Fantastic work with animation Neole!
I prefer the first version too (it just looks more... godly ;)).

Good thing you wrote that disclaimer about it being parody and all ;) If there's one thing i *really* can't bare to listen are boy bands :-\
Well, as far as experiment goes, it's a nice try (very well executed), however i do agree the tipical boy-bandish feel is not completely there. As it was said, it sounds more like some Eurovision song from a few years back (now it's more popular to be Abba or Ricky "shakemya**" Martin wannabe).
Some more group singing/vocals, more catchy mellody and more intimate/personal singing (hehe, little teens need to feel you are singing directly to them and about them) and you'll be ready for MTV. I'll let you decide if that's a compliment or not ;)

All in all "good" work

Yeah, in general i agree about colors, however this one works great in b&w (i also prefer b&w comics over colored ones).

Absolutely love this one! :)

Thanks again everyone!
Ratracer- great suggestions! Actually i was thinking similar thing about the lamp, but was too lazy to change it yet.

Ah, almost forgot- that blue cup item in inventory is just temporary (did't draw appropriate object yet) :)

Whoa, thanks everyone! I'm really glad you like it!
I guess i'm looking at those backgrounds for far too long now (the one above is around 4 months old) and i simply can't stand them anymore ;)

Jannar, Eggie, Farlander, Ali, Miez, Xadhoom- Thanks!

Evilspacefart- Any time ;D Btw, how does virtual beer tastes like?

Neole- Thanks! Glad to hear it from you. I'll be happy if it will be half as good as Toonstruck ;)

Scummbuddy- critics are always welcomed :) I actually posted this one here (and not in "development" forum), to find out if it's really worth the trouble to redraw them in different technic (usually, if i look at some of my drawings for too long, i get bored of it and lose the clear judgment of how good/bad it really is). Agree with your point about lighting on board. I'll certainly fix this. Btw, the door are small intentionaly- schoolkeeper will have to bend, when he'll go through.

OTG- it is??? That's a great news! I love coloring in P6 (didn't try 7 because i heard watercolors sucked), but since it's so slow on my crapy system, it took away all the fun :) How are watercolors in 8?

Ionias- i was mainly working with vectors (except for a few bitmap touch-ups). It's quite strange to hear about slow-downs though... Vectors should be the fastest?

Danny- thanks man! Glad you like it (and you know i can't wait for Gothic) :)

James- this one was mainly done in Flash (except for some touch ups in Painter).

Anyway, thanks again everyone! You certainly know how to bring back motivation!

Critics' Lounge / Ignac screen

Soon there will be uploaded a non-playable teaser trailer of the upcoming Ignac2... so, as a little before-taste, here's one screen from playing part of the game.
To be completely honest, i'm not really satisfied with such look. I wanted to use Painter for backgrounds, but it's so damn slow on my computer, that it was close to useless (sometimes i had to wait for 3 seconds to see applied lines/colors, which makes Painter (that works on classical coloring principal- color above mixes with color underneath) impossible to use.

I think you are asking wrong questions here. Instead of "what *should* i do?", ask yourself what you *like* to do. If you enjoy making games, then it's certainly not a waste of time.
Life is short.. and it's yours ;)

Also, some things that may seem as a waste of time (or not important) at the moment, may become your way of earning money someday.

That alien queen is great! The first thing that poped on my mind when seeing it was "Heavy Metal" (comic magazine, not music style ;)), don't know why- it just holds something of those comics published in it. Anyway, fantastic!

Cute! :)
My only minor critic would be, that she looks a bit too young for a professor (it must be something about her clothes).

1 & 4 for me (2 is also good) :)

Edit: thinking about it, 2 will probably work better in game than 1.

Nice idea EldKatt!
Btw, i was just thinking- for me, the pic would have even bigger impact, if there would be signs of war (smoke, bombs, ruins, skulls, etc.) all around... while in the middle those two would peacefully drink tea on green grass with flowers :)

YakSpit- yes, it works on characters (instead of light level, you select a RGB level and it will work).

Hehe, yeah- Ignac is one of the old names that were quite common before 1900 (derivated from Ignacious, etc.), but are now so rare you hardly find anyone named like that. I remember i was once looking at one of those calendars that have name-days on them and i cought "Ignac"- i thought it would make an interesting and funny name for main character (and i knew it would couse pronoucing problems to all English speakers ;)), so...

Unordinary names don't always make them memorable.  I couldn't tell you the name of the character in "Out of Order," even though he had a very unordinary name.  Why?  Because his name was hardly mentioned during the game.  That's the trick.  It's all in the dialog.  The characters need to constantly talk and refer to each other by name.
Either that, or you name the game after the main character ;)
I like weird and not too common names.

* Added RGB tint option for regions as an alternative to light level.
* Implemented multiple select for dragging and deleting sprites in the sprite manager.
* Added ability to delete sprite folders (USE WITH CARE!!)
* Added option for characters to turn to face their new direction when using FaceLocation/FaceCharacter.

Fantastic! Thanks a lot Chris!
Now... excuse me, while i'm going to sacrifice a few more chickens on AGS altar in my closet.
