FL.EE
I like :D, seems like a spot-on for such club. I guess it wouldn't be hard to put some meaning behind words FL too

1) Sound cool
2) Be short and memorable
3) Mean something (could be abbreviation)
4) Somewhat secretive
5) Be available as domain or atleast club-<name> or something like this (but any meaningful english abbreviations are very likely available as .ee domain since law was passed very recently allowing individuals to register .ee domains and there's lots of uncovered ground yet). This part I'll figure out myself, there's lots of ways to keep most of the name as domain even if simpler cases are taken

That's I know majority wants. RDX, everyone liked, and is my backup option. sadly, rdx.ee is taken already
and I thought that something as simple and cool but available could come out of this thread

it is a ladies club. I'm just helping with organizing and setting up website...

That's why I'm struggling with name too  :P Otherwise it would be another Sparta or specops or whatever manly name.
So that's also why fuck mountains etc are out of line. It's nothing sex-related (I think) and being single probably means girls can't have fun with jealous boyfriends calling or hungry kids at home or whatever. Otherwise I would have bought milf.ee instantly
I know as much as I've told and what I have to put on website. But they haven't decided on name yet (actually have week long debate over it on forums with no consensus) and want specifically domain with same name and since domains are rocket science, "just pick something that we like and and you can get same name on internet-thing or whatever"

Although I doubt that this thread will be any help (none so far) and I probably won't have final say anyway

Well, I'm participating in a little project, a closed club.

Premise:

Basically bunch of single, independent people with common goal: to spend weekends in interesting way. People have to be single, sane, have income and no commitments, such as kids or spouse.
Every club member (in rotation) has to organize a weekend for the rest of the club, it's basically whatever, from visiting city bars to spending weekend at host's country house to a hiking trip... at least once a month.

Problem:

What's missing yet and what's I'm tasked with is to find an unique name for the club.
It should be short, memorable and preferably very mysterious. I've wrote down a long list I could think of, but don't like any them.
So far, RDX is everyone's favorite (RDX is a type of explosive, feels powerful enough yet many don't know what it means thus mysterious) but we cannot get good domain of same name so I need an alternative.

Reading the premise, what would you name the club?

Tiled sprite import is still quite a hassle. Or let's be honest, disgrace. Importing tiled sprites required loads and loads of trial and error, because AGS acts very unfriendly and every misclick is punished by forcing you to start over.

My suggestions:

* A dragged rectangle (for import) size to be seen somewhere! This way, you don't have to hunt for 0,0 pixel twice, which is absolute nightmare, especially with high pointer speed. Even better if you could manually enter frame size.

For example, Game Maker makes tiled sprite import absolute blast, you don't even have to use mouse for anything

* Ability to resize that whole window. Tilesheets tend to be huge, and it doesn't help if you can see only small portion of it, even with well-working scrollbars

Also on the issue,

* AGS could remember last sprite opened when you press "import sprite from a file" and also if "tiled sprite import" box is ticked

Sorry if this thread is not for suggestions

You wouldn't want to blow up your car over some gas?
A dummy/toy mine wouldn't work too, because someone would report police and before you know, it'll be destroyed with water cannon in heroic attempt at defusal.

So, a sticker would be best. Might work better if you live in Texas or something, though. Or in Russia/Mexico, you could simply write "this car belongs to close ones of <local criminal authority name here>"

How about a sticker saying something like "This vehicle has 6 claymore anti-personnel mines installed with electric triggers. Touching the car might break electric circuit thus activate mines. Don't gamble with your life, stay the fuck off."

Sorry but you totally killed title text/banner with desaturation. Also, I'd keep the princess and horse in full saturation of the original.
Art can be spontaneous, you don't have to press it into some "safe" limits, like "not too bright" "not too dark" etc.
What you could do though is bring some colors out more while leaving others as on latest edit.
Like reds on evil queen thing, sea in mirror, wings on fairies, etc. A bit of neon-glowing, fairy-tale-esque effect, I think. Snow White example does exactly this.

Who uses slow, ad-ridden piece of trash imageshack anyway nowadays? Imgur is where the party's at. Also, it's kind of incorporated with new cool IM client Digsby.

General Discussion / Re: Who has 5.1?
Fri 25/02/2011 11:40:07
7.1, helluva old Intel motherboard
While good set of headphones along with 7.1/5.1 system DOES make great difference in most new games, it costs alot.

5.1 headsets (real ones, not some USB emulated-ones) are made of pure crystal and fairy dust and last for 4-5 months max, and are very expensive to replace. "Last" I mean physically. I'm having about 5th or 6th set right now and all have broken so far, even though I'm quite careful..

Also, listening to music with 5.1 sucks somehow and windows 7 is very picky about drivers, forcing to replace 100% compatible factory driver with shitty no-name standard drivers from almighty microsoft (case of IDT Audio here) or there will be no sound... Which is bad, since those drivers deny most of the features. For example, I had headsets with built-in vibration thingy for bass, and it was awesome with Sigmatel original driver. With W7 driver, it doesn't work. There's more examples, but I don't remember.

In conclusion, number of channels on built-in-soundcard wouldn't change my motherboard choice, but if it doesn't add any significant extra cost, I'd take 5.1/7.1 over stereo. But force it to work on 2.1 and use heavy-duty DJ headsets with it -- more than enough for music and video. And maybe dust off 5.1 headsets if I'm in longer gaming period.

AFAIK, most spam "users" never do anything. Bots register automatically, but since it's automated, nothing ever happens.
And only way to avoid them is to use secret question and/or hi-level captcha.

Green Street Hooligans. Rather dumb and unbelievable flick, but it's got drama, action, pretty people and Elijah Wood in a role you would never imagine. Think of Romper Stomper meeting Twilight.

Using an eq to cut everything above a certain frequency is not a good way to test either. Songs are very spectrally complex and no eq can infinitely cut at a specific frequency. If you want to test your hearing you need clear tones.

Nay, I used 3xosc in FL Studio and slided sine wave from lowest possible note to highest. Parametric EQ2 shows also exactly in which Hz sound is playing, so I DO know that those frequencies played. But as for my headset, not really sure if it played higher ones.
