I've only taken a look at the manual yet :)
So you put quite some effort in the manual instead of just dropping some lines into a readme textfile, but actually managed to provide it with your hp's ugly background pattern...
What about people who like to print out their manuals? Especially when considering the prices of printer cartridges...

AGS Games in Production / Re: LAPD

One word of advice:
DON'T capture Police Quest's atmosphere!
These games aren't adventures but boring everyday cop life-sims, and they weren't good in their time nor in any time else.
If you need inspiration, play Pleurghburg, if you didn't already.
While I'm at it: Myst is no adventure, too.
Btw: Myst is pronounced exactly like the german word >Mist<, which means cattle poo. Just a coincidence?Ã,  ;)

Ok, ignore the bit about Myst and good luck with finishing your game!

I found two bugs so far, aside from spelling mistakes.

Spoiler
The chalk can be found in the plant more than once.
Poisoning the dog doesn't change the look at message.

me too,

black font with black outline...like reading white chalk on paper.

Please correct that, Vel

Just an idea about illuminating random windows: use a big yellow airbrush and spray a small area, cut out a rectangle and size it up to say 5 times the width and 10 times the height, clear the white areas, cover it with a dark grid and put a dark rect behind it.

About your pic: I'd say shade the buildings and make them a little 3d.
Also paint many stars at moon level and lesser further down, due to smog one can only see about a tenth of the actual stars when standing in a big city like ny.

hope it helps

I was talking of the yellow pattern on the carpet.

Please excuse the really badly drawn lines, but I was to lazy to get rid of the line tool's arrowÃ,  :P
I hope you get the idea, though

Chris

EDIT: and your books look like cheese balls :)

Quote from: Mr_FrisbyKhrismucÃ,  - You can't play the game until youv'e put batteries in the radio!
But how?
Spoiler

I had listened to the radio, encountered the pelican, talked with the dead bird, got the letter, yet I cant play that arcade game...

Ah got it now, seems that there's no text displaying when the cursor was over it.

I did all that, too...

Maybe I haven't tried clicking on the plug. (Hope you are referring to that by "it")

I'd go for Mr_frisby's idea.

It wasn't until now that I realised your avatar is flying...
To me it looked like a monkey (thought the feet were ears) that had a towel through the head coming out his earholes :P
Like Lloyd Bridges in Hot Shots... ;D

I'm stuck

Spoiler
How to plug in the arcade game? The big cord has no hotspot, or I didn't find it. Or am I missing something?

I do prefer zip-files, too.

As far as I know, the installer doesn't write stuff in the registry, but the startmenu-dir and additional entry in the software add/remove list just suck.

MrMasse:

The main problem about travelling to the past is the resulting paradoxon.
I didn't understand your paragraph about the first president's name, too, but remember this: Your agent could accidentially kill somebody in the past (e.g. the mother of the Agency's founder before he is born) thus preventing the Agency from existing. So the agent might still exist in the present, but he didn't travel back to the past because now he is a mailman. BUT, 'now' he didn't kill the mother, and so on forever and ever, resulting the universe to collapse.

The multi-dimension idea is nice, but what is the point in changing the future of another dimension? The Agency wouldn't even notice it.

The tv-series 7 days uses a good concept by limiting the time-travelling to seven days to the past.

Although it violates every 'rule' of time, I recommend watching the movie Frequency with Dennis Quaid and Jim Cavizel, which is a great and entertaining thriller IMO.

Four little issues that bother me:

1. The perspective of the fridge & shelves is still wrong, parallel lines meet each other at infinity, not in the middle of the room as in your pic. Right now, the top of the bookshelf looks very angled, Murray would probably slide down.(Check the Bryce pic for reference.)

2. The carpet in the middle looks nice, but the yellow lines don't go through the center, which is probably, what you intended.

3. The power outlets are mounted to a grass wall...
Maybe you did that on purpose, but you could place a generator outside the hut and connect the fridge to it. (And even add a generator puzzle, if you want.)

4. The Tiki-lamps are floating in mid-air, tie them to some wooden beams.

Great game, just finished it.

Two things, though.
I, too, had problems with the character switching.
Spoiler
After visiting the bedroom with Tif and switching to Tim, he appeared in the middle of the back wall and was very small. (I think because I left him in front of the mansion.)
After that, everytime the two kids were in different rooms and I switched, the room didn't change but instead the other character appeared at the bottom center of the current room.

The second thing is the dead end(?)
Spoiler
I haven't tried, but what if I hadn't sent Tif down to the croc but Tim without the acid in his inv? Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm tired now and too lazy to try.

Anyways, it was fun to play and the 'cool' animals like the player bird were greatÃ,  ;D

minor glitch:
Spoiler
you can get the hammer over and over again, probably 'cause the script only checks the inventory (actually a bug, because the barrel is said to be empty after picking up the hammer for the first time
