Cheers Rui!  I remember coding that jumping stuff was a pain in the backside - glad it was appreciated!  ;D

Desimaui: Jump from the side onto the branches that stick out, and use the key in the far-right edge of the room under the stairs.

Phew!  Only 50% off-topic!
#42
The tree to the left of the shed.

I'm afraid the whole game was a collection of family in-jokes: the key you found unlocks the cellar in the far right screen (I "accidentally" got locked in there, and the key "accidentally" got thrown down the garden, you see  ::))
#43
Why thank you!  :D

You can jump out the window on the far left (in the room with the coin under the bed).
#44
Darn it, I thought I'd looked there

Thanks a bunch!
#45
Why does the music volume go down when voices play?  Is there a way to turn this effect off?

Thanks
#46
Great stuff!  Thanks sunwalker.
#47
Apologies if this has already been covered, but does this support sprites that only face on direction (i.e. don't always face the camera)?

Thanks

Oh, THAT lamp!  Blimey, you guys don't miss much, do you?  :)
I just moved it because of the changed perspective.

And thanks: I think I'll put in a chapter screen again.  It's always tricky not to give too much away on it, though!
#50
Lamp?Ã,  Coach?

I'll do MOST of the voices this time around.Ã,  I'll probably post a recruitment ad in a week or so for the lead female.

EDIT: Do you guys want a chapter selection screen this time around?Ã,  Did anyone use it in the first game?
#51
Well, after over 2 years of work, the game has finally entered post-production!

This is a huge milestone, because now all the actual AGS stuff has been done.  All that's left now is other stuff like the soundtrack, speech pack etc. (while hoping we get some updated support for Pamela lip-synching  ;))

So, this isn't an announcement of imminent release, but the game is on it's way.  The current stats now stand at over 1700 sprites and more than 50 screens.  It'll be a big 'un.
#52
Nice work, Fenton!  And thanks for emulating the DNG interface  :)

I'd be happy to chip in some anims once DNG2 is out the way.
#53
Gord, I thought LITN was wicked!  Great news to hear of a deluxe version.  How will the commentary work?  I think Fatman had a little button in the corner that played room-specific commentary.
#54
Further lip-synch support is something I am SERIOUSLY crossing my fingers for with the next AGS release.  Papagaya seems pretty good, but I'm fine with Pamela.  Cheers for bringing this up!
#55
Sorry I didn't see your reply, fenton!Ã,  Would've replied sooner if I didÃ,  ;)
Thanks for the support, and to answer your questionss:

1) Yes, that's Ice's son Jimmy (Ice is using him as an excuse to see the puppet show)
2) The game is now very close to the post-production stage.Ã,  By that I mean the game itself is almost done.Ã,  After that comes music, speech, and general tidying up.Ã,  (Now would be a great time for Lucasarts Pamela support, Pumaman!!!!)
3) Yes, the cutscenes are being worked on now, but I'm having to wait for a certain fellow AGS-er to finish some 3d-work *cough* Mozesh! *cough*Ã,  ;)
4) If I get this right, all but Steve and the trainer from the original return in the sequel, and there are about a dozen new characters.Ã,  I'll probably do as many voices as I can (like in the original), but maybe I can find a cameo role for you or something!Ã,  Sorry I can't be less vague, but I'm not thinking about the voices much yet...
5) Yes, she does sound like a man!!Ã,  However, she only has one line (hey, it hurts my throat to do itÃ,  ;D)
6) Yes, SJ is back.Ã,  But rest assured, this is far from the old "villain from the first one seeks revenge in the second" plot...

ETA: September.Ã,  Sorry about pushing it back like this, but the game is undergoing MAJOR polishing, and will be well worth the wait.Ã,  That said, I'm really pushing to get it done before college starts again in October.

Here's hoping, and it's about time we had another sneak:

Oh, cool!  Thanks, Stee - I've changed the game's profile to link to your mirror as the main d/l site (I never liked filefront, anyway   :))

fentonfilms: Ahem, yeah, sorry about that  ::)  No news on the site in NO WAY means work on DNG 2 isn't going on.  It's hard to pin down a real release date, since I keep coming up with new ideas on a whim, which then take 2 days to dump in.

But, fingers crossed, it'll be ready in ... a month?
#57
Steve, you are a genius!Ã,  ;D

I put together a quick test to see how I might use it in DNG 2.Ã,  I added a few tweaks to complete the effect, such as the rounded pond-edge and a transparent layer of water, so that you still get some blue in there...

#58
Like the original, DNG 2 will be set over the period of one day (hence the title, duh!)

So, to prove that it's not all set at night:

:)
#59
Pamela lip-synch support for Lucasarts-style speech!!!!!!
#60
Layabout: If you're referring to the 2nd guy in the 2nd screenshot, yeah, that's intentional  :)

Pablo: Yup, the game's going full speed ahead now after an unfortunate but essential snooze.
As for the game's progress...

Part 1: Done
Part 2: Pretty much done
Part 3: Needs fine tuning, otherwise done
Part 4: Gameplay's done, just needs the graphics
Part 5: Short but VERY graphic intensive.  Will take time

After that there's the usual sound FX, voices and the like that need doing.  Also, I'm planning a couple of unbelievably cool cutscenes that you'll have to see twice!  Yes, they're going to set the release date back a bit, but it'll be worth it.

Roll on summer!
