General Discussion / Re: Games page

www. being a subdomain it's sort of needed to make address-dependant stuff work. So the games page won't work under any other subdomain than www for adventuregamestudio.co.uk.

I sense a conspiracy here...

However:
El Drey: Your image is colour reduced as is suggested by the noisy dithering and the random grey/green pixels, the closeness of some of the colours . Maybe you could show how your bigger original looked or your reference?

but only:

QuoteWow buloght, that's insane. Great sprites!

I hate to bring this up, but as I'm up for fair play too: wouldn't it fair that buloght's first sprite will be disqualified, being made way before the beginning of the round?

You can make a GUI with a textbox and a button in it, and have the button run a function which figures what was typed into the box and execute further stuff based on that.

I don't mind small banners, but on boards that don't have any physical size limit to signatures they sometimes cause horrible disorder in a thread. Especially when people with huge signartures are sending one line posts one after another. I don't mind small images, but big ones I don't like. If you have something you need to express by an image in your signature, make it compact. That's just my opinion and sort of a suggestion, though.

It's just plain silly. Yeah, blame the games. The kids will go around buying laser guns or battlewalkers and squish each others to pieces with them. Sure. Games are really too easy to blame, but with a bit of reason those accusations can be - to some extent - overcome easily. Like for some people games are a way of unloading agression. So, where in this scheme do they gather more and more of it to the point where they get a gun and go actually shoot real people? I don't see it.

And there's no left mouse button on a gun, neither can it be remapped to one. Atleast not on the current ballistic weapons, I don't know about the stuff Bush's guys have locked up over at the 51... :=

I think the voting progression remaind just a tiny bit too not secret last year ¬¬ Otherwise, decently run.

The plugin/module/resource stuff should be one category, I think, to clear it up a bit. Voice acting award's also a good idea in my opinion. I'm not sure what to do with the innovation one, but as I haven't played even near to every game released this year I wouldn't know what all people have come up with. But sure, some sort of technical or otherwise achievement closer to AGS than what the lifetime award is could very well work.

I notice that in 2005, there were two awards for "scripting". I think these should be renamed "dialogue" and "programming" to clarify the difference.

But AGS scripting isn't programming, is it? People use quite a bounch of ready-made script functions most of the time, so it should be 'Dialogue writing' and 'Scripting' or something...

Vote TOMB OF THE MOON for BEST SLIDER PUZZLE category!!!1!one

Simple. They work if you have a working team.

I think Ben continued his biker gang leading business. (Unless there's something I've missed)

And of my own games I know Bob from MRC will continue being a policeman, and Adrian from TotM will continue on his occupation (Which however is not history professor...)

I don't blog...

I do have a net journal where I write on random intervals about anything that might cross my mind between the earth and sky, and sometimes maybe even beyond. And I don't know if anyone reads it, and doesn't really bother me. It's not pretty read anyway. If you're really interested, you'll find it yourself...

In this order 'scept not:

Pleurgbflers: The Asylum
Adrian Ford in Just Another Indiana Jones Ripoff (or whatever's it called)

I'm tired of being exited about waiting for FOY. I'll just wait untill it comes out and then maybe be excited about it.

I thought it was bad when they started puting labels on plain M&M's that said, "This product is produced in a factory that also produces products containing peanuts and/or tree nuts.Ã,  Trace amounts may be present in this product."

That's not that bad. The only warning labels around here (aside the ones on electronics that cauntion you about burning your eye or getting shocked by it etc) are on candy bars and such saying the product may contain nuts or some other ingredient. Tho, around here they just say "May contain peanut." or something...
