Yes, you are right. But thats an old demo. It only has a few rooms, you can control Marge, Homer and Lisa, and it doesn't have as much as the new demo that I am about to release.

If anyone would like to offer me some webspace to upload a site with updates and a demo, I may get it out sooner.

Yeah, I just checked them out. I will update a site with some progress once I get the demo done.

Yeah, sorry. Its becouse free web hosts dont work very well. I have updated the game a lot more as you have noticed from previous posts, but still no plot has been programmed in.

What I might do is release the next demo with the current features updates, and then I might create a small Simpsons Mini game ala style of Maniac Mansion, where you have to solve puzzles within the house. Then in 2004 (hopefully) I will release the full game.

Thanks for your patience and your interest in this game.

Development will be slower than usual becouse I am also helping with the Demo Quest II project, so it might be a few weeks before I release the new demo, then a few months before I release the Mini game.

Hey Jannar, whats your email, I will email Scumm16 for windows and its source to you. It does exist. You can also download it from here if you would like: http://scumm.mixnmojo.com/download.php

but for some reason, its not loading now the site. But if it ever comes back, It will be there. For now though, give me your email, or some place to upload it to and I will allow you to chech it out. Thanks.

Joey

EDIT: You can download it from here, you may need allegro and some C++ compiler like DJGPP in order to compile the source:   http://www.geocities.com/jdiperla12/index.htm

Yeah I posted there once, noone helped. They didn't find a solution, so since this is a bigger community and one familiar with LEC I thought I would ask here.

I was wondering if anyone could compile scumm16 for windows to actually work cause I think that would allow me to view Zak256 files.

I tried ripping the graphics especially the backgrounds using Scumm16 for windows and Dos. The dos versions dont do it, and the windows versions cant either becouse it crashes. I used Scumm Rev 2 and 3 but I cant get neither of them to display the graphics appropriately. Can anyone help me out here?

I think I might join this one. I always wanted to make a game starring me. Although it would be short and take place in my own house.

It will have realistic photo's as graphics. Sort of how toonstruck was, just more so.

NO RedruM you dont sound rude. Yes you are right, I should read the manual. Only problem though is, I did read the manual, OVer and over and over etc... I have been experienced with AGS for a long time, but even programmers with long programming experiences have trouble with the simplest things. Your right that a manual does exist, but it is large, thus some words and topics slip from right under my eye. Even the more simpler things. So I do ask for your patience (Sorry if I upset you) on this. Thanks ;)

But thank you so so so so so so so so so so much for posting your solution. I appreciate it. I will try and be more careful for further times. I will use Normal mode then in my games. Thanks. :)

Hey Chris, I dont know if this is a bug or a feature that needs to be implemented, but hopefully its a bug, as you have already asked us not to post suggestions during beta releases.

My bug/suggestion is that when ever you do a right click and you try and display lets say a GUI, everything in the game stops. Only the GUI works. Is there anyway you can fix it or atleast give an option that if the GUI is turned on during gameplay, that it wont stop the gameplay?

Is there a code workaround to this?

Hey Chris, most people will use a 16 bit editing program to make their bitmaps. I would be afraid of people making AGS 32 bit and leaving that option. Would it be possible to detect if any of the image files are actually 32 bit? If there not, then the engine could convert the game back into 16 bit.

If you goto www.cprogramming.com and look at the boards under game development, they will tell you how to make Allegro work faster with 32 bit graphics. Or maybe you could use the SDL Library for use with AGS just for 32 bit graphics cause I think its faster.

Just my two blue cups.

Homer: Whew, all this work is making me thirsty, I think I'll order a Tab.

***Presses the Tab Key***

And lets not forget the line in my signature:

Bart and Lisa want their allowance, so they go:

Bart and Lisa: Ding ding ding ding...
***Homer runs downstairs and out the door screaming:

Homer: Ooh, Icecream truck, Icecream truck!!!

Yes, I also forgot to mention Garfield. I am so waiting for that game to be released.

Add:

Garfield: Attack of the mutant lasagna.

The inventory window is transparent. I realised this when making a sam n max GUI. I needed a inventory background. SO what I did was change the background graphics of the gui, and it displayed through the inventory window.

Ok, thanks CJ and RickJ. BTW: I just wanted to add that RickJ will be co-coordinator on this with me. He seems very talented and skilled and he also seems like a good team leader and coordinator. So I am glad to have him help me in this.

I had encountered an issue though... In the old demo quest, we had some stuff that used the animation editor. Should we redo that stuff scripted, and should we seperate the Demo Quest into seperate adventures for easier understanding of the source code?
