I think the period of time should be not longer than one week. So the members wouldn't lose motivation. It shouldn't be who gets the most rooms or longest storyline, it shopuld be the originality captured in given theme and adaption of gameplay!

It might just take that one week to properly organise your team for this sort of stuff. So the deadline should in my opininon be further away.

I'd be in this time 'round. Give it a go, with some changes based on what potentially went wrong last times, and we might a slightly greater percentage of the games done, too.

I wonder if it had any effect if the board was renamed to "Activities and Competitions"... Although, the current name rolls off the tongue much smoother.

Not too messy, because I push everything out of sight under something. :)

I wouldn't mind a competition if it could be carried out objectively enough, but I have a slight doubt that if we for example decide on an artificial winner of each round by voting, the reasons behind given votes could vary a bit too much, say, for liking one person over the others to having read the cleanest correct English spelling and grammar from another, either of which are no reasons to vote for someone.

But instead a chat room meeting could work, and we happen to have an IRC server where to meet up for such. We could arrange the sharing of stories here, and then have a chatroom meeting for the ones interested. Or something like that... Make it an activity, not a competition.

I like to write, but I usually loose the main point halfway to the end of anything, because I let the story stretch too far. I think I should learn to let it end when I run out of ideas, no matter how short the story is. I have a few unfinished stories laying around, and am currently starting on a longer one. I'm doing way more planning on this one than I have done on any other, so I have a feeling I might actually finish atleast a draft of it.

I've written some movie scripts and a number of short stories, but the quality hasn't been amazing. I think I can write, but my problem is that I let everything slip to 'ready' after the first draft, I'm too impatient to let it lay for a while, read through, and mend the things that seems like they need it. But as school started again, and I have a lot of free times between my lessons I've noticed getting a cup of coffee and sitting at the silent hallway with a pen and paper works miracles on designing things, which has always been my weakest point. I've never really planned everything, just written ahead, letting the plot develop as I go, and then suddenly hitting a wall in everything.

I'm also in a for a writers' thing, but I'm no organiser of any sort...

I wasn't gay when I first joined this community but I was a stupid noob back then. Sleeping in the same bed with Grundislav at Brittens changed it all. Nobody has criticised me about this yet, though. Well, apart from Grundislav maybe. He never responded to my love.

..WHAT? >:(

Ok, thanks for the info. I can work with that, I just wasn't aware it works that way.

These aren't the graphics and music everyone has already used you're looking for.

Hello,

Code: ags
An unexpected error occurred. Please note down the following information and contact CJ.

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'D:\AGS\Editor\28beta6\vt\room2.asc'.

File name: 'D:\AGS\Editor\28beta6\vt\room2.asc'

I loaded up my game, right-clicked the 'Rooms' -thing in the tree-view, selected to create a new room, then renamed the room2.* files to room100.*s, went back to the editor and tried opening room 2 from the list. Basically nothing new from the old editor, just you might want to do something about it?

I'm so used to the way the old room editor worked, as I could easily see a summary of all my rooms, etc. This new thing just confuses me. And I can't find the option to refresh the room list anywhere. I have a thing for numbering rooms very specifically, but the way the editor works now I have very little chance for that. Could double-clicking the Rooms option bring up an old-fashioned room editor view with all the rooms and their descriptions listed, and the option to load the rooms and refresh the list from there?

QuoteI hope I haven't missed anything... But how do I reorder rooms? Is the only way still to change the file name, or does that even work anymore?

Do you mean change the room number, or change the order they appear in the editor's list?

The room number. And this probably will affect the order they appear in the editor, too... I was wondering since there are two files for each room now, or so it seems atleast.

And I say an optional Tip of the Day thing or similiar appearing once a game is loaded, with a checkbox or something for it in the start up wizard's first page or so, but no assistant. I've always turned them off in everything. (MS Office, that is...)

Ah, I had forgotten about Object.Tint. Naturally that'd be much easier to do than sprites.

And by saying floodfill I meant a tool that colours the whole are, and not a pencil/paint brush type one.
#377
It's doable, sure, but needs some scripting.

The easiest approach I can think of now is to have only a floodfill type tool, and make every colourable area in every available colour as different sprites, then for example arrange them as objects in a room, and when clicked on change the object's sprite to the same area with the selected colour in it. A lot of management to keep track of all the sprites, but making it with RawDraw would probably be even more work.

I hear GIMP is impossible to use...

Ghost why do you need partition managers just simply use fdisk.

And destroy everything with it. I once touched fdisk, and lost all partitions of said hard drive beyond any sort of data recovery.

A program called Partition Magic or something can do it, even without formating anything, IIRC.

Hello, and welcome. I hope you enjoy your time with AGS. :) It's a very nice community, in the end.

Just a friendly piece of advice, I've understood some people around here are not so impressed with anything related to RPG Maker for various reasons, but I guess all programming experience is good when it comes to AGS.

And something tells me you'll get pointed here sooner or later in a more or less polite or not-so-polite way. But that'd be too late already, so I don't quite see the point...

As suddenly resource-hogness matters again, you could, unless you're a total IE-hater already, try Maxthon for web browsing, which while using the IE renderer and other IE things (like the file download system) uses less memory than IE.
