HOORAY! Thanks a million CJ ^_^ I've been waiting for this for a long time. I'm sure it'll be a long time before I get used to the changes but it's kind of exciting at the same time, like being able to experience trying AGS for the first time again. Ahh, like a second marriage...

Hopefully this (coupled with my being stuck at home sick) gives me the motivation to get to work on my game again.

EDIT: One thing I've noticed is that I no longer get the problem of the game not running the first time I 'test' it. I used to have to test once, ctrl+alt+del and then test again the first time after turning the computer on. Now it runs like normal all the time.

Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive.

78% ... woohoo!

This is great fun: http://www.isketch.net/ ^_^

The only probaly is that I can't play in the same room as my boyfriend (who's using another computer)... but I can see the reasoning there.

Monkeys o_o I thought they were babies! I'm sitting there going, "Damn! Stupid baby level"...

True, it's SO frustrating when you know there's a move and you can't see it. Even worse is when you see it at the last moment and go to click only to have the game end.

Yep, getting from level 7 to 8 is my big hurdle. I've done it a few times, but never made it to 9 (and getting to 8 is still a big struggle)

EDIT: Just got 28520 at lvl. 8 - woohoo!

7th attempt? You're doing well. I got that score after playing for HOURS! I sucked at first.

I got 22910 for Zoo Keeper earlier ^_-

Well, a lot of it is to do with luck, and practise. Also, knowing how to get specials. Keep an eye on the bar at the top and when a particular girl is lit up, try to land on her. If you DO, and "SPECIAL" pops up on the screen, quickly click the mouse button and you'll get a good boost (some a lot better than others).

One thing to keep in mind is your red and blue arrows on the left hand side. Red arrows can be used when the word 'Aerial' is coloured red (which happens when you're coming down towards the ground again). Click the button to use one (you have three total in the game, they can't be replenished) and it will give you an upwards boost. A good place to use these is when you're heading down towards the green "Stop" girl and you can use this to avoid her.

The blue ones can be used when you're starting to rise up into the air again ('Aerial' will turn blue) and these ones are the real bread winners. You should use one of these when you're looking like you'll head over the top of a girl you want to land on, and if you get the timing right, you can send yourself back down to hit her. You only have one blue arrow at a time but these will replenish when the percentage reaches 100% (it goes up as you fly through the air immediately above the road but not off the top of the screen).

Basically, red makes you go up, blue makes you go down.

Hitting the right girls and getting specials can send you really far, and if you get special after special after special, you can fly at phenominal speeds.

Typically, I get 2000-4000m and I think that's pretty standard. 'Course, it's also fun to see how short a distance you can get :) You can go for 0.00m. The time I got 18k was one of the first times I'd ever played the game. My boyfriend had been playing this game for days and hours on end, and I told him to give me a go. Played it about 3 times and just had this amazing run where I got special after special, and the really rare specials too. I thought I was pretty hot shit that day ^_- Beginner's luck, gotta love it.

I've heard some people have gotten up to 90k but you never know if these things are true or not. There are also some "special" version of the game where all the specials are permanently turned on, etc.

Ah, you people give up too easily ^_^

While I'm here, let me advertise another game my friends and I have been into for the last month or so: Nanaca Crash!

I've gotten up to about 18,000 I think, but that was a real fluke.

Zoo Keeper - http://www.ebaumsworld.com/zookeeper.html (It's available practically everywhere though)

I just feel that this game is worth a special little thread of it's own. I've been playing it all day and I'm only getting more and more addicted. It's probably been on the net for thousands of years and everyone knows about it but me, but for those who don't, take a look at it, it's great fun!

I've made it up to stage 8 with 17620 so far. Not too great, but I just end up falling it a heap everytime I get to that level.

I'm fairly sure there's a GB version of this game, I've sure I've seen it in stores and though, "Hmm, looks cute".

