Thank you everyone for great feedback! Appreciate it a lot :)

AJA- Not as much as i'd want to ;) It's not bad at all, but if you compare the work that goes into one comic with work that goes into illustrations, you find out illos are the way to go, while comics are more for your soul.

Gord10Ahmet- I'll try to translate it in English (even though, honestly, i suck at translations, heh).

DM- damn it, i don't know how you did it, but your interpretation just made my day! :) You almost wrote an overview of comic without reading a single dialog =)
Agree about "blue" feel. Actually it was even stronger (more annoying) in previous version and i tried to eliminate it a bit in this new one. I'll play some more with different hues!

Erwin- thanks! Great point about third frame! Now that you mentioned it, those two hands really make that corner look a bit busy. The only difficulty is, i'd have to re-draw pic a bit diferently to make composition work when mirrored. But i'll keep it in mind, if there'll be some time left!

Scummbuddy- Appreciate your comments, thanks man!
About globe- that was actually one thing that i was unsure about too (it was left out because of my bad planning and it was too late when i realized there won't be any space to squeeze the globe in), but to my surprise nobody mentioned that, so i wisely kept my mouth shut ;)

I just took a job to draw monthly comic for some magazine and for the first month i did the table below. I would especially like to hear your opinion on coloring. First i wanted it to be more subtle (no shading, flat look), and with more washed out colors, but after i got critic from writer, i decided to make it a bit more "plastic" and dramatic. Coloring is a bit of compromise between speed (around 4-5 hours for all table) and attempt to not make look too cheap. What do you think?

Beautiful!

I prefer the coloring and outline style of the first character, while Moho animation wins as far as motion goes :)

Christina Ricci - Prozak Nation
Thanks for making my day ;) She's too cute.

Also, good to see Depp being nominated!

And she makes out with Christina Ricci ... might just be the best movie of all time :)

Mmm, got to see that movie...

Just downloaded it- perfect! I don't think there's anything you'd need to change now- it's easy and fast. Love it :)

Hm, the link doesn't seem to work at the moment... I'll try it out later.

Very good! It looks even better now.
I still like Andail's edit on arm more, though. It gave it more dynamic feel... also if you compare it to his right hand, where you applied much perspective, it's more correct. Actually, i'd make perspective even more exaggerated (though, i think i exagerated a wee bit too much on my edit).

(btw, sorry for crappy quality, i edited it in Flash)

This is *awesome*! Fantastic character and great illustration!

I think the problem with "movies to games" thing is, that it's usually more "commercial" for movie than a proper game (with a few bright exceptions).
Think about it: not only are developers limited with story, target audience (who are not always regular gamers) and studio's wishes... there's also a very strict dead-line. The game can't come out 1 year after film, or there isn't any effect. Knowing how dead-lines usualy work, or better- don't work, in game industry (months or even years late), it's no surprise developers don't want to take a risk or be inovative...

Games to movies are different animal though. Don't have any idea why they stink... probably because they choose wrong games (Tomb Rider? Street Fighter?? Mortal Kombat???)
Would love to see movie version of Monkey Island with Johnny Depp though :)

Real paints are of course the number one choice when making 'real' art. You know what I mean. :)
Couldn't agree more. I certainly wouldn't want some printed image hanging on my wall. I want the real thing :)

That's not to say tablet is a bad thing- hell no! When it comes to printed media, book illustrations and other "commercial" art, it's a *must* and, honestly, a real blessing :)
About drawing with tablet- agree here too. I was always using tablet for coloring only (the results depends too much on "luck" or numerous redrawings of the same lines/shapes).

Personally, i'd prefer S&M interface (with keyboard short-cuts still as an option).

Btw, as an idea: i quite like some newer interfaces, where action options  become available only on hotspots (then you cycle through them with right mouse button)... while, when cursor is off hotspot, it automatical switches to "walk mode".

Also, i just finished first part of game. Congrats! I absolutely love the fairy-tale mood. My favorite location must be "the barn"- the music & location itself create some kind of sad/darker atmosphere, which is a nice contrast to the rest of the game.

Walkthrough is down at the moment, so i'll ask here:
any hint on how to get cucumber?

Amazing!
Really great animations and music. Superb!

As i'm just playing first part (great, great game, btw :)) : there's something that bothers me about interface. It's a bit tedious to select commands from bottom of screen (or to jump on keyboard to select the right number)... wouldn't it be easier to give a choice to switch between commands with right mouse button? It would be great if you could implement that in sequel.

Otherwise- i'm amazed.

It's superb!
If those are your first animations, i think it would be a *big* shame not to continue as you obviously have real talent for this!
Also, style of background as well as character is priceless (very refreshing).
Looking forward to your game :)

It looks great! I like modifications :)

Btw, if you want to make her look older (even though, i don't think that's necessary at all), just add subtle wrinkles under her eyes.

Ali- It's a nice compensation to get away with cheaper present for girlfriend too... Shhh... i didn't say that ;)

Seriously: thank you! Comments like this are really the biggest reward i could get. Say thanks to her! :)

This is for real? When i saw cartoon in first post i thought it's freaking parody. Nothing against religion, but this site is even below brain-washing... it's laughable :)

Thank you all for great comments :)

Shattered Sponge- i really wouldn't want to make you laugh then ;)

Huh, i'm late this year (this was supposed to be a christmas card, heh)...
Anyway, here's a little Flash "game" (900 kb).
It's very simple (graphicaly and playing-wise), but well... that's what you get when you have only 5 days to finish it ;)

New Year Card

Fantastic music is by Loominous, btw (thanks again!)
Have a great New Year :)
