Great post ^_^

That's a shame, Snake :/ But you know, screw the deadline. Just set your own and use that to motivate yourself.

Okay people, one more week! The 30th is creeping up! I'm devoting almost all my time after work this week to finishing what I can for the demo.

As far as I'm concerned, while Star Wars and Indiana Jones, etc are all up there, nothing gives me shivers the way the HHGTTG theme does. My hairs stand up on end when I hear that tune. I was so imressed with the way they mixed it for the movie (unfortunately, I was impfressed with little else but I won't get into that).

I don't really object to the act, if she really, really was okay with it. You probably know her well enough to know that. It's a little creepy, but if she was fine with it then whatever.

I just don't wanna hear about her `moistness`. That... this forum isn't dirty enough for me to be able to handle hearing about that here.

Commenting that out didn't make any difference (I -really- thought that could be it though, good idea!). The only thing that makes a difference still is taking out the condition of GlobalInt 11 from the line that deals with talking to another character.

When I do that, the character faces me, talks to me, but then doesn't turn back and face their original location. If I then walk away though, and and approach her from a different direction, she'll turn to face me again.

Sorry to drag this up again but I'm only just now re-tackling the problem. I can't remember at all what your post was in relation to SSh, sorry ^_^; I know we talked about it on IRC but...

Nobody with a dancing Hammer avatar could do evil, surely!

I'd find that one useful too. Good call.

That's the most disgusting thing I've read all day, congratulations :P

I mean, I would've done the same thing, but I wouldn't have told people here. I would've lied and said I made her act like a chicken or something.

Or maybe... that's what you meant anyway. ^_-

I do this to be kind, okay? I promise you if I didn't think the drawing was that great, I'd say, "Wow, pretty good!" and leave it at that. Because you obviously have talent, I want to encourage you to improve. :)

Like people have said, the feet aren't right. Firstly, they shouldn't be facing the same direction. Stand up, get comfortable, and look at your feet. Often drawing them at roughly a 40 degree angle to each other. In a 45 degree angle picture like that, I would leave the right foot and put the left foot in a direction more or less facing "us".

The feet aren't sitting right. They're tilted down too much. She's either standing tippy toes or her feet are flat, but what you have is a little inbetween. Try to make them flatter (ie. put the toes up)

The pants... obviously, they're supposed to be short. They don't have to be cutting off the circulation in her... *ahem*. Trust me, even on the tightest of jeans, there's a little 'give' between the legs so I'd suggest just putting a little er, bit of extra material in there. Also, the zip area should have a few wrinkles across it. A fat tummy will fill that part in nicely but she's got a pretty darn flat stomach so  it would look a little more natural if you made the material look a tad .. well, not looser, but it should at least have some "taught" lines.

This is something EVERYONE has trouble with at some point, it was always one of my biggest problems. The hand on the hip. It's tempting to draw it like that because we know it's curved but put your hand on your hip and you'll notice how unnatural it is to have the hand raised and curved like that. It's also hard to keep the pinky sticking out like that. The arm also looks rather unnatural. Take care with tapering the arm too much at the wrist, and where the wrist seemingly joins onto the hand. One of the best techniues I ever learned was not drawing the elbow like a straight corner. One side of the elbox is strait, the other side has more of a curve. Best to just look at other drawings to get a sense of how this works.

The left arm... the upper portion is too long. Compare the length from the shoulder to the elbow in both arms. It's extremely, EXTREMELY difficult to draw the arm/hand in that position. Again, my best advice is to straiht out copy professional pictures that use that pose to get a good sense for how to use it.

The face shape is okay. Obviously there's no rule on how the face shape should be, it depends on your style. For such a 'flat' shape like that though, the facial features shouldn't be quite so rounded. Notice how you can't make out the cheeks or shape of the nose? Even if you do't draw those things (I don't), it's good to organise the prominant facial features in such a way as we can see they fit in with the actual shape of the face. Try to keep the eyes level, for example, and the nose in the centre of the fae, and the mouth right (in the context of the character, obviously not physically on the picture).

