And all this makes me wonder even more why exactly does my girlfriend want to study English culture and spend a year in the GB :P Though I bet she hasn't heard what I have... I must warn her of all of this

Tell her to study english in Ireland. All the greatest English cultural influences were really from Ireland :P

If she does study in Ireland, make sure to mention our awful roads system, the health service of a third world country, our tendency to screwdriver people to deathhttp://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article3451678.ece and a government run by chimps with ADHD.

I've sent it to lo rez, We'll soon have an ending to this fairy tale. (and the sunset into which we sail)

Grim Fandango was original, I dont think you can argue with that.

Heres what you do right, and I want you to listen very carefully.
1 Run yourself a bath, preferably with camomile.
2 Put on some gentle Jazz
3 get a nice book you enjoy.
4 Scream your fucking head off
5 kick a hole in the drywall of your house

You'll feel much better!

Id say tied for first place would be CMI and Grim Fandango, then MI 1 and 2 in 2nd place followed by the chzo mythos in third.

Maaan, being one of the first ones sucks. You get all the blame, and you're kept in the dark most of the time...

Oh yeah, and I should mention that Dicky = Jack Sheehan. I call him Dicky 'cause I found out his real name is Richard :P

How did you discover that? I'm just curious.

Well, there was that German TV show where they were demonstrating how to use AGS, and it crashed live on air ;)

They probably forgot the semi colon.

I repeat my question:
Are there any video tuts for AGS?

I think it would be a real boost for the community, getting more people to start making their own first games.
It often can feel quite boring and heavy to start learning a new editor by having to  go thru a heap of text.
Let's face it, people are lazy.

I was just thinking this today. Perhaps we could have a competition to see who can produce the best video tutorial? AGS feels very inaccessible at first (though it actually isnt) and a video tutorial could introduce more people to it.

Thats perfect, thanks a million. I may not be good at scripting, but I'm getting there. Thanks again.

This is really irritating me because it's so simple and it was easy to do in 2.72. When I set a simple object interaction, he walks towards it and picks it up, but it disappears before he reaches it.

The code is:
function oBlock_Interact()
{
cEric.Walk (217, 154);
oBlock.Visible=false ;
}

How can I make it disappear after he stops walking? Cheers.

Originality is hard. It's a simple fact that most things have been done before and better. A good way of doing things is to take a different perspective. For example, and please dont steal this idea, a game I am writing is set in a crumbling dictorship. Thats been done before, right? Well I'm setting things from the point of view of a weatherman in the propaganda broadcasting station. The rebels are never seen, nor are any government officials or soldiers.

Settings are always going to remind us of something else, the trick is putting your own spin on things.

Dun Laoighre? Fancy that, I'm in Stillorgan, I had no idea there was an AGS community in Ireland. Think seriously about the Islands though, I went there last summer and it was fantastic.

Holy Jesus Christ almighty, we have a whole country and you choose Corofin?!? I mean, its a beautiful place and all but good luck getting a shop within a few miles. I've barely heard of Corofin and I live in Dublin for Gods sake.

On the plus side the burren is very nice but I think a better choice would have been Inis Móare. The biggest of the Aran islands, it has some of the most breathtaking scenery you'll ever see. Plus it's a Gaeltacht area so you can have loads of hilarious incidents trying to speak to the locals. If any of you have seen Father Ted the ship from the opening sequence is on Inis Mor.

I have actually passed through Corofin and It's a rather dumpy little town, Inis Oirr has one of the nicest Coral beaches in Europe.

I'm serious if this isn't set in stone consider the aran islands, you can even fly with Aer Aran if you hate boats!

Edit it keeps editing M ó are to Moare for some reason.