I've actually never had a house cat before. I've had dozens of cats (well, maybe dozen,... or less) in my life and we've always let them out when they please. For the most part, they were all okay (well, except one or two that died because of a fight or a car). My boyfriend, I suspect, has also never had a house cat, but he's always lived on large properties which are perfect for letting cats roam around safely. Now, we live in a nice but pretty compact place. It's a great house for a cat, but I KNOW she wants to go outside and I want to let her because I know very well that she'd be a lot calmer. I mean, I put myself in her position, she has a very small world to live in.

I used to let her out quite a bit because our "back yard" is a little enclosed courtyard, it's perfect. I stopped letting her out when she realised she could jump the fence and run around to the front of the house, down the driveway to where all the cars are. I still take her out myself sometimes but I can't let her out on her own because she'll immediately head for the road.

I'm going to at least wait for a little longer before bring the 'cat door' discussion up. Number one, she has to be "fixed" first (a big black cat from next door has started just stalking her from our back yard), and I also just want to wait until she's closer to a fully grown cat. There are a few other cats in our neighbourhood and they're pretty big. She's not a kitten kitten anymore, but she's still just a grown-up kitten.

Ah, I meant... I AM going to Japan, but the waiting for the mail telling me so is over ^_^

Thanks Shab :) (Can I call you Shab?)

Yeah, my music skills are pretty nil. I may even get my music genius friend to rework them for me at some point.

I haven't worked on the game since Easter. I took an Easter break because I had been working on the game, well, an obscene amount each day and it had taken over my life. After Easter, because I had kicked the habit, I took advantage of my time to look for a job and do some other lifey stuff. Then, I was living every single day for a couple of weeks just waiting for mail to find out if I was going to Japan. Now that that's over, theoretically, I could start work on the game again, but I'm still jobless... ah fuck it, you know? I WILL start work on the game again. I'll try to find work around that.

You know, I've never played Phantasy Star... I guess I should some day.

I've sprinkled mine with powdered valeriaan. At least, that's what the substance is called in Dutch. Cats in general love the smell of this herb and mine are no exception to this rule.

I think you mean what we call Catnip ^_^ I was planning on getting some of that too.

As for the treats, I just have small pieces of cat candy from Whiskas (again, may be an unknown brand in your country) which they both like very well. So well they start fighting over it sometimes, damaging my furniture in the process...

Whiskas is one of the biggest brands here (and probably everywhere) so that shouldn't be a problem ^_^

Thanks!

I actually thought, "Gee, maybe everyone is right and I should consider using an RPG game maker instead of AGS. I'll have another look at some other programs". I had a look around, decided ika would be best. Downloaded what I think is "ika" (there were so many files for download, I had no idea which one was just - The Program), then thought, "I'll have a look at a game someone made to get a feel for what the engine can do", so I did. Tried to run it, and a file is missing. Not only that, but the games seem to be just like RPGMaker games and made up of a thousand seperate files.

Fuck this, I say :P ALL these programs suck. There should be a great program just like AGS that is simply geared more towards RPGs.

I'm just salivating in anticipation for this thing to finally come out ^_^ Hurry up, guys! (I'm glad you're being thorough, though)

I have a cat, getting on 6 months old now, and she's a bit of a furniture scratcher. Furniture, carpet... anything, really. I've done some reading up and I realise now she needs more than one scratching post (which she doesn't use anyway, but it was an el cheapo one... it's pretty crappy). I think I know what I want, but I wondered what any of the cat owners here have found that works, because I always prefer word of "mouth" to reading a website and wondering if it's being sponsered to give good "advice" on a particular product.

One of the things I like the look of is this: http://about.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=2541644/search=Cosmic%2520Alpine%2520Scratcher

I'd also like to get just a plain sisal scratching post as well (but one that's big and study enough for kitty to really get into).

So, what do you guys use?

Oh, I'd also like to give her a treat every time she uses the post at the start, what's a good treat? My cat loves tuna but I don't really fancy running to the fridge and trying to pick out a chunk of tuna for her when the time comes.

Just for the record... if you did get the job, you'd be a GOOD cop, right?
