yourself

Eyebrows aint his thing. Too hairy. Thanks for reminding me of a mouth, toh.  :)

Well, seeing there's a time since i've been working on AGS, and i have somewhat improved my artwork, I also changed the mainperson in a new and improved game.

That sure sounded like a sale pitch.

Anyway, here's the new and old Wayne. So? Any better? Room for improvements?

Thanks.

I tought of that... but for some reason i can't remember why(maybe i was scared?) i dident. Anyway, here's a more clear look:

as for the foreground, I'll get to work on that.

I'm glad everybody liked it. :)

MrColossal: I actully used a little more than 256 colours. If you look at picture 2 and 2b, you see alot of diffrence at the colours. Except that, gif is great.

Pessi: The reason I put the foreground infront of the door, was that i wanted the library to look small and "put-back". You know, like when you place your old teddy bear in the attic. But, you got a point. Maybe i'll change it if it's too disturbing. :)

GinnyW: That confused me as much as you. But, i changed a bit on the colours at the last picture, and the book shelfes covers most of it.

Thanks everyone.

Yes, it will. But not the previous one. I'm gonna use diffrent background styles and a new script.

Ooh, check out, foreground!:

Better or worse?

I just used the last few hours on this library in MS paint. I think it turned out pretty good, but i wanna know what you guys/guyettes think. Is there something you don't like, is there more i can add, and stuff like that. Here's Step-By-Step how i made it:

(I know .JPG and .GIF looks ugly, but use your imagination and pretend is .BMP)
Right, here i just started out the shape. Green walls, wooden floor, and a door.

Here i added some bookshelfes(or whatever). But still, i forgot to buy books.

Just a rug, so it wont seem so empty and alone.  :'(

At last, the books! Have you ever tried drawing books from diffrent angels than front? It takes time!

And now, to finish; Forground.

There we are. I wasent too picky on the perspective, since i want it to be more cartoonish.

So, any C&C? God, it feels good to come back to AGS again.

Hmm... The one to the right looks like a beaten up gentleman. If he's supposed to be a hobo, i would suggest you make his teethe a bit more "rotten".

and oh yeah, if .GIF is bad, try .PNG or .JPG.