The hat ... is perfect, really. You didn't fall into the trap of not giving it enough shape. It's very nice. I'm also most impressed with the legs. Fantastic shape! You put the navel in the right place, as well.

Another thing I would recommend you think of is making the pose a little more naural, or dynamic (either way). Those inbetween poses are so tempting and of course, are great when you're learning how to get the body shape right. For an actual picture though, it always ends up looking a tad awkward.

(I hate the G-string, but that's me. I don't find G-strings sticking out of pants attractive at all).

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot the mention, your colouring is great!

Don't forget Yahtzee with his Special Edition 5 Days a Stranger. I don't know if he made a -profit- as such but he got $5 from me at least.

Okay, I have a favour to ask of the musically talented out there.

I'm doing my game's music (Gift of Aldora) but the theme song was going to be composed by a good friend of mine because I can't manage orchestral things. Long story short, he can't do it and I need it by the end of the month. So, I'm forced to "let him go" (in a nice way) and hope that somebody here has an interest in composing a piece for me.

I've already made the melody and I know what I'm after so there isn't too much creative license here, I'm afraid. There's still a lot of room to put your own stamp on the music and make it how you think sounds best, but yeah... I just don't want any deviation from the tune I created because I have my little heart set on it.

The tune is here: http://kinoko.futariba.com/misc/gametheme.mp3

Basically, I need this to be somewhat epic, orchestral, and angelic. Think of classic angels, and please use trumpets/horns/that sort of thing.

I don't need this to be lengthened, (though a few seconds on the beginning or whatever won't kill me) and I want to keep roughly the same tempo. This music is times fairly well to match where it plays in the game so I can't have much deviation, if any.

Of course, you'll get ample credit in the game and my eternal gratitude. I can pay you a little if you'd like, but not much because I was originally getting this for free so I haven't budgetted for it. It's very important to realise I'm EXTREMELY fussy so even though it may well be the most beautiful piece of music ever, if it's not what I want, I won't use it. I want it to sound nice, but not TOO nice because it needs to fit in somewhat with the style of music I'm already using (see the first post in this thread for examples: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=15608.new#new).

The deadline is the 30th at the latest, so Im afraid you'd have to work fast too.

If anyone's up for the challenge, please PM me ^_^ THANKYOU!

Thank so much everyone! I appreciate your time to help me with this silly problem. I will listen to them all tomorrow now, because for now, it's late and I'm tired and sortof drunk.

EDIT: You guys rock, thanks so much! After much umming and ahhing, I've decided to go with your second one, Yakspit. If you don't mind me using it, that is. I still have to edit it and change it a bit, but if it's okay with you...

I'm trying to create a sound file of footsteps walking on grass/ground and I recorded this, and it's pretty damn perfect for what I want. The only problem is that I can't get rid of that "hum" in the background. I tried playing with the equalizer and stuff in Gold Wave but I really have NO idea how to manipulate sounds... does anyone know if/how I can get rid of it, so the atual "footsteps" are the -only- sound?

The file: http://kinoko.futariba.com/misc/walking2.wav

I have to go with #1 myself. The guy in the second animation is seriously gettin' down, baby. If he was MC Hammer, I'd say go for it. #3 looks good if the style you're going for is over-exagerrated Disney animation. Mre realistic, go for #1.

The dog is FINE. Even if it's looped, it still looks fine to me.

Damn! I forgot... a shitload!

Okay, I'm adding to my list:

Neverending Story (one of my Big Three, I'm so ashamed for forgetting that one)
Out of this World (LOVED that show)
Howard the Duck (weird but.. fun)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Round the Twist
Super Ted

Also one another friend reminded me of - the Wizard of Oz animated cartoon series. There are lots of them but this is a special one, because it was actually good. LOTS of episodes too so they covered a LOT of Oz ground.

esper: I loved How To Eat Fried Worms

You know, I can no longer remember which one I used to watch. Maybe both @_@

But year, the `extreme` ghostbusters (guy in a wheelchair, right?) is pretty recent. I remember having a good laugh about that one a couple of years ago.
