Get another midi for it!

I like the game, however I shut my speakers down after 10 seconds. :)

Now, how the frell do I get to the Yeti? I got the stick, found my uncle, talked to everybody, got the knife, sharpened the stick... so what's still to be done?

Hey taryuu, I liked your game! Didn't know what a Genbu was until I had played your game... the humour was spot-on, although maybe a few GlobalInts here and there could've helped in the conversations not repeating themselves.

The graphics were very well done!

Question I'm answering: Should action sequences have any part in an adventure game?

Answer: I think so. They should mostly be used sparingly, and be kept above the "click-fest" problem. So, in essence, they should have some puzzley element to them.

I also prefer games that makes it possible to skip the puzzle.

(PS. Farlander and Trap, perhaps you two can get another thread? ;))

My question: If you got a dog and were to name it after an adventure character, what name would you pick?

I'm sorry... I just couldn't resist this one.

Ok...

...in fear of gettting flamed, I'm going to push on. I posted this topic about a year ago as well, but then it got blown off due to bandwith problems.

Now, as I hear, bandwith isn't really the issue anymore.

It's quite a simple game really. I ask a question. The next person answers it (as elaborately as he/she wishes) and asks a new question.

If multiple people respond, it's up to the next one to have a lot of fun in answering several questions. It isn't really a big problem if multiple people answer multiple questions, in my experience such things usually sort themselves out.

Also, I think it would be fun to talk about things adventure-related... not that this is a rule, but the conversation could be kept somewhat serious this way.

Ok. Here goes.

Which game character had more charisma? E.g. which one would you more likely befriend in real life: Gabriel Knight or Hoagie. And... why, if I may ask?

*uses this opportunity*

Oh, yeah...?! Yeah?!!

Well... SSH, that script thingy you helped me out with with Buccaneer??

The thing I thanked you for????

Remember it?!?!?!

Well... it was worthless!!!

Mwahaha!!!

;)

(Irony galore, yup. I'm still glad it's in there, to be honest... If you're willing, I'd love for you to help me out a bit more in Buccaneer II once I get down to scripting.)

We are not allowed to talk about what we do here at Mappomedia.
Its secret information.
And mappomedia created the word apprechiated so we can spell it however we want.

I took your posts serious, until this one.

Come on. Do you really expect people to believe you? If so, you need to do some serious re-evaluation.

Don't forget, Wyrd Sisters also got made into a cartoon...

...I turned it off after about 45 minutes, though. It lacked, well... everything.

* Update your graphics card driver
* Try a different version of Windows (which version are you using?)
* Smash your monitor
* Eat your mouse
etc.

Not that the last two options will help much, but it's enjoyable.

Yeah, Outcast was amazing.  But why oh why did they stick in that ridiculous LESN FLAER?

True. :) But in that game, it didn't really bother me that much.

Did you hear Outcast 2 got cancelled? Very, very big loss for the gaming community there. Appeal is bankrupt, and the project is lost. For more info: http://www.outcastii.net/eng/index_eng.php

I do hope someone changes his/her nick to "DarkHobbes".

I would be honoured.

*is proud to be added to such a prestigious list*

Also, Yufster, you can download "Buccaneer 1" from www.unosar.com, so you can get to know the characters and setting... :)

No demo it is.... :)

Mwahahaha! I'll keep Richard tottering around on my own PC then until BucII is ready.

Argh!

Seeing that screenshot makes me want to install Outcast on my machine again... that game was just *too* good to be true.

And is also available on The Underdogs, if I'm not mistaken.... ;)

So, yeah, voxels are great. The only problem is that they're not accelerated with today's 3D hardware. This was one of the reasons why Outcast never really became a hype. Lots of computers back then couldn't play it properly. That, and the absurdly low resolution, of course.

Thanks, Custa- errr... Privateer Puddin'. ;)

Making a demo which is not part of the game, I considered this. But then again, isn't that what Buccaneer 1 practically is?

The graphics are gorgeous... am interested to see where you take Ben with the story, as it sounds promising, if done right.

Good luck!

In answer to Fruity, yes, I enjoy my work.

Being a teacher to 22 kids is, to me, one of the best jobs I can ask for. I'm having a good time! :)
