Chess battle? Battle Chess!

I assume this is about the screenshot you posted in your 'pub master quest 2' GIP thread. It looked
interesting. Give us some information on how you want it to work and I'm sure people can give you
a few tips on how to approach it.

It's.. Cleavage!

It could have been, but no. I think it was a bit before 2005, can't really remember though :( I only remember it ending up shared 1st place with another one. I guess I only remember that because I rarely win anything :D

The entry in the manual is just an example of how PreviousRoom can be used. Khris´ code is just what you need  :)

Found one of my old entries, shared 1st place if I remember correctly. That means there were probably only two entries ;) Can't remember which year/month it was. The theme was something about worshipping kitchen appliances I think.

A little off-topic, but does anyone have the log/files or anything of the ez-boards, I'd love to look at those if anyone has them. I mean some guy must have kept them!

There is some stuff left on the.. Internet Archive! Lots of dead links but still a lot of stuff on there. Fun to read!

I'm also adding you. I could use some giggles!

Your effort is noble.

Helloes!

I'm experiencing some StartCutscene/EndCutscene problems. I have a small script with a door opening, a character walking in, two characters having a conversation, and the door closing again. At the start I've put a StartCutscene(eSkipESCOnly); and at the end there's an EndCutscene(); And it works fine. The only problem is that when I skip the cutscene it skips to the end but it plays all the sound effects I've used in the cutscene (someone knocking on a door, the door opening, and the door closing) at the same time. It skips all the conversation etc. but it still plays the sound effects. I only have this problem in the 3.2 RC2 edition. I quickly recreated a similar scene in 3.1.2 SP1 and it works fine. So perhaps it's something with the new audio system?

Don't worry Joseph, you're not alone!  ;) I've been trying to make a game for quite a few years now and I still havn't managed to release something. I can do ok art. Nothing amazing but as long as people can recognize what I draw it's all fine with me.

As Mods said, self discipline is my problem. I have to be more persistant. I usually start working on a game with all kinds of ideas, but after I've done about 4 or 5 rooms and added some characters and an intro, I get bored of it. I'm currently on my 5th or 6th rpg project with AGS now. At least it gets easier every time I restart, so perhaps the 10th attempt will be a finished game!

Last week my pc broke down just while I was working on the latest attempt. I had everything backed up (lesson learnt in 2001; harddisk crash, Star Spoof gone) but I couldn't use my pc for a few days. I lost interest during those days and some ideas for a regular adventure game popped up. I'm really trying to be persistant this time and continue work on the rpg.

Sorry for being a bit off-topic!

I second Deadwood and The IT Crowd. Loved/loving both of them. Which explains my avatar! :)

You're fast indeed! Enjoyed the demo, downloading now!

Just watched the demo. That's really well done! Great module!
#54
Well they are muggers  ;)

This is really well done! Looks great and plays well. Took me a while to kill that womprat, he was a tough bugger :)
I thought the "respawning" in the ship was intentional. At least it's less frustrating compared to a "game over" screen.

Keep up the good work!

Pre-ordered it at various stores, just in case. They seem to be expecting a shortage of the game, at least in Holland. I love the game series. Every game just got better and better. Also looking forward to the multiplayer modes, and the DLC on Xbox 360!

I prefer your translation Who doesn't want to window lick?

Ah I loved seeing that again. It's so weird and funky.

Used to love the Efteling when I was younger. The Fata Morgana was my favourite :)

But back to the subject. I get inspiration from a lot of things. Like other (ags)games. After playing Eric's 6 Day Assassin I wanted to make my own hitman-based game (and probably started one, only to quit working on it after a while). Yahtzee's 1213 got me into making a similar game; I actually put quite some work into this one. Never finished it though. And after playing World of Warcraft for a while, it inspired me to once again attempt another RPG in AGS. Which is what I'm still working on.

Not only games though. Also movies/tv shows. Whenever I watch a movie or an episode of (insert random show) I find myself thinking "how could I put this into an adventure game".

Def, could you see if RC 1 works on your 64-bit system?

It works. It starts up at least, havn't had time to test it fully but I guess it should be ok. Thanks for the quick fix Chris!
