I uh.. don't mean to start any fires here or become one of the Official Icey Bashers, but it bothers me a bit. Is a 15 seconds long cutscene really enough to win MAGS, even by default? I downloaded it from Icey's profile since the link he provided here is indeed broken, but the proper archive contained some open source material sewed together into a short dialogue cutscene, and that's it. Unless Icey had confused zip archives and posted an early version by mistake, his entry wasn't even a game and made a textbook example of breaking the "no rushed entries" rule.

Thanks for participating, everyone.

Does anyone need an extension? Dualnames?

I couldn't guess it because it's been ages since the last time I've played this game, but I just KNEW I've seen this red demon thing somewhere. So I guess the demake did the job.

By the way, are you focusing on sprites only or planning to make tiles resemble the walls from the original FPP as well? Background elements like vines, ponds and pillars added a lot to the atmosphere of the game as far as I remember.

First entry, great!

Also, updated the main thread with trophies.

Can't say I'm surprised that this kind of topic has caught your interest, Dual :)
Thanks and good luck with your entry!

If my memory doesn't fail me...
Spoiler
Keep choosing the most absurd answers while talking with your brother. Then leave the room, go to the cemetery, go back to your room and look for a hidden item under the desk. Eat it and then play the game normally through to the end. This should get you the joke ending.

Create a background for a game that takes place in an extraterrestrial world. Include at least one distinctive feature to convince the viewer that this place is not Earth. It can be anything: fauna, flora, terrain formations, weather conditions, architecture or even different laws of physics if you can find a way to depict them.

Examples, references, inspirations:

Thanks oraxon, and thank you guys for all the nice comments :)

I'll come up with a new theme soon.
#795
I originally intended to picture a hidden staircase behind a garden statue, but it turned out barely visible, so I hope that the hole in the wall with the rusty gate can work as a secret passage and fit the theme :)

Loled at both entries, brilliant  ;D
Intense Degree, there's nothing wrong with your theme, it's actually pretty cool. It just seems it's a busy period for everyone, BG Blitz and MAGS don't get many entries either.

And here's my quick entry: Succubus leader vs. incubus leader, a.k.a. Hell meets gender wars.

AGS Games in Production / Re: Armageddon

I see no reason to bash your graphics, the screenshots look clean and kind of charming in their simplicity.
Will there be an English version?

QuoteDo I think rpgmaker is a perfect engine?  No.  But there are scripts out there that are freely available to turn ANY version of rpgmaker into side battles, time-based battles, chrono trigger battles, Secret of Mana battles, and so on.  The scripts are out there, demo'd on youtube and waiting for you to make something with them.
This, this and again this.

I used to be a major jRPG fan something like 15 years ago. I've spent hours over RPGMaker2k and even though it was really limited compared to the newest versions of the engine, I was still able to script a Chrono Cross style menu and a turn based battle which looked nothing like the default combat system. And I had a lot of fun doing so despite being a total scripting dummy.

Add the ready-to-use scripts and modules, vast selection of tutorials and resources and a community (yes, AGS is not the only engine with a community and forums) that's actually interested in the type of games you want to make, and you'll have the PERFECT environment for making your dream game. And if you actually make use of all those ready-to-use resources, you might even save yourself enough time to think about game mechanics and storyline, something that's dramatically lacking in all your game attempts. Read this whole topic again and what people keep pointing out, they are doing their best to help you, not to turn you down.

It's three days past deadline, so I declare Intense Degree the winner! Good sir, Dracula the Vampire Lord has found your selected bride candidates irresistible and welcomes them into his castle with open wings, as well as their kids and deceased dogs (though he would kindly ask Chantelle's ex to keep out).
Your careful pick and your kind concern about Dracula's reputation has won you this:

And here is Dracula's reply to his new bride-to-be:

Dear Chantelle,

I impatiently await your arrival.

My castle is vast, sinister and medieval style, unlike that pussy romanticism architecture you expressed your dislike for. I'm sure you will all love it. As for the kids, do not worry about them, there's plenty of pits, loose trap doors and endless maze corridors in the castle that should be enough to deal with them I think. The rash will go off as soon as you awaken as an undead, hmm, I did not mention this part in the ad did I? Oh well, nevermind it for now, I shall explain everything to the three of you as soon as you get here. And yes, I am rich. REALLY rich.

Signed,
Vlad Dracula, Lord of Vampires (full-scale once you get there!)

If someone has a late entry to post, go ahead! There are still two trophies to claim :)
