Oh my god ha ha imagine getting a gas bill from ags electricity ha ha gakkkk ha you would be all like chris jones is charging for gas now?? wtf??? how did he get my billing information?? like my address and my credit card number??? and then you'd be like oh right duhhhh uhhhhh lucky that is actually a legit electricity and gas company!!!! oh my god ha ha i wish that would actually happen because it would rock ha ha.

but then you would go outside and see a truck with ags on it and be like ahhh, no way chris drives a truck now with betas of ags in it and then you would be back to square one. it could be like a tv show. like mrs bucket the way she always hosts a dinner party someplace and it is always a distaster WHOOPS I SPOILED THE ENDING OF EVERY EPISODE EVER.

I love you ^_^

I actually cringe when I think about the time, years ago, when I used to ignore layers and pretend they didn't exist. So many friends swore by them, but hey, I was doing fine without them.

Now, I've seen the light. Layers, I can't live without them! No background of mine escaped at least several layers, and boy does it make things neater and easier.

QUEENSLANDER!!!

I was actually at the game tonight (and will be at the third one too) and I have to say it was one of the most nail-biting, exciting games I've ever had the privilage to see. My boyfriend has practically no voice left, I have a throat that seems to be contorting (but voice not too bad), but hell, losing a leg would have been worth it.

Thank god it ended with a try! I usually hate golden point because I find finishing a game with a field goal so anti-climatic, but this was one of the most dramatic, amazing ends to a game ever. I feel sure we're gonna be seeing that intercept by Bowen on footage reels for a long time.

By the way, to people who don't know what I'm on about... you're probably not Australian ^_^ Don't worry.

Paint Shop Pro, all the way

Farlander, no offense, but if you ever rule the world, I'll kill myself. ^_^

I wish people would leave original Star Wars alone. It's already been fucked around with enough (luckily we have both the DVDs and original, untouched LDs at my place).

A lot of them just have big rooms and you go from room to room.. er, if you know what I mean. As opposed to a "grid" system. Just a normal transition.

I wouldn't use it in mine because of aesthetics, I guess. I'm basing my game on games like Secret of Mana and Terranigma... they just have rooms, you leave them, go to another room.

I wouldn't say it's typical, as such, of RPG games, but some do have it, certainly. The first one that springs to mind is Zelda. I wouldn't use it in my RPG personally, I'm just having normal rooms, not seperating my dungeons into a grid. As Gil said, it's been asked before and I think there are some complicated work-arounds but... more than I'd want to bother with. Some people would probably find it useful.

I'm curious myself as to how commercial games with this feature work it.

Awesome. I always knew I ruled the female sex and now I rule the male sex too ^_^

My opinion is that the new movies suck and will always suck, even if they weren't crap, because new movies should never have been made. Star Wars was fine the way it was, and George is a dickhead. I hate him, I hate the new movies, and I refuse to catalogue them in my brain as being apart of the Star Wars I know and love. I'm so fucking sick of now having to specify "the original trilogy" when I want to say, "I love Star Wars". This whole situation shits me, I hate him, I hate the movies. They can all go to hell, and they suck.

There. Take that, y'all. Yo.

Ahhhh, I loved the TNMT movies. It was the only time in my life I called one of those expensive lines to hear the Vanilla Ice song ^_^

I don't think I'll be struggling. I'm excited right now, but I have quite a lot to miss once I leave so I'm concentrating on trying to get the most out of it all now. I also have a lot of preparation too... such as, earning some money. I have $0.00 right now and no job.

EDIT: And in case anyone cares. I'm actually going to the city of Shizuoka.

There's nothing wrong with saying what you think about the looks of these machines. I personally don't care for any of them much. I'm disappointed with Nintendo though, for trying to look boring and playstationey. When I get one, it's gonna HAVE to be a colour one because the black looks so bland I'd probably forget that Nintendo's fun while looking at.

Though, yes, the most important thing is the quality of the games. This is where Xbox and Nintendo kick ass ^_- Ninja Gaiden, baby!

The kind of things you often see it used for in RPGs are lighting effects in dark rooms or caves, where the light is coming from a somewhat narrow source. ie Light from windows in a room, or light streaming in from holes in a cave ceiling. The rooms thing especially interests me because it always looks good. It's not a dramatic effect and should never be overused, but when used appropriately, just adds a certain something to the look of a room.

THAT'S IT!!! Wow. The mystery is solved.

I'm not sure I overly liked it, I remember only watching it once, and I think it was over some other kid's house. Still, the memory is intruiging. I just remember that fruit tree...

No problem :]

I was just bouncing everywhere this afternoon. I found out where JET is placing me in Japan and it's probably the absolute best thing I could have hoped for. Not only that, but 2 of my friends are placed in the prefecture right next door to me, and another is only maybe an hour away... all of us got the places we requested or at least right next to them.

It was just all too good.

I may be mere minutes away from finding out where I'm being placed. I don't know what to do with myself so I ifgured I'd post here again. Waiting for the call...

Oh... Vince? Lots of people have found out already and I know one Brisbane girl is going to Okinawa ^_^ Some guy called 'RuffnReadyOzStyle' says you're a nice guy.

EDIT: I'M GOING TO SHIZUOKA-KEN!!!

*ahem* I'm so excited >_< Shizuoka was one of my preferences, I can't believe I got it. I'm near ALL my preferences, apparently I'm in a "main city" (maybe Shizuoka itself) and I'm near Tokyo... holy crap. I'm jumping around all over the place.

I actually edited the Japanese font and made my own. It's a little bigger, more stylised, contains all the hiragana characters and all the punctuation I think I'll need plus a couple of 'fun' characters my game will be using. I also created an outline for it, and I'm pretty happy with it. Of course, I had to sacrifice all the English characters, but I won't need them, personally. So... I think I'm gonna go with this. I haven't tried the editor out yet but when I do, I'll let you know how it goes.

Of course, this is all still somewhat premature because I have to finish my game before I use this.

Sorry, I disagree scotch ^_^ I would use this feature all over the place! This sort of thing is very commonplace is old-style RPGs and there are all sorts of situations where it would be handy for me.
