Ahhh, nothing like taking a sickday. I try to work when I'm sick and save my sickdays for something worthwhile. Like NOT working. :)

But, I always seem to use up my sickdays for the year before the end of march. :(

I just download the Sibylla demo. Looks cool, makes me wish I could draw non-cartoon style.

Os àšltimo Quão Queijo: No need to worry about tying the plot into the SQ6 game.

LGM: Thanks for the offer(s).

I'm looking forward to everyone's submissions. :)

hehe ... Thanks for the heads up on the date. :)

Heyah!

Yes, the subject says it all. I'm starting a Space Quest fangame. I want something small and fun to work on, as I develop my flash skills, before I go on to my next commercial game. Here are the details: http://wiw.org/~jess/forum/viewtopic.php?p=67796#67796

Good luck!

I am loving this Flash program!

I drew up a few test backgrounds to try and find my style within Flash for my next game ... and this is the one I've settled on. Tell me what you think. As usual I'm comic and DOTT inspired, I think I've blended the two styles nicely, but you tell me. :)

This picture is great, very pleasing on the eyes. I love the shirt w/ all its folds, and the color choices.

My only issue is the same one that has already been mentioned. (The wall looks a little flat.) But this hardly detracts from the great image.

Nice thats the rare SQ1 box!

you could export as png with alpha channel... then import it into a 32-bit game.... and it looks beautiful. Now, about megs... that's another story ;)

This is awesome, and it looks great! This is exactly what I was looking for!

Squinky if you need any help (I know I did. MrC walked me thru it on MSN IM) just pull me up I'm: socko_entertainment@hotmail.com

what version of flash do you have?

do you go to export image?

That's what I did, exported it as a 24 bit bitmap 200 dpi and then scaled it in photoshop with bilineal sampling
I have the trial version of Flash MX.

Yes, I did export the image. I should note that the character was originally on a pure white background and I pasted him on a the purple background to show the antialias.

Your sprite looks great, however when imported he'll still have the antialias.

Now it's purple. :( Anyway around this?

My goal is of course to find a quick easy way to get a vector from flash into AGS with the least work possible. :)

Ok I drew up my test Rodekill in Flash, and of course when I goto export my vector drawing as a .bmp raster drawing I get the nasty antialias as shown here:

Now, I can take this to Paint Shop Pro and pixel push my way to a nice spirte devoid of these nasty artifacts, but needless to say that would be quite time consuming. :)

Any of you flash artists have any tricks up your sleeves for this?

#211
Ok, for those of you looking for the full game on CD you can now find it here.
#212
Cool game so far. I haven't finished it yet. Cool graphics.
#213
Thanks for the info. I downloaded both PAP and SWiSH. Very interesting SWiSH, the only thing it's missing is the all important raster to vector conversion tool. Sadly so is ToonBoom it seems. :(
#214
Ok all you graphic artists. Help me out here.

Is Flash worth that price-tag? (It's a good $300 more than ToonBoom Studio.)

I've downloaded both and my 30 day trial period is about to expire. I've got to make a decision. On the one hand Flash is a well known product that has loads of how-to books. On the other hand (at least with my limited knowledge) ToonBoom studio appears to do everything Flash can ... for MUCH less. :)

Anyone that has had any experience with either of these, that can shed some light on the subject?

I took great lengths in Fatman to have deaths. I love them. Space Quest deaths were a true inspiration. However, in all fairness there just must be a *retry* option ... unless you like getting flamed. :P

Wow, this year everything is very organized. Bravo!

The old radio shows were done in almost this exact narration style. I must admit Goldmund your performance was over the top. But that was the point! :)
#218
Yeah, Goldmund ... I just dont understand how people don't find that voice/accent perfect for the game. :)

m0ds: I'm just glad everyone is getting a chance to play the game. Now if it wins an AGS award [maybe the music award? ;)] ... that would be awesome.

BTW thanks everyone that nominated it!
#219
I play 24/7. I'm on the Kettemoor server. Rodekill look me up my name is Ikor. I'm such a huge Star Wars fan ... I've been sucked in ... help! :)

I loved this game! I chose both paths Dark and Light. I was surprised at how un-fun the dark side was. :)
