yep yep yep... i'm doing all that now... I'm gonna redo the whole image from scratch with b/w in mind, because the one i posted was originaly colour.

Might not be for a while because my A Level exams have just started - they finish in a bout a month...  :-[ :-\

I don't like the way that the italian job was re-raleased and the suposed re-release of the great escape from america and the old war movies ie battle of britain i think it was where they make the american the hero when they were nothing to do with it

Exactly - this backs up my argument of globalisation == Americanisation.
Why is the only city anyone cares about new-bloody-york ? Example -
A film is made ("day after tomorrow") where the polar caps melt or something and the world freezes over - where is the most dramaticaly hurt place? where is the film based? New York.

Thank you Hollywood ::)

I only had this bg and one other - but now i am going to redraw them to fit a gui on... they didn't resize well... I am going to spend a lot more time on them too.... Can anyone please tell me if there is a quick, simple way to make the scenes speia like there is to make them b/w?

I can't remember his name.. the fat guy with the badass gun...
...vulcan raven?
Will he be in it?

The room bg = cool A little explaination about this tree pole would probably make it better - i don't get what it is.
The second bg also has that weird green moon thingy??
I like the first bg, but i don't understand the second - where would you walk/interact? Where does the bottom of the red brick building go?

Maybe i'm just missing something at the mo...
But i like the first one and the character is very nice. :D

Damn my ignorance! I can't understand half this thread - so I wont have much chance at the game

What you really need is to move all of the character rather than just his arms and legs - his shoulders - his hair - give him a 1 pixel bobbing up and down as he walks - and move his arms on the side view...
...It's a nice char.  ;) :D

The image was originaly colour - but it wasn't too good so i converted it into a grayscale thingy - is there anyway i can change it to look sepia/bronze/yellow without repainting it colour by colour? Keep in mind i don't have photoshop - i use gimp.
It IS an outhouse - but i can't get it to look correct - plus when i changed it from colour to this I lost a lot of shading and now the building looks real flat.
P.S Daz... who cares man, you can do a western and it'll probably beat mine - i tend to drift from project to project - but i'm gonna try and finish this one - i don't care and neither should anyone else 8)

I was planning on spending a lot of time on getting good dialog. Do you think it would be a bad idea to have the game b/w? I wanted to emphasise the western movies thing. The gui that'll be at the bottom will be colour - minimi's woodgui template! Any ideas on how to improve the bg?
P.S thanks for the forum codes.  ;D

I think this whole thread/argument is not Americans being ignorant of language, but the world being ignorant of America. Not everyone born in the U.S of A is an idiot you know.
America hauls with it some big ass industries and therefore ideals such as globalisation essentialy now mean Americanisation... this is a shame but I feel recently there's been an increase in yank bashing and I don't get it.

P.S I'm not American (just so you know) :D

I have a cowboy character i made - he's supposed to be young and naive - i pretty much want him the same character that guybrush is right at the start of mi1 - YES HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLACK/W
Please c&c me - ps i know about the white pixels on his hat - i couldn't be bothered to change them before i posted.

I also have a background

If someone tells me the code for resizing the image I'll edit the large b/g - there is a code right?

Anyway - tear me to pieces....

Dang this is a helpfull, friendly community. Thank you.
(Off Topic: I plan to resize my bg's for your gui - i have o ;))

look on igor's post:
The first image - both the guy's feet do not touch the floor, if you are walking you always have at least one foot on the floor - if your character's feet both come off the ground it looks like he is skipping

Now all i gotta do ius resize my b.g's  ... damn - one more thing... how do i change the credits to tell people info on the game ( don't worry - you'll still be on there!)
I'm guessing it'll be some kinda script - i'm pretty new at scripting... very new actually!

errmmm... he has no face dude. ??? 8)
I like the style though - what did you use to make it?

I think the pic's amazing and you should thank your brilliant artist very much - especially since he used paint!!
Only a few things - there's some white pixels at the base of the challace cup thingy and the leg that goes behind the other is missing a foot - i think that's all for now ;D ;D
