Don't you have to pay for this to do anything that's even remotely fun?

Thanks, that worked perfect.

Now let's all wait for this thread to be forgotten.

General Discussion / DVD ripper
Sat 04/03/2006 20:59:32
Hello,

I've ordered a forgein DVD(Region 1), and I want to play it on a region 2 DVD player. The DVD works fine on my computer, and I only need a few segments of the DVD. So I'm thinking I just need a program that can rip certain parts of it, and then convert it to .avi or whatever. Is there a free software that can do this for me? I don't want to rip the whole thing.

I've googled, but only came up with crap. So I'd rather use something recommended by a live person than a multi-download site.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, it's this one.  :=

I appreciate this.

My avatar is an actual depiction of me. I'm the real batman. You shall have no other batmans before me. Joker will NEVER get me. And neither will Ivy or Catwoman.

You're just OBSESSED with SomethingAwful.

Aww, I thought this thread was going to be about calling Eric out and forcing him to change his avatar because despite knowing VERY well that he's a male, I'm constantly stuck with the image that THAT blonde woman is the voice behind all his posts. What, with all his feminist mumbo jumbo too ^_^

You're a cat, right?

What's "its areas"? I hope you're not suggesting that [yourreligionofchoicehere] should be given any legal or political power.

If it were my religion, I would make ALL (married, for the shake of rharpe) pregnant. Just so that me, SSH, Squnky and Vince wouldn't feel so lonely... ;D

We'd just have an abortion orgy. Hanger sales would shoot through the roof.

EDIT: Wait, who's gonna make them pregnant?

Quote from: DGMacphee on Sat 25/02/2006 06:17:52I heard they're making another Larry game.

If Al Lowe isn't involved I don't wanna hear about it. It's probably just another dance dance revolution clone with boobs.

If it were a real religion, you'd just get everyone else to go apeshit while you ate your sandwich.

Quote from: m0ds on Thu 23/02/2006 22:27:33If the prophet Mohammed is a good guy, I'm sure he too wouldn't want Muslims to act violently. And if he does, well - then you have a fucked up religion.

In March of 624, Muhammad led some 300 warriors in a raid on a Meccan merchant caravan. The Meccans successfully defended the caravan and then decided to teach the Medinans a lesson. They sent a small army against Medina. On March 15, 624 near a place called Badr, the Meccans and the Muslims clashed. Though outnumbered more than 3 times (1000 to 300) in the battle, the Muslims met with success, killing at least forty-five Meccans and taking seventy prisoners for ransom; only fourteen Muslims died. This marked the real beginning of Muslim military achievement.

He was a warrior about ten years of his life. So yes, on some occasions, you could say he encouraged violence.

I'm all for it. This worked well for alot of games, like Broken Sword or Indiana Jones. It didn't, however, work too well with Leisure Suit Larry, where you could die from just flushing the toilet.

If you know your character's life is in danger, you'll probably think before doing your next move, instead of using the "use-everything-with-everything" strategy. Hold on, I'll just quote myself from a few days back:

Quote from: HillBilly on Sat 18/02/2006 22:00:59
Your role as an adventurer(atleast in this game), is to GUIDE the main character. If you're a bad guide, your character will die. I'm using this to prevent people from running the "use-everything-with-everything-and-everyone-no-matter-if-it-makes-sense-or-not" strategy too much. The cliff was just an example. If you've ever played Broken Sword 1 & 2, that's the direction I'm going for. It's not smart to just walk in to a room with alot of potential dangerous and armed people, for example. But I'm still giving you the option, even if it'll kill you.

It creates suspension, and can be a great addition to a game in some cases. But with some games it just don't work. It's all about what you're aiming for, really.

I love the new versions. Much more personal than the previous sketches.

I'd have to say it looks eastern because of the shape of the nose and head. I have no idea why, though; It's hard to define.

Since I use voice acting and hi-res graphics, I too could use something like this. I've never tried Pamela before, but with that result, it could come to great use in voiced games.

I don't got much to contribute, just wanted to show my support.

But what's especially nice is that in the 1st screenshot, she's carrying a hanger, so she can hang her clothes, should the need arise! ;D

I thought it was for emergency abortions.

Anyway, looking good so far. And those nipples are probably just stiff because of the cold, right?

Right?

Oh come on , thats bs.  We are making fun of you to show you're one of us?

It's a part of our culture. We make fun of everything. If you're moving to Denmark, or any country like it, don't assume you're spared just because you're muslim. A religion is a part of a society like anything else, and people will comment on it.

Quote from: Karimi on Mon 20/02/2006 17:48:24muslims believe in a society that has some censorship to protect its members , it believes in respecting others.

Some cencorship? I doubt it. Let's take Iran, for example: They've banned all western music and movies from their country. If you're a homosexual, they'll make up some fake charges to get a reason to hang you. This happend to two young men a short while back. I wouldn't call that respect. And saying that people need to be "protected" from cartoons is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. People should be able to face reality, and deal with it in a mature manner. "Ban everything that we don't approve of" is not the solution.

Quote from: Karimi on Mon 20/02/2006 17:48:24Freedom of speech has been confused with anarchy I think, freedom of speech is the right to speak out against a cruel ruler, or to teach others something, its not to incite hatred and anger.

Freedom of Speech = You can say whatever you want, even if most people don't agree with it.
