Screens are good! Make sure you created a small situation that the character need to complete without too much trouble or delay, a good example of a small game is Annie Android, by Ben. It`s a small and fun game, that ilustrate how a small game have to be. Few rooms, 1-14 rooms are a good amount for a small game, i mean rooms, not rooms that could be frames. I never ended a game on AGS, but if i tried starting a small one, for sure i would finish it. But i'm very stubborn, so i want to create a big one  ::)

diferent costumes? yeah, cool, or maybe you can play as a new character! But with the same dialogues, just a new cloth (a monkey! or a bannana!).

A Tale of Two Kingdoms have a good documentation too. Should i add a walkthrough to my manual? In the end i think of putting the walkthrough there and an index for the walkthrough. It`s a bad idea?
#365
Yeah, reading manuals can help creating one, but i want a opinion as a player, what you, a player, want to know about the game?
#366
you made the graphics in flash uh? well, i don`t liked the RPG thing, but liked the game! But not the battle system... well, will we have to flush itens on the toilet to bring them to future will we?

Hi everyone, i`m making my game manual, and then some questions poped up on my mind;

*what the manual must have? Excluding how to play the game, of course.
*what atractives will be good to add to it? (images, organizated text...)
*and what more i can do to make it look professional?

Thanks!

WOW! Great artwork!!!!!  :o but yeah Snarky is right, creating a small game is better, because you have the felling of "ha! I completed a game, i`m good, but i can do bigger and better!" I didn`t take that advice, never done a game in AGS before and already making a medium-full lenght game  ;D
#369
so you can change the hint type like i said.
#370
really cool!  :D Thanks!
#371
i designed the gui, is something like this what i want but not green. Thanks!
#372
well, i don`t the have any artwork to add as a unlockable  ;D but, what kind of content may i put to unlock?
#373
i will add to my game a button in the lower GUI with a ? button, in the options menu you can change the Hint levels, as little, medium or full hint, so when you put at little, it will say like; "This door seems not to open from this side...", in medium (default); "This door have to be open in the other side, there isn`t another way." in Full; "Try to find another way to get into the room, the door is useless in this side."

Hi everyone, i need help with creating a cursor, a interact one, i`m making a brand new GUI to my game, with in my opinion is better than the other i made first.
Here is the slot for the cursor button:

*UPDATED*
The new GUI Options, i think i will pu them all in the game and let the player choose, if someone has any ideia on how to do it, tell me! I think i will use int`s.

an there is the new GUI, the top and bottom (still in creation) one.

Top:

bottom:

Thanks you comment, sai what you need to say, comment and all the things

OBS: The Backgrounds of my game where made in 200 x 320, but there was no espace for the GUI`s, so i added a black tire in the bottom and top sides of the bk to the GUI`s, if you think the buttons are small, do you think i should put all on top an re-organizate it? Just for explanation, the bottom GUI will have the room name and information, but will be only avaliable when you find the Mansion Map  ;) I will add some stylish functions to it, like hints button with options to select the topic of your obstacle, you can give me suggestions too! Thanks!!

It`s pretty good :D but i didn`t liked much the cauldron light... I think it`s look more smoke, if you make it parallel would look better. In my opinion it look like a hand light form, a more smooth one is what i recommend.
You don`t need to give much attention to me, i just think it`s strange.

Oh... So, you can put it on a locked chest, and with the help of a hair clip minigame, you can unlock it, and then use it on the puzzle in the future. Why not pick the puzzle solution before the puzzle? I think its one of the adventure game fundaments, well, almost it.
#378
i think it`s almost good, just the shovel look a little buged for me, you should make more frames (2 or 3) between the ground contact and the throwing earth away frames, will look more smooth.
#379
hey, why dont you put into a locked thing? And then find a key in the puzzle room? 2 puzzles in 1!

Ok, let`s wait  :) the demo will come sooooon... well, almost sooooon.
