Perhaps... we might have something, but it's uncertain whether or not we will manage to deliver even with the extension.
I'll try to confirm ASAP.

Congratulations on your Lifetime Achievement, by the way!

Edit: Ours is unlikely to be finished today, too much going on. We could try with an extension if any was given but as we both agreed that we would finish the game no matter within or outside of the competition, any decision will be fine :)

I've uploaded a recording of the awards ceremony.
Awesome, thanks Gurok! Ironically, I got DC'd just the moment the laser show started so I missed all the chat. Now I can catch up! :)

Congratulations to all the winners, amazing games and a really fun event this year. We had an impressive turnout and a great audience, which really makes every moment spent on developing the client worthwhile.
Here is a link to the full size trophy pack if anyone wants to use them for a signature or whatever other purpose:

And for the group hug picture that closed the ceremony, if someone wants to be added there feel free to make a post in this group hug thread:

The only condition is having a working avatar image.

Also, it's a shame for me that I (involuntarily) missed my opportunity to do the speech for The Rat Pack on CaptainD's behalf, so let me just quickly deliver it now: CaptainD is the author of a stunning amount of three nominations in the same category (!), which is why I'm incredibly happy that one of them has won. A non-adventure game made with AGS is always an impressive feat so I'm hoping to see more of them in the future, CD!

Yay Snarky and Wyz!
Edit: And vga256 & sonneveld, of course! Sorry I missed you.

I'm not a Mac user, but it's great that you made it happen for the people who are.

The theme is fun and I'd love to join but I won't have enough time to put a game together this month.

Though if someone's thinking of submitting a short entry and could use a little help with sprites and backgrounds to meet the deadline, let me know.

Congratulations Blondbraid and Cassie for winning! But also big congrats to Durq and VampireWombat but being such a close runner up.
Great effort everyone.

Men get more abuse due to the fact that there are more men in gaming circles, but the women who are in those spaces get far more abuse than their male peers and get horrific threats of sexual violence and sexist slurs on top of the same death threats and nazi-accusations men get, Snarky already pointed that out and he's actually working as a moderator.
Very true, at least as far as online gaming goes. It is not uncommon for female gamers to refrain from using voice chat and to quietly pretend they are just another male behind the keyboard to avoid abuse. Females who do decide to reveal their gender expose themselves to a wide variety of harassment ranging from unwanted advances through being singled out, criticized and mocked for every mistake much more than any male player would be, to openly hateful "I'll drive you out of here" campaigns from insecure alpha wannabes who just can't stand being outperformed by a female in a computer game. I've seen guilds/clans boasting about themselves not allowing females into their ranks, which in their understanding was a mark of a professional group.

Sure that online gaming communities aren't exactly courteous, but the juvenile name calling casually flying back and forth during online gaming sessions does not compare to the targeted, constant abuse female gamers are commonly up against. And sure, targeted abuse towards male players also happens but for female players, more often than not it comes in a bundle.

I have made a couple last minute changes to my preliminary votes. As it turned out, completing two final games did make a difference!

Very short and simple, but I enjoyed it. The voice acting definitely adds flavour to the game!
Nice effort, Durq & VW.

Hah! I think I can see what you mean :) The character's detailing is cute though, especially the facial expression.
Still, that lo-res alien wins ^^

Kastchey: 640x480 was fun and i really liked having more room for details- but I think it doesn't lend itself too well to "manual animation". I never got it to look right. Still a sweet spot between low and high res I think. I'll dig out some screenshots from the old build. It was so garish it makes me smile :D
You do that, I'd love to see it :) I vaguely remember your previous WiP thread but it was quite a while ago....

Welcome back Ghost! The alien creature looks super awesome.

Side note, I had a similar train of thought regarding going 640x480 a while back.

I don't think you necessarily *have to* do the thing all by yourself next time, DBoy. If you're worried that your potential team member might be disappointed, it should be fine just to ask them in advance if they'd be ok with you dropping out in case you couldn't finish.

30 days is a demanding deadline, it's not uncommon that people give up on their MAGS attempts.

Congratulations Cassie & Morgan!
#476
Thank you cat for presenting the results so quickly, and thanks to everyone who has participated in the nomination phase. Congratulations to all the nominees!

And as a souvenir of my gameplaying spree I am also trying to rate and comment as many of the games I've just played as I can :)
#477
Same here, I have added several more titles to my nomination lists. Thank you!
#478
Yes, it would certainly make the nomination lists less overwhelming.
#479
Oh, okay. Good to know!

And on the topic of non-adventure games, we seem to have quite a number of these this year so there should be plenty to choose from...
Here are some I know of in case it helps anyone:

BlindSweeper
Cedric Shooter
Finger of Suspicion
Fists of Murder
Forms
Horse Park
Lab Rat Maze!
Private Detective
Racist
Rat Playing Game
S.A.M.
Sims Hogwarts
Space Tunneler Deluxe
Strawman Bombing Disposal
The Rat Pack

Edit: Added some more I've found.

Lamplight City is a demo too, isn't it?
(I mean it's full as a commercial game, but the demo is in the DB)

Edit: Hm doesn't seem so, the DB says "Download Demo of Lamplight City" but the link seems to be pointing to the full game purchase.
