What a charming experience! Great art and beautiful writing. It's nice that the story goes back to the last choice after you die, this way I can just enjoy the writing without the tedious clicking or saving/loading all the time. Or even pick an obviously wrong choice just to see what the text is, knowing I can just pick the other option right after. Very well done!

Congrats on the release, CD!

I know it's been mainly on me that it was delayed for so long, but I hope that the little bit of extra graphics will be an added value :)

Hi Icey,

I know you said in the past that you're used to AGS so apologies if this is not useful, but have you considered Ren'Py? It's a visual novel-dedicated engine that's super easy to use. And 100% free even for commercial projects, just like AGS.

If you're dead set on using AGS then I'll leave the stage to smarter people to advise.

Can never have too many horror games, and this one looks outstanding! Best of luck with the development :)

Looks fantastic, that's a sweet choice of colors.

Best of luck with the project, can't wait to see how the story develops!

Wow. This looks outstanding, Mati! I'm a sucker for hand crafted and painted models.

The plushie looks lovely too, Blondbraid. I tried sewing one myself several years back and I still remember how much harder it is to make it look right than it might seem.
Good luck, do share the final result :)

I'm not a professional designer/developer and therefore my skills are limited.
Honestly, I would have thought you are. To my untrained eye at least, this doesn't look any less professional than what commercial engines use for their websites.

A really nice set of entries this month!

Dirandious Kroken
Spoiler

Short and funny, I admire how you managed to somehow create a puzzle out of a recipe (laugh) The ending was hilarious. Also, definitely the most clear, strong and straightforward interpretation of the theme.

Breakfast on Trappist-1
Spoiler

I absolutely LOVED the rich backstory and how you used the features of the real Trappist-1F, like the tidal lock or the size of the habitable zone, in your worldbuilding. The interpretation of the theme is very subtle, but extensive: children growing to be natural dwellers of the planet in contrary to their immigrant parents, other colonies growing faster than the archaic T1F, the first settlement having slowly developed into an industrial centre and so on. The aspect would probably be much better visible if the game was longer and more span-out over time, but it's visible enough (side note, Zheny "growing out of her nostalgia" was probably the weakest (in the context of the MAGS theme) of all the "growing" in the game ;) ). Lorenzo's beautiful, limited colour palette art fit the game perfectly.

Fhaloness
Spoiler

A quite unique take at a fantasy world, it felt like a wood elves meet Jedi thing. Very interesting! The plot pace and puzzles felt a little bit rushed, but it's MAGS and you can only do so much within a month's time. Do you plan to continue working on the game? It looks like a promising prelude to something that might as well turn into a memorable title.

I haven't voted yet, still undecided. Will edit the post later... Well done everyone, nice turnout!

I swear I wasn't throwing shade at you :-[
It never crossed my mind :)

Seriously though, I remember some of the commercial AGS games I've played had several proofreaders per language. I don't suppose they would be wasting their budget so there must be a value in this.

Dear AGS Awards fans,

We may have just wrapped up this year's ceremony, but there is already plenty of amazing submissions for this year to play.
Why not start early this time?

Below is the link to the 2021 version of the games list. Feel free to make your own copy. I will be updating the list as new games are released and as I play them, updates in this thread are welcome too.
I personally like making notes of what part of the game impressed me the most so I don't forget to nominate it accordingly when the nomination phase opens next time. Otherwise it's easy to miss, especially if the game was released early in the year.

Happy playing!

It's always useful to have more than one proofreader :)

Congratulations! Looking forward to the final release :)

Holy cow. Either we find an alternative or we'll need another bake sale.

What are other requirements, apart from private projects? Is Git support mandatory?

Ah, ok. I didn't know what to do after the speech. I assumed that I just had to take the award and that would lead to leaving the stage!  :-D
That's a point'n'click style of thinking if I ever saw one! :D
#258
No problem Monkey, sorry that the time slot we picked made it difficult for you to join! Congrats on winning an award, though I'm  not sure if you can get Ponch to hand it over  :sealed: He seems to like trophies.
