Has anyone here noticed how "talking like a pirate" is usually just
"Arr.  Anyway, the cheese smels bad."

Quest for glory four... Not only did it add together the epic heroism of the Paladin, the strength and willpower of the Fighter, the Mastery of the Wizard, and the trickery of the thief, but combined some of the classic QFG 1 2 & 3 humor.  Plus the fight system was kickass, as each character with their own badass special power to use against the monsters.  (The thieves acrobatic attack, the paladin's sword and shield, the fighters axe  and the wizards huge ass spells)

Edit:  I'll have to add in Myst and Riven,  both with great puzzles, great plotlines, and ending beautifully.

Wow... out of all the QFG fangames I have ever seen, this is the only one with actual potential... no joke.  I checked hero6 once in 2001, now it's 2005 and it went no where.  (aside from a few pieces of concept art)

Really, truly great.  My only complaint is the character selection screen, the fighter animation could be better... perhaps a bolder grasp on the sword (she looks like she's thinking "What the hell am I supposed to do with this?!")

I don't know, it seems more like the entire plotline is detiriorating in every way.  The random sex jokes used to just be "Mayor Quimby & The Squeaky Bimbo", but have turned into "Homer's a horny fatload".  Whenever Marge and Homer had a fight, Homer realized he did something wrong.  He confronted marge and took care of things, and (in some cases) saved Marge from herself. Even though he was childish then, it was in an innocent way.  He never meant malevolence towards others, and has helped out random extra characters more times than I could count.  Bart and Lisa were a team together in many episodes, and helped each other many times.  However after that restraining order episode their relationship was more driven by anger.  And the plotlines for the episodes?  They would be fine... if not for the character change in the family.  The show is still funny at some points, but not nearly as much as other seasions.

EDIT:  I feel that I should point out that when a show like the simpsons meets such a high peak of glory (and loses they're good writers) they have a choice of either going out with a bang, getting one final burst of money, or siphoning all the money out of it they can as the plot deteriorates and the whole thing plops out of existance.

But seriously, it's funny.  Don't insult your work unless it deserves it (like that crappy sprite can I made a few days ago )

I don't think you'd be able to pull off a single room like that...  You'd probably need to have 3 seperate ones.  I think it would be better to have that character on a larger scale in a small room than even smaller scaled in a HUGE room.

Well, for one you could save the program as a 32-bit bmp, rather than simply renaming it.  By renaming it, the program makes it a lesser quality bmp, thus ruining your beautiful artwork .   Photoshop also has a convert-to-gif function, which I used many times to post pictures and such on the forums. It usually doesn't remove any details from the image at all.  If I can get my brother to show me how later I will, but right now both of us are too tired.


Just a question though: Do you need help drawing the backrounds or converting them?  Or both? 

Wow... I can't believe someone ACTUALLY posted a thread with this title... and it didn't get locked or something.  My method of game making is:

"Hey porky!  Make me a forest backround!"
"Hey porky! Draw me a goose!"
"Hey porky! 4 more backrounds, now!"
