I'm amazed by everything in this game. But mostly by the detailed animations moves. You put a lot of efforts there. Great work!

I can't figure out how this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq024O5HNk8
is not very popular yet.

For 2 years - only 7K views. I don't want to compare the stats with something similar from another game genre but the difference will be huge.

I know that this topic is old, but these days I'm feeling very low about the whole situation with the games, AGS, AGS engine and everything related.
I tried to make some retouchings of my old games with the new AGS. I went very bad. I can't even compile the games.

I moved from AGS to browser based (HTML, CSS, JS), because I thought that people are not playing .exe games anymore but I was wrong.
I made an online browser based adventure game demo (several rooms) - https://www.cq-game.com/cq5/demo.html
To be honest - the interest is low. Maybe my game is the problem.

So I really wanna know... How can we spend so much time and efforts... It takes years of creating something that will be played by 10-20-30 people?
For me, it was the magic of moving a character over something that you draw... to create a worlds. But it was.

Over the years I made 4 games. With every new game release the interest was lower and lower.
I know things are changing, new genres, new people, new visions.

Is everyhting that bad?

Thanks to Ernst Wendrich, the English translation was corrected. I will be glad if someone finds an incorrect phrase or word and sends a correction.

Cassiebsg and Cat, thank you for the comments.

I just increased the character speed. One of the good things about browser based games is that you can make these small changes in few seconds.

If you want to see the new speed just reload the game with CTRL and F5.

I'm curious, did you use an existing engine or made one from scratch?

No engine - from the scratch.

BTW, any reason particular you went for a 4:3 ratio? AGS can now do 16:9 too...  ;)

It will be browser based. I choose 4:3 because of more screen height for showing help tooltips when cursor is over hotspot or object.
Thank you for the comments.

Gameplay notes:
- No need to wait while the character exits the screen. Use double mouse click for quick exit to the next screen.
- Settings menu, save and restore are still not implemented.
- The arrows in the bottom right part of the screens are not buttons. They just show where the exits are.
- The exits are located on the edges of the visible part of the screen. When the mouse is over exit, the cursor changes.

Engine Development / Plan for browser support
Mon 17/08/2015 11:26:36
Hello, I know that the current version of AGS can't export the game for browsers. Are there any plans to make somehow the game to be exported for web? I know about XAGE. I'm asking for something AGS official.

Hi,

I'm looking for a free hosting for my game series - Cosmos Quest 1, 2, 3, 4. The game website was shut down and I'm looking for a solution to keep the game alive.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I received the following question via email about my game which is 1024x768px.

Hi,

once upon the time ... I got this adventure series, named cosmos quest., some time ago, and right now we remembered the still unfinished part 4 and we would like to play it to its end...

It works, quite good, but there is one question still open: Is there a chance to play it with a lower resolution? The background: in my living room we installed a beamer, a relativelly easy one, with a resolution of only 800x600. It would be great to play via this screen because of the better visibility for two or three of us...

best regards,

Martin & Sabine

Please advise.

Thank you.

I re-played it. Everything is perfect - background graphics, jokes, music, voices. One thing I didn't like - character animation. Especially girls walking animations. Terrible. The city map is also very bad drawn. But I enjoyed it, everything else is very nice.

In one of his speeches Bill Gates said something like: "Life is not fair - get used to it!". For me future is not bright. The distance between the rich and the poor is increasing. This is a timebomb.

Why I don't see anything for USA in this thread? Unfortunately, the future depends upon USA too much.
