(but then I'd expect most people to just ignore the verbcoin and use the shortcuts).

I doubt even 2% of people do that. Adventure games are rarely repetitive grind-fests or real-time based, so what's the point of an ultra-quick interface?

Oh, I remembered a good context-based one-- Return to Zork. Even using an item on something could have multiple options (show knife to X, give knife to X, stab X with knife.) I really like that dimension of control and complexity, at least for adventure games. I forgot this thread was about RPGs, whoops.

Cool graphics! Tintin the Nazi is also the first thing that came into my mind!

I have one brilliant episode idea!

Riker commands the holodeck to browse the Internet for more wild scenarios and settings. Unfortunately during a cosmic storm its entire system gets merged with the AGS database. Now Pickard, Data, LaForge and Troi are trapped in a loop teleporting them from one AGS game to another every 15 minutes. At the same time Riker has been possessed by the angry Chzo gods and threatens the fates of the rest of the Enterprise crew and - in the near future - of the whole dimension.

Very nice!

I must finally play those Magnetic Scrolls games, if Chris Bateman recommends them so strongly.

I hope that was a sloppy case of sarcasm.

What's so sloppy about it? I thought it's sharp as nails.

Anyway, congrats on the release! Will play tonight.

First 2 guesses are very close, but not there yet. Let me show you that guy from first photo after he unleashed his sword, so that you have a better reference for finding the exact title.

So now for something completely different:

btw You DO know that there's an official TNG point & click adventure game that you could rip off some audio/visual stuff from, right?

Good to see a happy face, but that's not exactly the right film adaptation (I think that one is a German TV series and not a film actually).

As far as I know, the adaptation I got my photo from is by far the most iconic one. Here's a popular promo still from it:

So I'd say anian wins, if he can come up with the title and a more convinced smiley. If he doesn't want it, then it's open to anyone who points to the correct movie.

He looks like a cross between Tintin and Peewee.

Your thoughts are going in the right direction. It's a classic character.

No.

It's not an English language film, but very well-known in certain parts of the world.
