Yes, the bug might have been fixed.

I cannot use magnet machine as I did with the old version though!

That is intended. We're missing a puzzle just before we're supposed to use that console and that's why the game would crash. I'm stumped as to what I missed myself. :P

I've just downloaded the fixed version, but now I'm unable to use the magnet's console? He says he won't do it.

In the old version, he did it but the game crashed afterwards.

I'm stuck here also. I've got the power on but I must have missed something because he says, "I have no reason to use that console." Can anyone help me with the puzzle I must have missed just prior to the console puzzle?

Great game so far! I love the graphics and great music as well. I'm stuck and I'm also getting that error. PMing you the details.

General Discussion / Re: Ultraviolet

I haven't seen it yet, but I will. I'm a sucker for anything even close to comic book related. Well ... except Catwoman. :P

I mean it is starring Milla Jovovich tho! She was also in the 5th element which is quite possibly my favorite movie of all time. Plot? Plot? Who needs a plot. Give me great visuals anyday. :P When I'm in need of a great plot I'll read a book.

Cool first game. It had no bugs and was short and sweet. Nice graphic style, simple and nice. I loved the puzzles, mostly the fact that I could actually figure them out. :)

The Rumpus Room / Re: AGS Questionaire!

Name: Mike Doak

Age: 30

Female/male: Male.

1. How long have you been involved in the AGS community?
Since back in the Ez-Board days. I would say late 2000 or early 2001.

2. Why did you get involved in AGS?
I had been programmingÃ,  with QuickBasic and found it easy but too limiting. So I searched the net for something else and came up with AGS.

3. How do you feel that the fact that AGS is a freeware programme affect the community that has built up around it?
It is a good thing. I would pay for AGS myself, but many others wouldn't have. The more the merrier.

4. How big a part does the AGS community play in your life?
The community? I'm not sure. AGS? Quite a large portion.

5. Have you been involved in making any games using AGS?
Yes. Pizza Quest, ROTN 2 1/2, Castle Quest Demo, Fatman.

6. Answer these questions if you have been involved in making AGS games:

a. Were you interested in game design/programming before you started using AGS?
Yes.

c. Do you make games using other programmes, either freeware or not? How does the eperience differ?
Yes, I have tried but they all need this stuff called code or something. I'm not that great at writing it.

d. Has AGS inspired you to try and take up game design professionally?
Yes it did, silly me.

7. Do you feel that there is a gender divide in the AGS community?
No idea.

8. Are you likely to feel differently about a game if you discover it's made by a female? In what way?
No.

9. Do you feel that AGS makes it easier for females to get involved in computer game design? In what way?
No idea.

10. Do you feel that there is a difference between the types of games created by males and females?
I can't even keep the forum avatars straight much less remember who made what game. So, no not much of a noticeable difference for me.

11. Any other comments?
...and because I don't like pie... Well, unless its lemon meringue... PLAY ACE QUEST!

Figured I'd throw my 2 cents into all this.

I love the AGI games old and new. Not because of the nostalgic graphics but because of the text interface. It adds so much more depth to the game. The game almost goes from an interactive movie to an interactive book. Props to those that are keeping em alive. Me? I'd never have the patience to program a text parser.

I don't think you need to move it. I wouldn't even worry much about exactness of the shading in a style that's this polarized. Just my 2 cents.
#150
Nice background. I like the edges and harshness of this one. Although I prefered the obelisk before you changed it.
#151
I love that site. Good stuff.
#152
Quote... but I want to make it more imposing ...
The background looks a bit cartoonish to me. If you're going for a darker more somber tone I would steer the graphics in a more realistic direction. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed, also do you even have any of the game done yet?

My advice is focus on the game, voice files are super easy to add to the game and can be done when the game is finished.

Actually, editing and adding in sound/voice files to a game blows. Its super boring and tedious. But I agree, it should be the last thing on your list. It was on mine.

Being a Space Quest fan, I love a good death. However, walking-deads are another matter. Those are a big no-no.

That is a great final edit. You've got the style of the first one back, but now she is 100% all woman. Nice work. My only critique would be her ear. It needs just a slight touch up to fit in with the sleeker face.

Those two years just flew by, didn't they?Ã,  ;)

Aye, they sure did. Strange this thread would get bumped of all times.

Not necessarily horror but you'll find a dark atmosphere in Pleurghburg: Dark Ages..!

Great game that one!
#158
There is already a Manhunter sequel. It's called Pleurghburg. Wow, I can't believe I know how to spell that just off the top of my head.

Dan's edit certainly is the most feminine, so if the guy wants pretty girl, it's the way to go. I'm just not sure if it will fit your style.

Yeah, I agree. Your drawing has great style. I'm a fan of your artwork.Ã,  I would go with zyndikate's subtle edit on the chin, and perhaps a bit more shapely on the waist.

I'm curious did you draw that with pencils and then flashify it, or direct with an art tablet?

I am definetly still working on my game, if I'll make the Feb. anniversary I dunno.

Eric, you're still working on that! Sweet! I thought you had given up on it long ago. I still have the demo of the intro that you released god only knows how long ago. You will finish it, you want to finish it. :)
