A rain of bugs, I see. Thanks ArjOn, I'll look into it :)

Spoiler
So you're only left with the final item to find now.
[close]
Hint 1:
Spoiler
I suppose you can guess from Sylda's hints which item you're lacking - the one with a multitude of colors. Have you seen something like that somewhere in the castle?
[close]

Hint 2:
Spoiler
There is a large machine with many buttons in the study room that hasn't been used yet. There's also a lever on the right side of the machine.
[close]

Hint 3:
Spoiler
Take a careful look at the position of the window in the study, especially as compared to the position of other object, or other windows, in the palace.
[close]

Solution:
Spoiler
Make sure you unfreeze the window in the study and open it. Then operate the machine (push the correct buttons) to set it on high pressure and siphon up. Then push the lever (it's on the right side of the machine).

Spoiler
So two more items for you to go. They are there somewhere =) I was a bit worried about the non-intuitiveness of some puzzles from the start, so don't hesitate to post again if you get stuck.

At abstauber,
Spoiler
That's because you need to show them to the other iceling, Sylda. The one on the right. She's sitting in the bushes on the right and that makes her barely visible, I know :)

At, Dualnames,
Thank you, Mister. Ii's indeed a shame that there was no other entry for such an awesome theme, but like SomeSickSelf said earlier, it's just a busy month.

At ProgZmax again,
I found out that I did block it, but later I added a few pixels to the hotspot to make it easier to walk on, et voila.
#825
Whoops, I was pretty sure I blocked this one too. Thanks for letting me know ProgZ, I'll have it fixed asap. Hope that's the only one I missed, this sort of issue can be really annoying during play.

At Crimson Wizard, I haven't played that game, but I definitely remember this screenshot, so I can't really say for sure that the idea hasn't got into my mind :) Especially their hairdos look similar. Still, this is sort of a typical image of an 'evil queen' or 'evil sorceress' as pictured in fairy tale books, at least those I've been reading as a kid.

At the other guys, happy to hear you like the graphics :)
The game itself might be a bit lame, cause like I said, it was my first try and I was short on time, too. But I hope you can still enjoy it!

Thanks for all the comments!
#826
And finally, here it is. It turned out I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for the two days extension, thanks Dualnames :)

This was my first time with AGS and I had to learn it from the basics, so be gentle to the virgin ;D

Snow Queen: After The Apocalypse

After being outwitted by two little children, the Snow Queen finally gave up her abduction attempts and turned her attention to teh serious stuff - she used her powers to bring the apocalypse upon the world of humans. She herself has reigned her new domain of ice and snow in the safety of her flying ice palace. All until the day when something threatened her control over the realm...

Edit: Download link updated, bug with left/right wing entrance fixed.

Made using abstauber's 9VMI template. Thanks!

If you say so. I can't be back home before 26th late afternoon, so I would appreciate a day extra if you don't mind, boss. In fact, this one day might be crucial for me.

Anyone else still working on an entry?
#828
Doing my best to send in my nearly finished entry before the deadline, though it depends how tolerant my family's gonna be towards me working to finish my game during Christmas holiday... 26th is a really ugly day for a deadline, especially for people whose families are much into tradition.
But at least I'm gonna try.

Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate Christmas, and merry end of December to all those who don't :)

I don't know what style you're aiming for, but unless it's gonna be a painting-like portrait, you could try making an outline using Pen tool to add some shape to your picture. It would make it more cartoon style so again, I don't know if that's what you want, but might be worth trying.
Here's a sample:

This way it's relatively easy to add shading and details after you fill your outline with basic colors.

Hints & Tips / Re: Aeronuts

Agreed, it's not a pixel hunt, it's more like a blind shot. If you happen to right-click the correct area, you're done. If not, you might not even realize there's something to click at. I had problems with that one too.
C'mon abstauber, rename this goddamn hotspot somehow!   ;)

Yes. My inferior brain doesn't handle intellectually challenging experiences well. I still enjoy the game though :)

Quote* classic LEC-style GUI and still no push'n pull puzzles
Yay!
Quote* GIRL POWER!
Double yay!

And the main character adds much to the game, I mean:
Spoiler
a girl who'd carry around a dead squirrel in a plastic bag or mix her mascara with water and be all happy and proud of herself... I love this gal  ;D

Maybe you could try making your mountains more jagged and solid? They look more like piles of sand right now.

And Lad, you are obviously right about pixel art, but this 'pure pixel' technique is not really common among indie games makers. Probably because backgrounds in many early 90s games were painted and then scanned pictures, and people here often attempt to mimic this style using filters. So I believe that when somebody refers to 'pixel art' here in this forum, it will be pixels+filters in most cases, especially when talking about backgrounds.

Quotei really dont think these rules are concrete ... maybe i did use a little too much blending but i was only trying to follow this tutorial by an outstanding pixel artist:
http://www.barnettcollege.com/tutorial1.htm
Perhaps the outstanding pixel artist who also happens to be a member of this forum would care to help? :)

By the way, your ending no. 2 sounds much like this type of bonus (usually joke) ending triggered by a special course of actions during the game. For example, if the player tries to make Eric drink ALL the alcohol that appears throughout the game (glass of wine in somebody's appartment, whiskey bottles on display, a nearly empty beer can near a bus stop etc., they will get ending no. 2 instead of the default one.
