Depends on what you mean here. Pablo is one of my best friends as in I trust him and can talk to him about anything etc, and AJA is the first of my current circle of friends I acquinted, but the nature of our friendship is much more light-hearted and in a way distant yet as I see it still strong. But either of those.

It uses the custom text box if you use it to With Background, so if that's not white I'm not sure how to work around it other than changing the custom text box GUI each time a speech event occurs and then changing back. But I might've missed something, been a while since I've really worked with that stuff.

AGS may just aswell remain free, but the XNA Adventure Studio will, as expected, be monies to pay probably...

Oh, seems like it's time I get a console too...

Always nice to see AGS progress, anyhow :)

If you're in the same "circle" as the person of your interest it's rather easy without any specific pickup lines. And by circle here I mean same group, same table, some ring of chairs... something where a conversation can occur. As said conversation occurs, you can just direct your comments at said person - tho it's rather easy to make a fool out of ourself here too - and based on their reactions you'll about see if it's worth pursuing further... In most cases. But from there on you won't need an opener, just to take the opportunity to get to talk to them in more private, such usually show up.

Tho that naturally doesn't always work, but with the right conditions you just might get lucky...

I just realised I haven't been subjected to pickup lines that I remember, probably because I don't go out alone, but in more or less scary groups...

It looks like the function room_load() doesn't have brackets, but parenthesis. I think that makes a difference.

Yeah, that... A pixel or so difference so I missed it :P

I don't care as much about larger resolutions, but how about being able to specify window size up to the resolution size... like if I want to make a game in widescreen, say to match the PSP 480x272, or smaller like the DS 256x192...
or even if I want a game window that's vertical.

You can already script that, can't you? Well not window size, but playable area size. Using mouse bounds (they still are in, right?) and a 320x200/240 GUI with the game area size hole in it to hide any extra stuff easily...

I'd guess it's about your dialog script, does that do anything special? Run dialog_request for exampe? Since line -10 isn't inside the script and nothing seems wrong there it must be somewhere else.

The ideal outcome I had it mind was someone telling me "Hey, I have a copy laying around. You'rs for the postage!" :=

I have Guardians of Destiny myself too. And I couldn't find it on emule on the servers I looked on, and by experience I know downloading anything big over emule is a game of luck.

Thank you anyway, I found it already. I knew I can count on this community :)

To put it simple, I've exhausted all the means I have within my reach to find this game. I'm looking for Westwood Studios' Lands of Lore III from 1999. I've seen the game listed as abandonware, yet I haven't found it on any abandonware sites I know of. I've googled and tried everything I can think of, including DC++, emule, google, torrent sites, and some google.

So, can anyone help me out? I'd like to find the game, but it seems to have vanished off the internet, so I was wondering if anyone here knew how to acquire a copy?

QuoteBy default, the editor fills the SaveGameFolder in General Settings with the game's name. It means that by default my My Documents folder is gonna get seriously crowded as more games are released. Could the default behaviour be to leave it blank, like standard AGS behaviour so far?

Not really -- the reason for this defaulting as it does is because of Vista and its permission issues around Program Files. Therefore, if the default was to write save games to the same folder as the game EXE, it could fail on Vista systems.

I appreciate that this way could clutter up your My Docs folder though, I'm not sure what the best compromise is? I guess it could create a single "AGS Games" folder in My Documents and then create the game save directories under that, but people would probably think that didn't look very professional for their game.

My Documents\My Games := That's where most games put their stuff nowdays anyway, with some annoying exceptions.

And how many redistribution packages, runtimes, plugins, extra .dlls or other junk would the end user have to install to play a game or use the editor with all that in it?

Ishmael: Good one, can you post some photos of ghots you mentioned?

No, because a) the people in the photos also probably wouldn't want said photos on the internet and b) I'm not at all sure if I even have them anymore.

The summer of 2006, the Lapaset meeting, we're at the beach, and since I wasn't in the mood for swimming I documented some of the swimming fun, and... http://www.veriloylykauha.net/images/lapaset/lapaset_P1000857.html

I'm also rather good at photographing ghosts...

* Game hangs when skipping cutscene
--> Ishmael, please post an update and more details about when this happens as requested

Oh, sorry, I had toyed around with it but forgot to post my results. Although I didn't really achieve any results... However, I'm not absolutely sure, but it could be that the fast-forward runs into a set of dialog options if the cutscene is skipped at the right time where it's past the skip test but not yet past the options. I can script myself around this though, if it indeed is the case.

Personally most of the time I know what I'm doing, and I wouldn't want any extra errors for things that really aren't game breaking...

I recall AGS just using the last used loop/closest possible loop in place of an unexisting one at some point? Or have I just managed to not come across this problem before? If so, would such behaviour be possible to implement at some point to completely get rid of the warnings? (And document it in the manual so we can smack people for not reading it..)

I don't mind dragging the splitters around, but the window doesn't seem to remember it's size for me for some reason... Tho my computer seems messed up enough already that it might be just me there.

Go chat somewhere else please.

I'm interested, but right now I have no idea whatsoever of my next summer's free time, financial situation or any travelling possibilities altogether.
