Quote from: cat on Tue 05/03/2024 19:52:27@Kastchey I need a hint
Spoiler
I have the needle, gold teeth and the broken instruments. The sheep is dead, the rock is hot, the fox is in its hole and the pig is wearing my garter

Have you

examined the golden teeth? Just by right clicking.

Or, more literally, a game where the land is split in half by a huge chasm, and you need to either get across to explore the other side, or down the chasm to find something.

Quote from: RootBound on Tue 05/03/2024 13:51:49... I really shouldn't start another game right now but maybe I can keep it small for once.  :-D
"I really shouldn't start another game right now" is something I should probably make a sticky note of and plaster it somewhere where I can see it ;)

Please tell Brian that I applaud his artistic vision immensely.

Also, that was the most hilarious thing I've played in a while.

If that number is 6 enter the kitchen and you can find a new item I added as a way out to skip the puzzle but also it's not like the "ending" is that great, either, but I suppose it does technically exist.  Anyway, if your number isn't 6 then advance it with the +/- keys to 6 then re-enter the kitchen. Then you'll find a new item which finishes the puzzle for you.  Re-enter the kitchen after that (counter==7) and you can talk to Dracula one last time to finish.

The item being the gravy boat? I found it (thought this was one of the ingredients), but the game state is still 6. I think I've visited all the rooms at least twice since then. But that probably doesn't matter :) I've advanced the counter and finished the game. Lovely backgrounds by the way, and I loved the joke of the "back in time" cellar being drawn in an even more retro style!

Quote from: jwalt on Sat 02/03/2024 11:44:20With some difficult puzzles, apparently. At least as far as I'm concerned. Currently stalled out on each of the entries I've tried, excluding mine. May need some lifelines, aka hints. ;)
I've managed to beat all of them except Dracula, if you still need some help?

@newwaveburritos , I'm not sure if I'm missing something or ran into one of the gamebreaking bugs you anticipated :) Here's where I am:
Spoiler
I found the cooking book (the book title cracked me up, btw =]) and some ingredients, but for each recipe there's at least one that I'm missing. The Woman says I should help myself to the herbs, but I can't seem to find any that I could click. I'm also unsure how to start cooking,

Quote from: Rik_Vargard on Thu 29/02/2024 17:13:04Hey I was wondering if you had some kind of intro logo movie or so for the ceremony?
I was starting working on one but then I thought that perhaps you already had something?

Just in case: I thought about doing a montage starting with "AGS AWARDS 2023" and then "THIS YEAR'S NOMINEES", with pictures showing up of all the nominated games.

Well, I can help with anything video if needed. (nod)

Cheers!

I'll send you a PM  :)

Use It All (Or Forget Your Ball)

Based on "The Golden Ball" scenario by The Great Underground Empire and heltenjon.

Download here

Untested.
There will be missing interactions.
Some items only work one way for now.
Music on/off doesn't work.
Help button doesn't work.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: Replaced the original link with v1.1 that removes a game breaking bug.

I should be able to upload a rough version in a few hours, is that ok?
#90
Sorry to hear that, Ponch :<

I'm still quite a leap from finishing mine, but it still seems possible.
#91
My game is *almost* playable, but needs a lot more polish. I hope to be able to finish the bare minimum before the end of the day tomorrow, though.
#92
Congratulations, cat! Loved all the entries this month. I'll post more detailed comments when I get a bit of time.
#93
We are now looking for presenters, streamer(s) and someone to record the ceremony.

If you plan to attend the ceremony and feel like helping out, please send me a PM!

Critics' Lounge / Re: My first walk cycle
Mon 19/02/2024 17:18:30
I do see those tiny glitches when I pay attention, but honestly, this looks better than many walk cycles I've seen in completed games and I doubt anyone would notice while playing. The character clearly has a personality already, great job!

Quote from: cat on Mon 19/02/2024 12:24:19This is beautiful, @Kastchey ! I love the colors. I hope you are really making a game and this is not just a nice mock-up for fun.
Thank you cat! :) And no, for real. No guarantees because life is life, but it's a screenshot from an actual game, not a mockup.

Quote from: heltenjon on Wed 14/02/2024 14:12:47It just struck me that the stuff we make over in the Puzzle Making Practice contest thread could fit well in this month's MAGS, too. So, if there is someone reading this who wants to make a MAGS entry but lacks an idea, feel free to steal my setup and puzzles.  ;)
Thought I might as well... ;)

That's a really cool (and useful!) thread.

Trapped on the Balcony is one huge streak of enjoyable puzzles, but I particularly liked
Spoiler
the one where you forge the third token using the fresh cement on the roof. It felt like the several elements of this puzzle had to be sourced from all over the game, which was really cool.

Thanks, cat!

Everyone, in case you miss that in the doodle description: the ceremony will happen at 20:00 GMT.
The date will be decided through the poll cat linked above.

Dear nominees, I will soon send each of you a message summarizing everything that might be useful to know about the voting phase and the ceremony.

Keep an eye out for PMs! ;)
