It's funny, I actually thought about that plenty of times. I think the answer behind is cause I would like to be able to increase my coding skills so I can keep making games no matter the size. However I think it would be nice to do a short game were I'm just the artist.

@Monkey: It's cool, I sorta had cloud running through my head when I drew him up for this game but I can't remember his first design.

@Snake: Thanks, I actually see what you mean but what happen was I messed up on her concept design but I will draw a pic of just her and post it tomorrow with a new update.

@Dave G: Oh wowzer he never told me that. I spoke to a guy named Dave Coffman. And he old me that they try to work with a lot of Indie dev and to try and email this guy named Bill. I hope I can get in but if not there is always next year and I'll have more to show and I'm going regardless this year so maybe I can still see you after all.

UPDATE March 17/12

PAX EAST 2012!!!
PMQ Colosseum could possibly becoming to PAX east next Month. I spoke with some there and they gave me a email to speak with someone about information about featuring the game there.

I'm just waiting for the reply so hopefully I can post an update later about if it's yes or a no.

Are you strong enough?
I have thought about adding two more PMQ characters to the game but not apart of the story. They will be Optional super Bosses that both Dave and Chris can fight(separately). They're not insanely powerful but I can promise it will be a long battle if our not ready.

Tidal looks sorta similar to..., Tidal is a soldier who travels through time fighting worthy opponents. When he beats them he can take their looks and weapons but not their outfit. He defeated 12 warriors and he is now  going for 13. will Dave or Christen stop him or lose their self to his mimicking ways?

Well I think thats enough just about all I need to know for right now anyways so thanks.

As for coding. I would like to try this all on my own anyways just to see if I can do something new alone.

Just a few thoughts for the future. How would one go about making a Rhythm game? I was gonna make a 1 room Rhythm game when I got the chance to test my skills and I didn't want to try something I couldn't do with a little background on how I should do it.



Here is an example from Theatrhythm FF, The keys come towards the Players Catcher thingy and then they slide the mouse in the given direction or click if a blank key comes by.

I wan't to use the arrow keys instead of the mouse movements and space bar instead of the mouse click.

Also do I have to use Midi instead of MP3 in a Rhythm game? Or and what do I use to make the keys, cause I was just thinking about using Objects and aligning them up on the same X and then pushing them of screen.

I had already agreed that I won't use Dennis and it's not that I was trying to argue but I just have this strange feeling in there that I am able to distribute my Dennis in any way possible.

Also I am not selling Oceanspirit or oceanspirit dennis but a character named (Dennis) I made. His name is dennis but he goes around calling himself OSD and for a short amount of time. OS in my game is a name passed down to a warrior of great power by his master.

I guessing you think I'm using myself in your game as a way around it this. I was using him/me and the pub as an example but what I was really focused on was the shogin crystal.

I think the most confusing thing here is that even though they are in different deminisions they are still called OSD and that's my fault for not finishing more of OSD rots and releasing it so I could show the difference. Because they both can exist at the same time which they do but there can only be one oceanspirit dennis and that's canon dennis. Even if I was going to use him I had already said 2 names I could have called him but with what I had been stating before I could have just gone and called him Dennis, not OSD but just Dennis.

Also WHAM I looked at video games laws which talked about Copyright laws for games. That's why there is a leicings script that comes with AGSC or PMQC for different reasons. 1 being if this game did commercial and I make DLC for it then it hold be known that DLC is not apart of the game or it's story and it's just an extra. Cause what if I made a Sephiroth battle for Dave or Christen as free fun DLC and got in trouble for it?

Thanks for the example. I was so stuck on getting it perfect that I can see that it was a waste of time and I should just wen't on and did it. Also thanks for point out the light sources. I sometimes don't notice them all or how long they are.

Truth be told and it's not even from this conversation. I don't even know if I'm gonna use Dennis or not cause I'm full of characters now. However one thing I would like to include is that saying something like you did with cloud is like saying I can't distribute Dave for the fact that he was based of cloud or I was such a big fan of cloud I first based a few looks off of him.

But Dave altogether is his own person and him and cloud are not related what so ever.

I think the problem is, is just his name. I could easily put him in my game and call him Spirit or Soldier(which in fact I was gonna do) as a arena name or a nickname.

Also I'm pretty sure that all that matters in court was made the game but in this case it's the character. I never made OS Dennis but I can fact prove that I made (icey or pmq)Dennis which I would win the case cause they are two different characters. who look nothing a like and are not the same in no way. The games share few similarities but that's it only so I can relate them together at times.

Also if I ask anyone anything it would only be Ben cause that is the only one I am obligated to ask cause it was already admitted that everything before the game was just a joke. And if I did have to ask more than just ben it would be anyone who contributed to the canon series as a whole. including myself.

Also I just noticed that when I translate my OSD games name to english it comes of as "Dennis the spirit of the sea" not OceanSpirit Dennis, therefore in reality I have never made an OSD spirit game besides the first one I made and the HD remake.

Good point but at the first mention of OSD everyone thought it was a joke which it was and still is. However I don't recall at the very bringing it was announced that it would be an open sourced saga.

But what about Cloud, sephiroth and a whole bunch of other characters. I mean even Dave is featured in one of my OSD games. The Shogin crystal, introduced in PMQ2 which was released as a demo, is a plot element in my games including my OSD games even if not mentioned. That's like saying I can't make a PMQ game. Or sell my own games seeing how Icey and a Pub was included in Ponch's OSD game.

Also OSD was created under a PMQ thread something made by me. But that's a different point. My non-canon OSD games are created under the PMQ banner and that goes for any game I make such as Gearblade and Forest Dweller 3D.

My games aren't open sourced not just because the coding is so damn awfully put together that it would be point less to download it but I just don't like making my OSD's open source. However I stay truthful to the normal OSD rules and any game I make that revolves around the normal Dennis I happen to make open source and fix up the code so that it looks usable.

No I have the right to use the OSD or Dennis I made who in fact is not OSD and is created by me and originated from the PMQ saga.

Spirit, Icey, or Pocket Dimension belongs to me. He is just a character made in another mans world. I have the say for were he goes in what he does.

All everyone just needs to keep in mind is that my Dennis is not OSD or the OS, he just goes around calling himself that just like cloud goes around calling himself 1st class soldier or Ex-soldier even though and until he realized he was never a soldier. My Dennis can stop and will stop calling himself OSD in that OSD game I gotta finish.

btw, My Dennis is the first ever in both PMQ and OSD to utilize the Job/class system. My Dennis doesn't have to be OSD to do some of the stuff he does.

Trust me, I know exactly what I'm doing. I can't use any ref to the canon story of OSD what so ever but I can use stuff I made for my Dennis.

UPDATE March 15/12

I had got around to making a new logo.


Also I got around to making the last contestant in the Colosseum. The Master Warrior originated from a short PMQ game I was gonna make but I didn't actually no how to make it and I needed to much help to make something that small so I brushed it off.


Next up is concept art of a fight between Leon and a monster. I wanted to have monsters in the game that weren't fantasy like but more horror like because I was discussing development with friend and he said he would like to have that stuff in the game so I asked another friend if he could help with that part and sure enough he said yes.

P.S. the santa hat is just a joke.



Also just curious Ponch is your real name = Robert Horvath?
