My youtube relationship is still so young, but I have been thinking about an AGS related project with youtube. I really want to see adventure game developers, than just read them. I know the podquests were highly entertaining (well I thought they were) so why don't we have something similar with video? Hmmm?

Let's play is a great idea, Dom! I may join you.... if not at least watch you. (I think I'm sounding rather creepy in that last sentence)

It should be text. Well I think I may need to borrow a friend's laptop to see the show. Life without a computer is hard.

It's actually a laptop, so I think having a look is a no. All I did since hearing something from my speakers was burning some disks. I don't know if that would do anything. In general my laptop feels rather warmer than usual  :-\ I think I'll need to get it checked just in case there is any more damage.

Also the static is all I hear(just in the earphones, and nothing in the speakers) , and it is pretty loud and completely uncontrollable with the volume control.

Just since this afternoon I haven't been able to hear any sound from my speakers.  This has happened to me before and was fixed with a quick reboot or a driver update, but this time it's different. I have updated my drivers about 3 times now (most recent, back to factory driver, then to most recent again). Still nothing. I have been restarting Windows Audio in Services, checking for any problems in My Devices, and still nothing. Also I have noticed that when I plug in earphones all you can hear is static, that seems to in time with the CPU and also gets very hot.

What else can I do? System restore is a no no since I've updated my drivers and hence deleted the previous restore points. Any kind of system checker I've downloaded seems to report everything is working fine. Which is making me think it might be the actual hardware that is broken.

Any advice or experience to part on the subject?

Excuses, excuses, excuses... When will you ever finish case 8?

Just kidding. I've been looking forward to this for a while.

General Discussion / Re: Organ Donation

I would choose death over being a kind of "zombie" basically. Really, my problem is that it is a dead body that is being used instead of the person being laid to rest.
Maybe my descriptions of this all are a little drastic, but I don't like the thought of being farmed to prolong someone's, possibly already reckless, life. I know I should never be the judge of someone's life, but it really offends me as a living human being when I hear of already transplanted organs failing due to the possessor falling back to their old ways.

Heh I know my opinion isn't the most popular in this case, and my argument is rather hypocritical since I would never donate my organs. However I really do feel sorry for the dead people whose charitable act was a waste and that they will never be at rest.

I'm really happy Stupot understands my view, and I entirely commend his decision to become a donor. At the end of the day it is a donation, not a harvest. So why should I be a crop?

There is a thread here.

Heh the one topic I'm rather controversial with...

For one I don't think an opt out system on anything is good. I wouldn't like the government demand something from me because it's the law and I never filled out/or heard of the proper paperwork to make sure this was prevented.

I have great respect for what people are willing to do for others, but when it comes to someone's dead body, I believe they should be laid to rest. Not chopped and diced up, and fed around the needy while the family gets the debris to pay their respects to. Even if they are giving the gift of continued life after their demise, which is very honourable, I just don't believe we should be doing this. However I won't stand in the way of someone donating their organs, if it happens. As far as I know the family "get the final" say on the matter, even if you possess a card.

I get a lot of comments about my opinion on organ donation, that I'm being selfish because I'm not being a donor. Which is entirely wrong. I would never accept an organ from anyone if I was in such a situation. Also donating your organs is an important personal and a charitable choice. Not something you should do by force or peer pressure.

(I'll say sorry in advance of my beliefs, because I know I'm "always in the wrong" with my opinion on this subject)

Another one to add to the list, PC & video related:

Video files won't upload on youtube. Not had this problem before. All other uploading procedures are fine, ie FTP uploads, uploading photos to facebook. Videos used to upload fine but now my connection will upload maybe a meg at most and then nothing more, and the bar will stay in the same place and the upload never completes.

What could be wrong? Is there some settings in "internet options" i should have on/off? And what about Windows Firewall? You can't list websites as exceptions so what should I be looking for? Many thanks
Youtube has been rather buggy the last couple of weeks because of a major update.

After spending over a year "working" with a touch pad I prefer it over a mouse.... :-X

I've been reading the forums for the past 5 or 6 years (Joined in 2004) and, yeah back then I found a lot more to read. But I think that is all due to AGS being all brand new to me back then. Now, years later, I've grown up with AGS and I'm still excited with everything that goes on in the forums, just my "standards" have risen in what I read and participate in thread-wise.*

I believe this is the case with older members hardly posting, but are still visiting the forums and why newer members seem to be more active.

*I don't mean this in any particular snooty way, just maybe the occurrence of threads about topics that were previously discussed etc

Oh my! I don't think I'm worthy working with the same program that is used to create games like this. Very, very excited for this!
#178
Heh good job. Hour games are a lot of fun, and sometimes allow you to learn new things or practice the little things, such as scripting dialogue etc.
I haven't played the games yet, but I might get round to it later on.

More AGS related videos? I might get round to film something involving AGS but I am pretty lazy  ;)
